Writers Biography:
My name is Heath Buckley and I have written for as long as I can remember. I was born in
1968 and creative writing started in childhood with a love for words and literature that turned
into a profession - I was a journalist for many years winning several awards for my work on
various UK magazines.
As I grew, my interests expanded into politics and current affairs, both in the United Kingdom
and abroad, and so did the subject of my writing. I write the kind of books that I like to read -
fast paced thrillers that have both a familiar British and personal characteristic and an
international perspective. I write books with strong characters immersed in bold storylines
and they are, as far as it is possible to do so when writing fiction, based in reality.
Bio thriller ‘Virus’ was my first Kindle book and this was followed by the political adventure
‘Bullets & Bull.’ The Love Spell is something of a departure from my 'thriller' base as it is a
romantic comedy. I have recently set about developing The Love Spell into a stage musical.
I live in London.

The Love Spell by Heath Buckley published on the Amazon Kindle Platform. Five star
recommendation.
Praise for The Love Spell:
"Four modern day witches cast The Love Spell and the results are humorous, exciting and
just a good story. All they wanted to do was help the new neighbours that were experiencing
a marriage doldrums time in their relationship. A nosy reporter starts poking around about
the four witches, Marjorie, Dorothy, Anita and Francis to add to the troubles of the Coven.
The book is just plain fun from start to finish with all the good intentions that get out of hand
in this story about white magic with only good witches allowed." Jane Jones
“Really loved this latest book from Heath Buckley. Riotously good fun from start to finish set
against a fascinating background. Strongly recommended. Can't wait for the sequel.” Ben
“Just loved this book. At first I expected Witches on broomsticks flying off roofs, but then
realised modern witches wouldn't do that! Once that was sorted I got into the characters and
found them very real and lots of fun. The fun theme ran through the book and made it a very
enjoyable read. Ladies - you'll love it. Fellas - you'd enjoy it too. I've read it once, about to
read it again.” Margaret
2. 2012
Virus by Heath Buckley published on the Amazon Kindle Platform. Five star
recommendation
Praise for Virus:
"Very enjoyable and well written" Sue
"This novel was just a little too real for me. The plot was plausible - this really couldn't
happen, could it? The action starts immediately - and I was there, in Abbotsdown... The
writing is fluid, strong and compelling, as is the characterisation and I liked or had empathy
with the poor souls caught up in this dreadful scenario. I really did have trouble putting the
book down but did finish it in record time. This author has definitely climbed to the top of my
favourites list and I'm really looking forward to his next offering." Lindsay Sabbarton
"The reason I consider Virus a good effort is because it has elements of Michael Crichton's
Andromeda Strain and Stephen King's The Stand. Both books are standards upon which
following books can seem derivative. Mr. Buckley has promise." Moondust Falls
Bullets & Bull by Heath Buckley published on the Amazon Kindle Platform.
Praise for Bullets & Bull:
"This is simply a wonderful novel. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone who is
looking for an excellent 'political' thriller." L Sabbarton
“This is simply a wonderful novel. The action happens immediately and then you are off on a
wild exciting chase. I love the author's style - simplistic, but totally enveloping. I hate using
the old worn clichés, but here I have to; this novel really had me hooked. All of the
characters were believable, had depth and real dialogue. I had empathy with them all, even
with a monster President - I hated him! I found I felt very anxious and rather worried - I was
there, right in the action and felt the urgency of the narrative. The author obviously knows his
subject extremely well and I would imagine has been very precise with his research,
although added just enough technical detail to enthrall the reader and not overwhelm.
Everything about this book seemed so very real and left me wondering, what if? This author
definitely has a new fan and I've just downloaded his other novel, Virus, which I understand
from reviews is exceptional as well.” Woolly Bear
Work Experience:
John Lewis – Head Office, Victoria
I am a full time web copy producer for johnlewis.com, specifically the Fashion Directorate.
I write concise, inspirational and accurate copy for the Women’s Accessories & Beauty team
and have been a copywriter on all of its categories – jewellery, handbags, women’s shoes,
accessories and beauty. I am currently responsible for Handbags and Beauty.
I have been responsible for many important and key brand launches on the website
including Charlotte Tilbury, Hermes fragrances and Marc Jacobs Beauty as well as handbag
brands Mi-Pac, Hill & Friends and Pieces.
This is in addition to the continual servicing of major brands such as MAC and CHANEL for
beauty and Ted Baker and MICHAEL Michael Kors for handbags whilst also writing for all
the brands that John Lewis has on its website in the Handbag and Beauty categories.
I liaise with the respective buying offices, merchandisers, the image team and online trade to
ensure that all guidelines are met and that the principles of Trading Excellence are fulfilled
whilst managing expectations with these various stakeholders. This also includes the
3. continuous development and improvement of the website in order to provide an optimised
customer journey.
It is worth noting that the commercially successful launch of a brand on the John Lewis
website is important, as for many brands it is the first step in their relationship with John
Lewis. Success on the website often leads to the brand taking a counter in our stores and
this has happened for Charlotte Tilbury, Marc Jacobs Beauty and MAC.
1993 – 2000
It was during this time that I was a freelance magazine editor and contributing journalist,
working for a variety of business to business magazines for some of the biggest publishing
houses in the country including EMAP, Haymarket and Euromoney Plc. These publications
were both monthly and weekly in their distribution.
I have covered sectors as diverse as the global swimming pool market, the international
airline industry and global automotive manufacturers and trends, as well as the UK
magazine and newspaper market, interviewing executives of every level.
