3. Overall theme
• The overall theme that I have chosen is easy meals for
students. The meals featured on the recipe cards we will
make will consist of simple, fast vegetarian meals that are
handy for 16 – 19 year olds.
• I chose this idea because on our questionnaire mainly
students answered bringing the idea that they want to make
simple food which should be quick and easy.
• Ideas for the recipes that will be featured on the card include:
Vegetable and bean chilli
Lentil ragu
Rarebits toasts
Scrambled omelette toast topper
Creamy courgette lasagne
Margherita pizza
4. Audience
• The audience will obviously be students aged 16 – 19
and don’t have much time to make a meal or they
want to learn how to cook or develop their ideas for
meals.
• They can be vegetarian or they could just use the
recipe as a healthy meal if they’re on a diet or just
want to be healthy.
• We chose to aim the recipe cards at students because
many people that answered our questionnaire were
students and preferred simple meals. Another reason
why we chose students is because we are students to
making these will come in handy for ourselves.
5. Production methods
• The cards will be produced digitally using
computer software such as Photoshop and
Microsoft Publisher.
• They will then be printed out onto card rather than
paper so that it doesn’t get wrecked as easy as
paper.
• Also, to prevent damage even more, we could
laminate the cards. This would also make them
stain proof just in case someone spilt whatever
they were making (hopefully the recipe from the
recipe card) on it. If something is spilt on the
recipe card it will be easy to wipe down.
7. Overall theme
• An overall theme I have chosen is Italian. The meals featured on
the recipe cards will be an Italian meal with a vegetarian twist.
• I chose this as an idea because Italian is a favourite amongst
many people and I think having a vegetarian twist is a good idea.
• I also chose Italian because the meals and recipes that are
classed as Italian are many. This means that there will be plenty
of recipes and meals to choose from. Some recipes could be:
Aubergine rolls with spinach & ricotta.
Cherry tomato, kale, ricotta & pesto pasta.
Roasted chestnut & herb pesto pasta with mushrooms.
Pesto & tomato pasta with crispy crumbs.
Italian butter beans.
Italian vegetable soup.
Chunky minestrone soup .
8. Audience
• This themes audience is very varied with no real
specific audience. There is nothing aimed at age,
gender, job role, social group or anything.
• This will mean that more copies will be sold or
put out because it doesn’t close it off to anyone
for a quality of theirs. It will just be put out to
people who enjoy eating Italian food who want to
try a vegetarian version of what they already eat
or if they don’t eat meat but still wants to eat
Italian food.
