General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operations of the rig’s Communication equipment
including but not limited to the VHF ,teletype, Facsimile machine, public
address system and intercom system in accordance with the requirements of the
normal international practices and company rules and regulations
-part of the rig administrative support
-part of the emergency response organization
4. Duties:
-maintain rig communications with shore base, supply vessels, helicopter and other
stations under the direction of the OIM/PIC.
-monitor distress and calling frequencies as required
-monitor designated private channels
-operate a broad range of communication equipment including HF, UHF, VHF
computer terminals and facsimile machines
-Perform helicopter flight monitoring and familiar with the rig weather reporting
-perform booking for rig crew and visitors on PAS helicopter
-handle daily routine ancillary duties and operation logs
-understand and comply with safety management system
-maintain up to date lists of personnel on board the rig
-perform initial induction for all personnel arriving on board the rig where the rig safety
engineer is unavailable
-maintain up to date lists of which lifeboat personnel are assigned to in case of
emergency
