Create chart of account

1. Create Chart of Account “COA” Structure:
1. Navigation: General Ledger Responsibility: Setup > Financials > Flexfield > Key > Segments

2. 2. Find “Accounting Flexfield”

3. Click on Torch icon from the toolbar. Then populate Accounting Flexfield, click Find
3. Create new COA Structure
Click the mouse on the Structures block, “Code” field
Click (Ctr + Down Arrow), OR Click the New icon from the tool bar, OR File > New
You are ready to enter new COA Structure “Accounting Structure"

4. 4. Save your work. Ctr+S, OR Click Save icon from the toolbar, OR File > Save.
Note the message on the footer of Navigator.

5. 5. Click on Segments button to create the segments of the structure.
6. Segments Summary Form will be displayed.

6. 7. Enter the Segments in the Segments Summary Form.

9. Set the Flexfield Qualifier for Company, Cost Center and Account Segments.

7. A. For the company segment, Click on “Flexfield Qualifiers” Button
And check the “Balancing Segment” check box.
Close the current form “Flexfield Qualifiers”.
Save your work.

8. B. For the Department segment, Click on “Flexfield Qualifiers” Button
And check the “Cost Center Segment” check box.
Close the current form “Flexfield Qualifiers”.
Save your work.

9. C. For the Account segment, Click on “Flexfield Qualifiers” Button
And check the “Natural Account Segment” check box.
Close the current form “Flexfield Qualifiers”.
Save your work.

10. 10. Create Value Sets. Create Value Set for each Segment.
a. Click on Value Set Button.
b. Value Sets Form will be displayed.

11. c. Enter the four Value Sets, Value Set for each Segment as below:

12. e. Department Value Set. Create New Record (Ctr+Down Arrow).
Save your work.
f. Account Value Set. Create New Record (Ctr+Down Arrow).
Save your work.

13. g. Sub-Account Value Set. Create New Record (Ctr+Down Arrow)
Click on Edit Information Button.
Dependent Value Set Information Form will be displayed
Enter the Value “00” and Description “No Sub-Account” for the Dependent Default Value.
Save your work.
Close the current Form and close the Value Sets Form

14. 11. Link each Value Set with the appropriate Segment.
For each Segment, choose the suitable Value Set.

15. 12. Enable Security for each Segment.
Click Open,
Check the Enable Security check box.

16. Also Enable Security check box for other Value Sets
13. Close the current Form and return back to “Key Flexfield Segments” Form.

17. Check the “Allow Dynamic Insert”, “Cross-Validate Segments” check boxes.
Save your work
Click on Freeze Flexfield Definition and accept this Caution message.
Compile button will activate

18. Click Compile
Click OK for any messages will appeared

19. Make sure that your flexfield was compiled successfully.
To see Your Request
Go to View ---Requests ---- Find

20. Wait till it is completed

21. Now you are ready to enter Values to your Structure
