Legal Responsibilities:
dealing with all legal issues pertaining to the acquisition, production,
marketing, and protection of all audio-visual and audio content owned
and managed by the corporation which constitutes the biggest Motion-
picture, TV programming and Sports (till 2009) Library in the MENA
region;
regulation of certification of content locally and internationally;
sending out Requests for Proposal, engaging, communicating with and
guiding external law firms, both locally and internationally, on all issues
relating to lawsuits filed by or against the company;
drafting stream-lined prototypes for contracts of media acquisition and
sublicensing, keeping up with the latest known technologies in the field
of entertainment.
Anti-piracy Responsibilities:
advocating and promoting the importance of Intellectual Property rights
protection locally, and on the level of the MENA region; helped found and
maintain the MENA Broadcast Antipiracy Coalition along with the biggest
Pan-Arab Broadcasters; representing AMC at the Audio-visual Antipiracy
Alliance (AAPA), a Europe-based antipiracy alliance of the biggest
European broadcasters.
Overall, establishing and implementing AMC antipiracy strategy and
goals, especially through long-term planned litigation and communication
with the Artistic Crimes Police Force.
Job requires knowledge and constant study of different laws from
different jurisdictions worldwide.
Asset Management and Valuation Responsibilities:
played a key role at multiple valuation exercises for the media
libraries. This requires an eye for detail on how to value more
than 2000 entertainment titles, which make up more than one
third of the World's Arabic speaking media titles; building up on
prefectly kept chain-of-title documents, licensing agreements
and successful out-come of strategically planned litigation.

period between 2005 and 2009:
- the Contracts Section, and
