We present a new analysis of wavelength translation in regular, all-optical WDM networks, that is simple, computationally inexpensive, and accurate for both low and high network loads. In a network with k wavelengths per link, we model the output link by an auxiliary M/M/k/k queueing system. We then obtain a closed-form expression for the probability P succ that a session arriving at a node at a random time successfully establishes a connection from its source node to its destination node. Unlike previous analyses, which use the link independence blocking assumption, we account for the dependence between the acquisition of wavelengths on successive links of the session’s path. Based on the success probability, we show that the throughput per wavelength increases superlinearly (as expected) as we increase the number of wavelengths per link; however, the extent of this superlinear increase in throughput saturates rather quickly. This suggests some interesting possibilities for network provisioning in an all-optical network. We verify the accuracy of our analysis via simulations for the torus and hypercube networks.

With the technology development of medical industry, processing data is expanding rapidly and computation time also increases due to many factors like 3D, 4D treatment planning, the increasing sophistication of MRI pulse sequences and the growing complexity of algorithms. Graphics processing unit (GPU) addresses these problems and gives the solutions for using their features such as, high computation throughput, high memory bandwidth, support for floating-point arithmetic and low cost. Compute unified device architecture (CUDA) is a popular GPU programming model introduced by NVIDIA for parallel computing. This review paper briefly discusses the need of GPU CUDA computing in the medical image analysis. The GPU performances of existing algorithms are analyzed and the computational gain is discussed. A few open issues, hardware configurations and optimization principles of existing methods are discussed. This survey concludes the few optimization techniques with the medical imaging algorithms on GPU. Finally, limitation and future scope of GPU programming are discussed.

In today’s technological life, everyone is quite familiar with the importance of security measures in our lives. So in this regard, many attempts have been made by researchers and one of them is flying robots technology. One well-known usage of flying robot, perhaps, is its capability in security and care measurements which made this device extremely practical, not only for its unmanned movement, but also for the unique manoeuvre during flight over the arbitrary areas. In this research, the automatic landing of a flying robot is discussed. The system is based on the frequent interruptions that is sent from main microcontroller to camera module in order to take images; these images have been distinguished by image processing system based on edge detection, after analysing the image the system can tell whether or not to land on the ground. This method shows better performance in terms of precision as well as experimentally.

The object of our project is acquisition of Electro cardiogram signal from patient‟s body through wearable system, analyze whether it is normal or abnormal at patient‟s end, then transmit the wireless signal if found that it is abnormal. Transmission is to be done wirelessly through XBEE Technology and then higher level analysis is to be done on computer which is situated at base -station. To achieve our objective we have used microcontroller AT Mega 32 and for its programming we have used dynamic C with AVR Studio base. For higher level analysis we have made software using Java J2EE, Java Script and PHP
