2. Define Sportsmanship:
❖ "Golden Rule" of sports — in other words, treating the people you play with and against as you'd like to be treated yourself.
You demonstrate good sportsmanship when you show respect for yourself, your teammates, and your opponents, for the
coaches on both sides, and for the referees, judges, and other officials.
➢ Playing fair

➢ Respecting the judgment of referees and officials
➢ Treating opponents with respect
3. Owners and Coaches
❖Coaches should have professional relationship with players
❖Owners should change team name if insulting a race or religion, or people
in society

❖If a player is hurt the game must stop IMMEDIATELY
❖Players should not be using performance enhancers such as steroids
❖Players should not be using drugs
5. Athletes and Community

❖An athlete is not required to give back to the community, but doing so
shows character
❖Athletes are look at as “role models” and their behaviors should be held to
a higher standard
6. Fan Behavior

❖Fans should keep positive during the game
❖Fans should never attack a certain player, or another fan member
❖Fans should not chant offensive slurs
❖Fans should enjoy the game and atmosphere!
7. The Future of Sportsmanship
In conclusion, I believe that in sports sportsmanship will become a large
aspects of sports. Especially with the fans. Fans have proven to only add to the
intense game, and I believe that if fans can’t control themselves during games
there will be stricter rules. I also believe that for athletes they will be held to a
higher standard and if not displaying proper sportsmanship then I think there
should be a rule in place that allows them to not play in the next game.
Sportsmanship shows a lot about a team, and an individuals character it's
important to make sure sportsmanship is being properly displayed.
