4. What is GENERAL ESL?
IMS General ESL is for students who are interested in improving their English skills by
learning conversation, reading, listening, and writing for personal, academic, or professional
reasons while still having enough free time for leisure activities in Cebu.
Our General ESL curriculum is designed to help the students improve their English naturally
as they move from beginning to advanced levels. In addition, our program structure, great
teachers, engaging activities, and small classroom sizes help the students become more
comfortable with English so they can learn English as quickly as possible.
REGULAR ESL
Class: 1:1 Class(4H) + Group Class(1H) + Native Class(1H) + *Special Class(2H) = 8 hours
Minimum Level: Starter- Low Beginner
Materials: Grammar in Use, Reading Advantage, English Vocabulary in Use,
Spectrum Writing, and American Reading Textbooks etc.
Levels: Starter > Advanced
Special Classes: Vocabulary & Grammar Enhancement Activities & Tests/ Group Discussion

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to integrate the development of
listening and speaking skills, structural accuracy, everyday communication, writing and cultural
understanding that can be applied to everyday life. In this course the student will be able to
successfully communicate through English in everyday situations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
The curriculum includes the reinforcement of the students’ skills learning in class with fun and
engaging assignments and activities such as Speech Contest, Shopping Etiquette, Games, Roleplays,
Outreach programs, and Weekend cultural field trips in Cebu area.

Regular ESL Course is our least intensive course option, helping the students to improve their English

What is PREMIUM ESL?
IMS Premium ESL has guided the semi- sparta curriculum and it is the strictest course at
IMS for beginners to advanced students. This consists of an 8-hour-class and a 2-hour
special class schedule. The students are expected to practice speaking, listening, reading,
writing, grammar and pronunciation in a communicative environment. This is ideal for
students who want to improve their English language progress in a short time, for they have
limited time to stay in the Philippines.

Class: 1:1 Class(5H) + Group Class(2H) + Native Class(1H) + Special Class (Mandatory)(2H) = 10 hours

through a semi-intensive exposure to English in many different forms.The students will get a strong
foundation in core English language skills, and learn to communicate with native English speakers in
formal and informal settings. The students are expected to have lots of opportunities to practice and
gain deeper understanding and confidence to communicate in English.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
Special Classes are mandatory, but the students are still free to choose if they enter the daily
vocabulary & grammar enhancement activities and tests or self-study period with the supervision of a
teacher. These special classes are on a daily basis and intended to maximize the exposure of the
students to the language which is being taught to them.

Be IELTS books provide a comprehensive package of material to meet the
needs of the students’ training towards the familiarization and focus on
the target areas of IELTS Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
These are all motivating classroom-tested materials modified and tested
by IMS Trainers that the students will surely enjoy while learning .
After taking this course for 12 weeks or if bi-monthly
mock test results achieve the recommended IELTS
Band Score of 4.0, in either Academic or General
Training module, the student can eventually proceed to
take the IELTS Full-time Guarantee Program without

14. What is JUNIOR ESL?
The IMS Junior ESL is an immersive course offered to children from 7 to 17 years old.
This course is a progressive Sparta English curriculum that gives the students the chance to
speak English from the time they wake up until they go to bed which helps them improve their
English skill naturally. They are not only provided with 10 hours Sparta classes, but they also
stay with a teacher 24 hours.
JUNIOR ESL Program
Class: 1:1 ESL Class(4H) + Group Class(2H) + Native Class(2H)
+ Special Class(Mandatory)(2H) = 10hours
Minimum Level: Starter- Low Beginner
Materials: Grammar in Use, Reading Advantage, English Vocabulary in Use,
Spectrum Writing, and American Reading Textbooks etc.
Levels: Starter > Advanced
Special Class: Vocabulary & Grammar Enhancement Activities & Test
IMS Academy provides extra classes at night to enhance children’s English Vocabulary and Grammar
acquisition. These classes have the advantage to give the students an opportunity to strengthen and
advance their level in English. Students are mandated to attend the special class, but they still have
the option to choose the preferred subject.
SPECIAL CLASSES
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to grasp the academic, social and
cultural aspects of the English language and improve students’ English level in a short period of time.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
Each group of students is accompanied by a stay-in teacher who looks after them throughout the day
and night. This is a great benefit to the students in improving their English fluency and faster English
progress. Furthermore, teachers always ensure a joyful, appropriate, and meaningful learning
experiences for the students that lead to their success in school and in life.

15. These extracurricular activities provide opportunities for the children to participate in and interact with
peers in a supervised setting, and form unity in the group that impart important values like discipline
which remains an important part of their life even after their term in IMS.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
The students are offered an exciting experience outside the classroom by learning conversational
English while visiting different beautiful places in Cebu, joining an outreach program, dining out,
shopping, field trips, and many other English enhancement activities outdoors.
OUTDOOR IMMERSION ACTIVITIES
Monthly Level Test is given to monitor the progress of the students. There will also be a Final Level Test
that students must take a week before their last day of their overall evaluation. The Level Test consists of
Grammar, Reading, Listening and Writing.
Note: Attendance is also part of the assessment.
On successful completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion in Junior Course

16. What is FAMILY ESL?
IMS Family ESL Course creates a unique opportunity for families to improve their English language skills together
at the same time and at the same place. Children can learn English through our Kindergarten ESL (3-6yrs old) or
Junior ESL ( school-aged) which runs parallel to our Parent ESL course for the parents/ guardians.
With the various activities, especially constructed for family bonding, each member will simultaneously learn the
language and at the same time, value the importance of togetherness as a family.
