• UV is mutagenic to bacteria,
meaning it can only stunt
reproduction of pathogens and
viruses, not kill them.
• Has a hard time keeping up
with high flow rates.
• UV is not effective when algae
is present in water.

9. Why does oxygen matter ?
• Oxygen levels in your irrigation water allows for
maximum nutrient absorption (super-saturation)
therefore requiring less fertilizer added to water.
• The higher the oxygen levels, the better. The
normal or minimum is 5 PPM.
• Ideal for growing plants is anything above 8ppm
and up to 30 ppm.
• Critical in warm conditions when O2 are at their
lowest.
• Oxygen is the life giving element for all living
things, plants become more resilient and healthy.
