MID TOWN AREA JUST SOUTH OF THE AMTRAK STATION BETWEEN WOODWARD
AVENUE AND AMSTERDAM. THE SITE WILL INCLUDE RETAIL, FITNESS, AND RESI-
DENTIAL OPTIONS (MICRO-UNITS, FAMILY CONDOS, SENIOR LIVING), THE CONCEPT
IS TO CREATE AN INTERIOR COURTYARD THAT FEATURES VARIOUS PROGRAMS

IF IT IS FLOATING. THE LANDSCAPE UNDERNEATH
THE LIBRARY IS HIGHER AND LOWER IN VARIOUS
LOCATIONS TO ACCOMODATE FOR THE HIGH AND
LOW TIDE WHICH WILL PROVIDE DIFFERENT ACTIV-
ITIES. THE INTENT IS TO BRING THE COMMUNITY
TOGETHER BY COMBINING A MIXED USE DESIGN
THAT WILL SERVE AND SUPPORT THE SURROUND-

THE PROJECT CONSIST OF DEMOING THE EXISTING ABANDONED
MULTI-LEVEL RESIDENCE AND REPLACING IT WITH A SINGLE
STORY 4 BEDROOM RESIDENCE THAT IS APPROXIMATELY 6,700
SQUARE FEET. THE HOUSE IS ROTATED SLIGHTLY WHICH IN-TURN
ALLOWS FOR A BETTER SOLAR ORIENTATION CONTROL AND
VIEWS OF CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN IN THE DISTANCE.

FORM AN OUTDOOR CENTRAL AREA, OR “AGORA.” THE TEAM
USED LOCAL CLIMATIC RESPONSES OF PROPER ORIENTATION,
SUN CONTROL, AND RADIATION MITIGATION TO DESIGN PASSIVE
COOLING THAT EXTENDS THE COMFORT ZONE OF THE AGORA.
