10:00:57 Mowgli Terima kasih Baloo, itu sangat mempesona.
Aku senang tiap kata yang terdengar.
Thank you Baloo, that was fascinating. I

10:01:24 Baloo Silahkan. Pergilah. Kita akan melanjutkannya
siang nanti.
Alright. Run along. We’ll continue this
afternoon.
10:01:30 Narrator - Baloo Dengan cerita tentang binatang yang tentu
saja menyukai telur.
With a story about an animal who absolutely
loves eggs. Lake Khanka in Asia is one of the
largest lakes in the world and it’s here that the
raccoon dog lives.
baru saja menetas lalu pergi menuju danau
melepaskan sedikit bau di pasir, menarik
rakun anjing menuju di mana telur-telur
berada.
The raccoon dog is prowling the shore line, as
always led by its well developed nose. A
slight scent is hovering in the air. It’s
hatching time for the soft shelled turtles and
the young turtles that have already hatched
and left for the lake, leave a faint scent in the
sand, leading the raccoon dogs straight to the
eggs.
10:02:10 Narrator - Baloo Menariknya, kita bisa melihat beberapa telur
yang tidak dibuahi tertinggal.
It’s worth a look as there are often some
unfertilized eggs left.
10:02:28 Narrator - Baloo Saat badai, banyak kumpulan telur terendam
oleh ombak, membuat telur-telur itu rusak.
During a storm many batches get flooded by
the waves and the eggs get spoilt.
10:02:37 Narrator - Baloo Jadi, hanya sekumpulan telur yang
ditempatkan dengan baiklah yang aman. Dan
telur-telur itu menetas karena hangatnya
cahaya matahari.
So only the better placed batches are safe.
And the eggs are hatched by the warm sun.

10:02:51 Narrator - Baloo Dan inilah sang kura-kura muda. And here comes a young turtle.
10:03:06 Narrator - Baloo Dia hanya punya satu tujuan, menuju ke
danau. Dan letaknya lumayan jauh.
It wants to go in one direction only, towards
the lake. And it’s rather far away.
10:03:15 Narrator - Baloo Sang induk dengan seksama mengawasi
langkah awal keturunan kecilnya yang
berukuran dua sentimeter.
The mother is carefully watching her tiny two
centimeter long offspring’s first steps.
Kura-
kura cangkang halus kecil tidak diam dekat
pantai yang berbahaya untuk waktu yang
lama. Mereka berenang menuju kumpulan
bunga lili air berjumbai.
Some hesitation at the shore line, and the
waves carry them into the lake. The small
soft shelled turtles don’t stay near the
dangerous shore for long. They swim out to
batches of fringed water lily.
dimakan.
The leaves shield them from view and there’s
plenty of algae to eat.
10:04:17 Narrator - Baloo Kura-kura cangkang lunak dapat mencium
dan melihat dengan baik.
Soft shelled turtles can smell and see very
well.
ular berkeliaran mencari mangsa. Tapi kura-
kura kecil menyadarinya dan bersembunyi.
So leftovers from the grownups are easy to
find. There’s a snakehead coming, looking
for prey. But the little turtle is on alert and
can hide.
10:04:47 Narrator - Baloo <Laughs> That was lucky.

10:04:51 Narrator - Baloo Ikan kepala ular diperkirakan bisa mencapai
panjang delapan meter, itu bisa lebih panjang
dari tinggi manusia. Seperti semua ikan,
mereka bertelur. Kadang dalam satu kali masa
bertelur, mereka bisa menelurkan 15.000 butir
telur.
Snakehead fish have been known to grow to
one point eight meters in length, that’s as long
as an adult human is tall. Like all fish, it
spawns. Sometimes as many as 15,000 eggs
at a time.
10:05:05 Baloo Kita lanjut lagi lain waktu. Bagheera? Kau
tidak…?
<Laughs> But more of that later. Bagheera?
You didn’t …?
10:05:10 Bagheera Oh, kau pasti lapar setelah pelajaran hebat itu. Oh you must be hungry after that brilliant

sudah mencari di tepi sungai selama berjam-
jam. Kau tidak tahu di mana aku bisa
menemukan… apa itu? Sarang buaya.
Ooh. Nothing in the water either. And I’ve
been searching the river bank for hours. You
don’t happen to know where I can find a …
what’s that? A crocodile nest.
10:05:48 Mowgli Selamat pagi juga. Tidak, aku bukan ibumu.
Aku adalah ayah dari anak beruang.
<Laughs> A good morning to you too. No,
I’m not your mum. I’m a man cub.

yang bertelur, seperti salmon misalnya. for instance.
10:06:13 Narrator - Mowgli DI musim panas, mereka datang dari laut,
berenang menuju ke hulu untuk bertelur.
In the summer, they come from the sea,
swimming their way upstream to lay their
eggs.
10:06:26 Narrator - Mowgli Sepertinya rintangan besar akan menghalangi
jalan mereka.
Seemingly insurmountable obstacles threaten
to block their path.
10:06:43 Narrator - Mowgli Saat berenang cepat, lompatan besar
dilakukan, dan beberapa percobaan mungkin
dibutuhkan.
At the rapids, a big jump is called for, and
several attempts can be needed.
Powered by a strong urge to return to their
birth place to spawn, they try again and again.
10:07:22 Narrator - Mowgli Hanya yang terkuat yang berhasil. Only the very strongest make it.

10:07:40 Narrator - Mowgli Salmon bisa menelurkan hingga 30.000 butir
telur. Jumlah itu hampir sama dengan jumlah
rata-rata penduduk sebuah kota. Tapi tidak
semua dari telur itu akan menetas.
Salmon spawn up to 30,000 eggs. That’s as

10:08:20 Mowgli Kau adalah teman kecil keras kepala, ya? <Laughs> You’re a stubborn little fellow

memikirkannya. Apa yang akan aku lakukan
selama pelajaran?
Oh. You win. <Laughs> Stop it. I’ve got to

my lesson?
10:08:44 Baloo Sekarang kita punya cangkang telur buaya,
kita siap memulai pelajaran.
Now we’ve got a crocodile eggshell, we’re all
set for our lesson.
10:08:48 Mowgli Pertama, katakan halo pada teman baruku. First, say hello to my new friend.

Dia sendirian, dan Chil hampir saja
memangsanya.
Take him back? But I can’t. He was all
alone, and Chil was preying on him.
10:09:15 Baloo Induknya pasti tidak jauh. Buaya selalu
merawat anak-anaknya yang baru saja
menetas dengan baik.
His mother can’t have been far away.
Crocodiles always take good care of their
hatchlings.
10:09:22 Narrator - Baloo Seperti yang dilakukan burung-burung di
tebing Heligoland, di pesisir pantai di Jerman.
Just like the birds do at the cliffs of
Heligoland, off the German coast.
10:09:29 Narrator - Baloo Burung laut utara mengerami anak-anaknya. The northern s are hatching their young.
fulmars utara. Kelompok pertama baru datang
sekitar 30 tahun lalu saat mereka datang ke
sini untuk bertelur. Sekarang, ada lebih dari
150 dari mereka.
The 60 meter high cliffs are crowded with
marine birds gathering on the small outcrops.
The beautiful northern s are new here,
between all these common guillemots,
seagulls and northern fulmars. The first batch
only arrived 30 years ago when they started to
come here to hatch. Now, there are more than
150 of them.
10:10:21 Narrator - Baloo Untuk sarang mereka, mereka biasanya
menggunakan bagian jala yang ditemukan di
laut, sisa dari para nelayan. Untuk mengambil
jala itu bisa berbahaya, karena mereka bisa
saja terjerat oleh jala itu.
For their nests, they often use parts of nets
they found in the sea, leftover by fishermen.
But that’s dangerous as the birds can become
tangled up in the mesh.
That’s not the only danger lurking here.

pertkelahian kadang terjadi. Sang induk harus
mengawasi anak-anak mereka agar tidak

Room is scarce, and so some squabbling does
occur. The mothers have to watch out that
their young don’t fall down.
10:11:16 Narrator - Baloo Burung laut utara di Heligoland bertelur di
ketinggian sampai 60 meter, itu setinggi
gedung 20 lantai. Sangatlah penting
mengawasi anak-anak mereka di tempat yang
sangat tinggi ini.
Northern s on Heligoland hatch at a height of

Because, because, well if you’d been more
watchful, Mowgli wouldn’t be behaving like
one of those cheeky ravens.
10:13:25 Narrator - Baloo Di Finlandia, kadang mereka mengganggu
binatang lain, seperti wolverine, binatang
karnifora dari Martin family. Wolverine
betina muda ini bisa mencium sesuatu yang
lezat dalam kondisi bersalju.

wolverine. Sang wolverine mengoyak daging

cukup makanan untuk dimakan sang burung.
wolverine is struggling to keep her competitor
at bay. Usually, wolverines and ravens have
an agreement that the bird finds the carcass,
then leaves the wolverine to it. The wolverine
rips the meat into pieces, has plenty to eat,
and when it’s finished, there’s enough left
over for the bird to eat too.
10:14:03 Narrator - Baloo Tapi kali ini, sang wolverine menemukan
makanan itu sendiri dan dia tidak mau
membaginya walaubagaimanapun. Tapi
gagak nakal tidak mau meninggalkannya
sendiri. Umumnya gagak senang bermain-
main. Biasanya mereka memainkan
permainan seperti kereta salju, berguling-
guling di salju, berayun dan menjaga
keseimbangan.
But this time, the wolverine’s discovered the
meal all by herself and doesn’t want to share

We’ll continue this afternoon. With a story about an animal who absolutely loves eggs. Lake Khanka in Asia is one of the largest lakes in the world and it’s here that the raccoon dog lives. The raccoon dog is prowling the shore line, as always led by its well developed nose. A slight scent is hovering in the air. It’s hatching time for the soft shelled turtles and the young turtles that have already hatched and left for the lake, leave a faint scent in the sand, leading the raccoon dogs straight to the eggs. It’s worth a look as there are often some unfertilized eggs left. 10:02:28 Narrator - Baloo Saat badai, banyak kumpulan telur terendam oleh ombak, membuat telur-telur itu rusak. During a storm many batches get flooded by the waves and the eggs get spoilt. So only the better placed batches are safe. And the eggs are hatched by the warm sun.

And here comes a young turtle. 10:03:06 Narrator - Baloo Dia hanya punya satu tujuan, menuju ke danau. Dan letaknya lumayan jauh. It wants to go in one direction only, towards the lake. And it’s rather far away. 10:03:15 Narrator - Baloo Sang induk dengan seksama mengawasi langkah awal keturunan kecilnya yang berukuran dua sentimeter. The mother is carefully watching her tiny two centimeter long offspring’s first steps. Mereka berenang menuju kumpulan bunga lili air berjumbai. Some hesitation at the shore line, and the waves carry them into the lake. The small soft shelled turtles don’t stay near the dangerous shore for long. They swim out to batches of fringed water lily. The leaves shield them from view and there’s plenty of algae to eat. Soft shelled turtles can smell and see very well. So leftovers from the grownups are easy to find. There’s a snakehead coming, looking for prey. But the little turtle is on alert and can hide. 10:04:47 Narrator - Baloo <Laughs> That was lucky.

The beautiful northern s are new here, between all these common guillemots, seagulls and northern fulmars. The first batch only arrived 30 years ago when they started to come here to hatch. Now, there are more than 150 of them. For their nests, they often use parts of nets they found in the sea, leftover by fishermen.
