The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is introduced to bring a single unified tax regime for India, which will consolidate many different taxes into a single tax regime.
The intention is to bring predictability and lower operating costs for businesses because the GST will reduce the overall tax burden by reducing the impacts of cascading taxes and allow the cross-utilization of tax credits across the supply chain.
All the enterprises must gear up for a smooth deployment of GST related changes in their application landscape. Without proper technical and application environment, GST compliance will be impossible.
Customer challenges
Organizations do not necessarily have in-house expertise to cope up with the deployment and management of changes related to GST. As the government tries to streamline the process, periodic changes and report requirements (GSTR1, GSTR2, e-Way Bill, e-Invoicing etc.) are generated.
SAP is regularly delivering various notes and patches to support the technical architecture for addressing these requirements.
However, extracting the accurate data from the SAP system and then integrating it to the GSTN Portal (either with our without the help of GSP/ASP) is a huge challenge requiring substantial efforts.

The Public Liability Insurance Act of 1991 deals with hazardous substances; each owner must conclude one or more contracts which include the obligation to provide direct compensation. It should be provided to all those who have suffered damages that should be given to the property of the deceased legal heir in the event of their death.
The 1991 Public Liability Act was ordained to provide direct assistance to people affected by accidents related to handling hazardous materials and other coerced and related matters. Coverage insurance is claimed when someone is injured at the place of business. Places like shopping centres, night clubs, and theatres need this type of insurance to protect themselves.
The Public Liability Insurance Act 1991 applies to all owners associated with the production or handling of any hazardous chemicals, to provide immediate relief to victims and persons (other than workmen) affected by accidents occurring while handling hazardous substances through the insurance amount paid by the owner of the hazardous substance. Coverage insurance covers claims by community members who have suffered injury or property damage in connection with the business. Coverage insurance covers a person or company in the event of an accident at their company.
It is also known as the Bhopal disaster, in which thousands of people lost their lives. This is considered the worst industrial disaster in the world that happened on a cold winter night in the early hours of December 3, 1984. Around midnight, a chemical reaction began at the Union Carbide (India) Limited plant, which resulted in the release of a deadly gas methyl isocyanate (MIC) from one of the tanks. As a result, the gas cloud gradually tumbled enveloping the city within its deadly folds. Both the city and the lake had become a gas chamber. Nearly 3,000 people died in the tragedy, and thousand more were physically injured and affected in various forms.
Wildlife was killed, injured, and contaminated. The business was totally cut off. People’s lives were affected. The environment was polluted disturbed ecology and wildlife. An estimated 40 tons of methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas leaked from the Union Carbide Factory. Lessons learned from the Bhopal gas tragedy were quickly forgotten.
The Public Liability Insurance Act 1991 came into force after the tragedy and aims to provide immediate assistance to victims of accidents involving hazardous industries. However, activists argue that legal provisions are not enforced by collectors appointed as law enforcement agencies. According to Section 4 of the law, owners of companies that use hazardous substances take out insurance policies to cover liabilities from accidents that cause death, injury, or injury. In addition, Section 7 A, i) and (ii) regulate the establishment of a central government environmental promotion fund to be used in accordance with the law to pay assistance to accident vict
The document discusses implementing an online fiscal data collection system (OFDCS) that would transmit cash receipt data from online cash registers (OCRs) to tax authorities in real time. This would help address issues like cash fraud, tax evasion, and unfair competition. The system would benefit businesses through improved sales analytics, interactions with tax authorities, and digital services for customers. It would also benefit tax authorities by optimizing processes and increasing transparency. Russia and Kazakhstan have already implemented such systems through ESN Group, resulting in increased sales and cost savings for businesses and tax systems.
Earlier traditional paper-based adopters crave ways for efficient and cost-saving solutions. The e-invoicing process improves the cash flow and working capital with the automated solution on a global scale. The use of electronic invoicing software eliminates the need for manual input of invoices received via email, PDF or paper. The e-Invoicing solutions can result in savings of 60-80% as compared to traditional paper-based invoicing. The decision to exchange invoices just in an electronic format has a tremendous multiplier effect on a broad scale market adoption.

UI5con 2024 - Bring Your Own Design SystemPeter Muessig
How do you combine the OpenUI5/SAPUI5 programming model with a design system that makes its controls available as Web Components? Since OpenUI5/SAPUI5 1.120, the framework supports the integration of any Web Components. This makes it possible, for example, to natively embed own Web Components of your design system which are created with Stencil. The integration embeds the Web Components in a way that they can be used naturally in XMLViews, like with standard UI5 controls, and can be bound with data binding. Learn how you can also make use of the Web Components base class in OpenUI5/SAPUI5 to also integrate your Web Components and get inspired by the solution to generate a custom UI5 library providing the Web Components control wrappers for the native ones.

Microservice Teams - How the cloud changes the way we workSven Peters
A lot of technical challenges and complexity come with building a cloud-native and distributed architecture. The way we develop backend software has fundamentally changed in the last ten years. Managing a microservices architecture demands a lot of us to ensure observability and operational resiliency. But did you also change the way you run your development teams?
Sven will talk about Atlassian’s journey from a monolith to a multi-tenanted architecture and how it affected the way the engineering teams work. You will learn how we shifted to service ownership, moved to more autonomous teams (and its challenges), and established platform and enablement teams.
Consistent toolbox talks are critical for maintaining workplace safety, as they provide regular opportunities to address specific hazards and reinforce safe practices.
These brief, focused sessions ensure that safety is a continual conversation rather than a one-time event, which helps keep safety protocols fresh in employees' minds. Studies have shown that shorter, more frequent training sessions are more effective for retention and behavior change compared to longer, infrequent sessions.
Engaging workers regularly, toolbox talks promote a culture of safety, empower employees to voice concerns, and ultimately reduce the likelihood of accidents and injuries on site.
The traditional method of conducting safety talks with paper documents and lengthy meetings is not only time-consuming but also less effective. Manual tracking of attendance and compliance is prone to errors and inconsistencies, leading to gaps in safety communication and potential non-compliance with OSHA regulations. Switching to a digital solution like Safelyio offers significant advantages.
Safelyio automates the delivery and documentation of safety talks, ensuring consistency and accessibility. The microlearning approach breaks down complex safety protocols into manageable, bite-sized pieces, making it easier for employees to absorb and retain information.
This method minimizes disruptions to work schedules, eliminates the hassle of paperwork, and ensures that all safety communications are tracked and recorded accurately. Ultimately, using a digital platform like Safelyio enhances engagement, compliance, and overall safety performance on site. https://safelyio.com/

Measures in SQL (SIGMOD 2024, Santiago, Chile)Julian Hyde
SQL has attained widespread adoption, but Business Intelligence tools still use their own higher level languages based upon a multidimensional paradigm. Composable calculations are what is missing from SQL, and we propose a new kind of column, called a measure, that attaches a calculation to a table. Like regular tables, tables with measures are composable and closed when used in queries.
SQL-with-measures has the power, conciseness and reusability of multidimensional languages but retains SQL semantics. Measure invocations can be expanded in place to simple, clear SQL.
To define the evaluation semantics for measures, we introduce context-sensitive expressions (a way to evaluate multidimensional expressions that is consistent with existing SQL semantics), a concept called evaluation context, and several operations for setting and modifying the evaluation context.
