I recently moved from my home country of the United States after my husband and I decided that we wanted to
relocate to his home country of Sweden. We have an apartment and I am looking for a (preferably) permanent
position with a good company in the Stockholm/surrounding area. I am currently learning Swedish (my third foreign
language). In recent years I have performed the a combination role of Project Engineer (Projektledare), Designer,
and Drafter (Projektör). This was because I have 9 years of civil engineering experience and was recently working in
small offices that required both management and design work from all staff. While working at large companies, I
have worked on projects located in many of the different States within the US, and so I am accustomed to adjusting
design and management approaches to suit the requirements and formats of different governments and communities.

Since graduating from university, I have purposefully diversified my work experience while also specializing in a few
key areas of primarily stormwater management, land development and infrastructure improvements. After working
the required years and obtaining approval to take the exam, I was able to obtain my Professional Engineer (PE)
license; permitting me to have the responsibility of signing my name to design plans and reports prior to beginning
construction. My previous job responsibilities consists of work in several areas of land and infrastructure
development, including preparing designs and permitting applications for municipal/state/federal approval, LEED
certification, interacting with clients and public officials directly, presenting proposed designs to both government
officials and the public, participate in construction meetings, mentor younger engineers, prepare proposals for
obtaining projects, attend and also put together industry education and networking events, assist in monitoring budgets
through the project phases, and both actively drafting and contributing to AutoCAD C3D standards for the company.

My personal background is a diverse experience as I have relocated my life twice before. During my teenage years
my father’s career moved our family from the center of the US (to first Texas and then) to Connecticut just north of
New York City. After moving to Connecticut I was able to gain acceptance to the notably ranked engineering
program at the University of Connecticut, from which I graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil
Engineering. My interests include kayaking, skiing, fishing, oil painting, hiking, and gardening. Now that we live in
Sweden, I look forward to taking up cross country skiing.

Carroll Engineering , Hillsborough, New Jersey                         November 2015  April 2016
Left this position to move permanently to Sweden
Project Engineer

While working in the New Jersey based office I worked on actually several projects which involved various levels of
design and permitting requirements. Here, I was able to experience adjusting to the different design standards and
methods with the regulatory entities and differing permitting processes in a new area (of New Jersey rather than
Connecticut) and also everyday use the AutoCAD C3D platform for land development projects.

Left this position to move to New Jersey to be with my husband
Project Engineer
While working for this larger environmental company I had the opportunity to perform the role of the senior
production engineer. I worked on projects that ran the gamut of the civil engineering profession on a daily basis.
Here, mentoring and training junior engineers in addition to reviewing their work was a notable portion of my
responsibilities. The majority of the project engineers I support within the organization (with engineering solutions)
are not themselves engineers. Being able to decipher what they need and provide recommendations when they fairly
do not know what information they need to provide or what to ask of the engineering department was an extremely
valuable learning experience.

While working for this smaller company I had the opportunity to take the reins on projects and engage in more
designs of the everyday/local project work which my largescale projects of the past did not as often afford. I have
worked on subdivisions and septic designs on confined and challenging terrain, reviewed and signed off on designs,
estimated hours/costs for job proposals, and working directly with clients and municipalities.

CV.GwenBengtsson

  • 1. 198111290584         G WEN   B ENGTSSON ,  PE, LEED AP BD+C                              June 2016    CURRICULUM VITAE  Gwen.Bengtsson@gmail.com  ♦  tel 070 251 70 98      I recently moved from my home country of the United States after my husband and I decided that we wanted to                                          relocate to his home country of Sweden. We have an apartment and I am looking for a (preferably) permanent                                      position with a good company in the Stockholm/surrounding area. I am currently learning Swedish (my third foreign                                  language). In recent years I have performed the a combination role of Project Engineer (Projektledare), Designer,                                and Drafter (Projektör). This was because I have 9 years of civil engineering experience and was recently working in                                      small offices that required both management and design work from all staff. While working at large companies, I                                    have worked on projects located in many of the different States within the US, and so I am accustomed to adjusting                                          design and management approaches to suit the requirements and formats of different governments and communities.      Since graduating from university, I have purposefully diversified my work experience while also specializing in a few                                  key areas of primarily stormwater management, land development and infrastructure improvements. After working                          the required years and obtaining approval to take the exam, I was able to obtain my Professional Engineer (PE)                                      license; permitting me to have the responsibility of signing my name to design plans and reports prior to beginning                                      construction. My previous job responsibilities consists of work in several areas of land and infrastructure                              development, including preparing designs and permitting applications for municipal/state/federal approval, LEED                      certification, interacting with clients and public officials directly, presenting proposed designs to both government                            officials and the public, participate in construction meetings, mentor younger engineers, prepare proposals for                            obtaining projects, attend and also put together industry education and networking events, assist in monitoring budgets                                through the project phases, and both actively drafting and contributing to AutoCAD C3D standards for the company.     My personal background is a diverse experience as I have relocated my life twice before. During my teenage years                                      my father’s career moved our family from the center of the US (to first Texas and then) to Connecticut just north of                                            New York City. After moving to Connecticut I was able to gain acceptance to the notably ranked engineering                                    program at the University of Connecticut, from which I graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil                                    Engineering. My interests include kayaking, skiing, fishing, oil painting, hiking, and gardening. Now that we live in                                  Sweden, I look forward to taking up cross country skiing.     E XPERIENCE  ______________________________________________________    Carroll Engineering , Hillsborough, New Jersey                         November 2015  April 2016  Left this position to move permanently to Sweden  Project Engineer    While working in the New Jersey based office I worked on actually several projects which involved various levels of  design and permitting requirements. Here, I was able to experience adjusting to the different design standards and  methods with the regulatory entities and differing permitting processes in a new area (of New Jersey rather than  Connecticut) and also everyday use the AutoCAD C3D platform for land development projects.     Reference:  Thomas Fik, PE, Office Manager  (and my direct supervisor)   Tom.Fik@carrollengineering.com  +1 908.847.7500 extension 216   Additional references available upon request.      Page 1 of 8

The                              most current releases of the  HECHMS  software and  Hydraflow StormSewers  software was utilized.    CT DEEP Dam Safety Inspection Program , various Connecticut locations  Performing inspections of dams of various hazard levels including high hazard classified dams. Generating the                              inspection report for the client’s use in submitting to the state to maintain compliance with the program. Performing                                    analyses of the dams as necessary to comply with state design standards include the functionality for various design                                    storms.     Redland Brick , South Windsor,  Connecticut  Provided engineering design and analysis associated with the discharge flows of treated water pumped from the                                existing clay quarry. Analysis included the modeling of the existing brook and downstream culvert for the affects of                                    the proposed additional flow with regards to scouring and backwater effects. Analysis of the multlevel pond system                                  integral to the detention of stormwater and discharge flow from the site. Design of the treatment basin utilized for the                                        pretreatment of water pumped from the quarry prior to primary treatment. Design of the discharge culvert and control                                    weir prior to discharging to onsite detention basins in series.   Page 6 of 8
