2. USE OF DOCUMENTARY...
Whilst making the radio trailer, you have to pick
extracts of your documentary which you believe will
add an informative element. The extracts have to
inform the listener on what the programme is about
without giving too much information away that they
won’t tune in to watch the show.
3. THE USE OF MUSIC...
The use of music is key in a radio trailer, as it needs
to add a dramatic element without being too
distracting.
Music is a simple way of making the trailer less
monotonous and more interesting. Without it the
trailer could seem very repetitive, and unconvincing.
4. RADIO TRAILER LENGTH...
Conventionally radio trailer’s last from 30-40
seconds long. This is perfect time as it allows
enough time for all the information needed to be
given, yet isn’t too long that listener’s attention is
lost.
5. USE OF THE VOICEOVER...
The voice over used has to set the tone of the whole
trailer and by default the television show itself. They
are there to inform the listener about the
programme, but have to have a tenor of voice that
doesn't seem droning or dull so as to hold the
audiences concentration.
