Subject: Letter of Reference – Ms. Erasmia Giannoudaki
Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
I have had the pleasure to oversee Ms. Giannoudaki during her internship program at the Unrepresented
Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO), Office of the General Secretary, The Hague, the Netherlands,
from 2 February to 8 August 2015.
During her time at UNPO, Ms. Giannoudaki has proved herself to be an enthusiastic team player and a
dedicated individual. The UNPO internship program demands the ability to work independently on self-
directed projects, strong communication skills, good time management and the ability to multi-task. Ms.
Giannoudaki in turn was required to develop the ability to work with little supervision, and undertook some
tasks that are not normally assigned to interns. Ms. Giannoudaki was responsible for a variety of small duties
at UNPO, including monitoring of news and events and updating the website.
Ms. Giannoudaki’s inter personal and communications skills were very useful to her in the contacts with our
members as well as the meetings and conferences that she organized and participated in. For instance, she
participated in the General Assembly of our organization in July 2015 where she conducted many interviews
with our members. Furthermore, Ms. Giannoudaki was the lead organizer of UNPO’s yearly human rights
training, called SpeakOut!, which was held from 5 to 7 August 2015. In order to successfully complete the
organization of this training Ms. Giannoudaki had to use all of her managerial skills to balance a limited
budget, conflicting agendas of potential speakers, travel and visa issues of the participants as well as the
interests of external parties. She did an admirable job in managing this high profile event and was able to
motivate and coordinate other staff, volunteers and interns who together made this edition of SpeakOut! a
success.
Throughout her work at UNPO Ms. Giannoudaki proved herself to be a dedicated and communicative
person, as anyone who has had the chance to meet her during her time here will attest. I recommend without
any reservation Ms. Giannoudaki for any endeavor she chooses to engage in.
Sincerely,
Jeroen Zandberg
