!I am writing with regards to Ingrid Sprake. I have known Ingrid for the past 13 years and
could not regard her more highly. Ingrid and I met when we were both doing our DiveMaster
training in Thailand. We both later became PADI instructors and while Ingrid launched her
career teaching and moving into ocean conservation, I returned to continue my work with
start up and growth companies and managed to teach annually and strengthen my
involvement in ocean conservation as a donor, volunteer, founder and director for various non-
profits.
!Ingrid is without question an exceptionally talented professional in the conservation arena.
Her background in law and her abilities as a manager and leader qualify her in ways not
typical of many. She is an avid student and while she does not have a science based academic
background, watching her work and seeing her results, you would never know.
!Ingrid is passionate about ocean conservation and her knowledge is broad and deep. It is her
relationships and experience in that field have been her graduate education.
!She is one of the few people I know who can prioritize strategically and implement/execute
methodically. She is a planner and a builder. If you give her a project, she will not just
deliver the project, but build it and grow it naturally. She can break even and make a profit
on a project more quickly than many business leaders I’ve worked with in the private sector.
Her passion is contagious, her talent rich and strong and every organization she has worked
with was left better than when she arrived.
