Business Unit (BU) Fracturing
Job Summary
Reporting to the District Service Line Manager (DSLM) - BU Fracturing as a member of the Fracturing group, the Operator 3 -
Fracturing will be accountable for safely and professionally operating and maintaining specialized Fracturing equipment to stimulate
production.
This encompasses pre and post job preparation and operations as well as job execution including loading, transportation and
unloading of materials within required company specifications and ensuring the quality of the services provided meet company
performance targets and customer/client expectations. Additional accountabilities include, complying with all relevant company policy
and regulations related to HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and quality, submission of all relevant paperwork, assisting in
process improvement as required and partnering in the mentoring of less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
• Abide by the policies set forth in the Company and/or Client’s quality and Safety manuals, wear appropriate Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job and is alert and aware at all times of their own safety and the safety of others
• Keep a clean work area including, but not limited to, cleaning the shop, warehouse and assisting others with clean up
• Ensure paper work is current including, but not limited to, maintenance schedules, log books and pre and post
inspections
• Drive well services truck to well site, not exceeding the posted speed limit
• Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes and cold storage
• Transport, at times, hazardous products or dangerous goods
• Attend the pre/post job meetings in order to ensure that responsibilities are met
• Execute all pre and post job responsibilities as outlined
• Assist with rigging in and other functions at the job site as required including selecting and testing equipment,
assembling pumping equipment and attaching pumps and hoses to wellheads
• Operate pumping systems to pump chemicals, gases, sand, cement and/or other materials into a well
• Record all treatment data on the appropriate form(s) as per Sanjel policy and procedure and applicable regulations
• Perform primary and remedial fracturing
• Monitor and maintain pollution control measures
• Maintain an accurate and up to date log book and is mindful of not violating the National Safety Code with respect to
driving hours
• Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading and safety and security of cargo
• Record cargo information, distance traveled, fuel consumption and other information in log book
• Maintain equipment to corporate standards including the safeguarding of the Wincher, tractor and trailer to internal and
external safety standards and reporting repair work the individual is not qualified to do
• Identify areas of improvement and bring them forward to their supervisor
• Supervise job performance, under supervision
• Mentor less experienced team members and provide guidance as required
• Complete other duties as required
Previous Experience and Competencies
• Completion of secondary school is required or equivalent training and/or validated skill set
• Certificates in all applicable safety training and regulatory courses as mandated
• Possess a Class 1 Driver’s License
• Three plus years of experience in area or related area
• Demonstrated self-motivation and ethical behavior including professionalism and respect
• Ability to read and understand policies and procedures, write legibly in order to keep and maintain logs and understand
and follow written and verbal instructions
• Coach and counsel others in the performance of their work and in the pursuit of their careers
• Ability to generate alternative solutions and make a decision about which course or action to follow to resolve a problem
• Proven ability to work and interact well with others including communicating with people who have a variety of different
outlooks, personalities and backgrounds
