Recommendation of Gwyneth Iola Williams
I have known Gwyneth Iola Williams for the past ten years, since she graduated from London
University’ Development Planning Unit where I used to teach. I am now retired Professor from the
Technical University Berlin (see CV at www.dpu-associates.net) but also Chairperson and co-
founder of the Geneva-based non-profit organization New Synergies in Development concerned
with strategic issues in development connecting with the international agencies based in Geneva.
Gwyneth has shown herself to be a very versatile and talented young woman, working largely as a
freelancer with a wide range of abilities that she has shown herself to apply very effectively. On
several occasions she has effectuated work for NSD where we have required research and
proposal development to be undertaken. This has included work on environmental/sustainability
issues, issues in local economic development and issues regarding social justice, where we
collaborate with other non-profits that include WE CAN Worldwide where I am also on the advisory
board.
I know Gwyneth for her peaceful and calm demeanor. She is always helpful and supportive and
believe in the strength of others especially those she believes are marginalized. She is very patient
and understanding and very good at getting others to buckle down and get work completed. I
have always known Gwyneth to bring a positive outlook to every situation.
Finally, Gwyneth’s capacity to seek out references and to design activities has proved to be
excellent in addressing the issues with which we are concerned and for writing solid papers and
proposals and for carrying out the work.
