Young and Vibrant: 3 Footwear
Oct 28, 2012 By Komal Feroz No Comments Posted Under: Cover Story
Who thought the need for a size 11 would lead to an entire brand? 3
Footwear was founded by Kanza, Mahrukh and Saba last year. In a year
these three childhood friends exceeded their own expectations and captured
the market for young women drastically. Till date, they have sold
approximately 400 – 500 pairs of shoes, only having a Facebook page with
2700 likes to aid them.
Their exhibition at the Diamond Arena on Saturday, October 20, 2012, looked like quite the
success. Friends since the 6th grade, these designers share different tastes in color and style which
reflect in their designs. The blues, the pinks, the animal prints and flowers mirrored their concept
of bringing color and life to ones feet.
What is most interesting is their designs are based on an ideology, one which empowers women,
and incorporates nature’s elements such as air, fire and water. Designed to make footwear fit for a
goddess, the purpose behind 3 Footwear was to make women everywhere feel like a goddess whose
feet would never have to touch the ground.
“We felt that there was a need for comfortable yet affordable shoes especially for working women
and young girls (from 18-35 years of age), and realized that people shared this view, so we decided
to make shoes for them.”
