Egypt, one of the world's richest countries when it comes to art, culture, architecture and most importantly history. Egypt is home to one of the most ancient civilizations in the world.
2. Intro
Egypt being one of the culturally richest countries in the
globe, I had to think hard about what not to include in the
time capsule. After pondering for quiet some time, I decided
it had to be the Pyramids!
6. One of the 7 wonders of the world, the pyramids remain a mystery and a time
capsule in and of themselves.
Everything is a mystery when it comes to the Pyramids. How were they built?
How was a gigantic, symmetrical, triangular shape achieved with no instruments?
How have they stood the test of time? How have they preserved the mummies for
thousands and thousands of years?
We know very little about these beautiful and charming monuments. Perhaps the
ancient Egyptians not only wanted to leave us with an important monument that
preserves our History but rather wanted to leave humanity with an eternal
mysterious puzzle that scientists will attempt to solve until the end of time
9. Karnak is also known as the temple of Amun at Thebes
The temple was built over the centuries and several gods were worshipped
including Amun, Isis and Ptah
Karnak was abandoned short after the Roman invasion as Christianity spread out
through the country althought It was used initially for church worshipping as well.
That’s why you can see evidence of Christianity on its walls as well.
12. Hatshepsutwas the first female pharaoh of Egypt. Her name
means “foremost of noblewomen.”
“As the daughter of the most powerful and popular god in Egypt at the
time, Hatshepsut was claiming for herself special privilege to rule the
country as a man would. ”
