Situation at workplace in Bangladesh
• 2011 VAW Survey report of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics:
32.1 percent of women and girls suffer from sexual and physical
violence while at work
• VAW survey, 2015, Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics:
21.9 % women - ‘working place’ is the most common place for
physical violence to occur after homes.
32.8% and 18.3 women respectively - 'working place’ and 'vehicles,
roads or streets' were places where sexual violence was likely to occur.
26 % women -working place as the place where emotional violence
was most likely to occur.
2.3 percent reported of sexual violence in the past 12 months by
someone at work
