(+)After cultivating clients for a managed services company, I found use in starting networking groups of
people who had like targets in mind. I invited people based on what they could bring to the table in
relation to the other members. I've since stepped out of the, "direct to end user sales roll.” I try to help
people better network to inspire a “go giver” “pay it forward” attitude. NOTE the benefit and strategy is
in putting the extra effort to getting to know your connections and their capabilities, other than sending
an invite.
(OPENING LINE) I find useful a good opening liner like "I am looking to work with a team
where I can utilize my natural abilities to take on challenges through working with others for
a common goal."
(FIRST a few notes) anyone in the position to say “yes or no” regarding employment has viewed 1000+
resumes and Linkedin pages. In order to captivate their attention your first opening line should be 1
sentence that encompasses your ambition.(forgive me for this comment) A CEO has the attention span
of a 5 year old when it comes to looking at resumes so you better grab it quick.
PICTURE: In your picture you want to exude professionalism. Not something you would put up from a
weekend for fb or tinder...whatever
NAME: I hope that is obvious
POSITION: Title of your current position and, a few 1 word descriptions of your skills you use to do that
job
SUMMARY:
 Start off with a…
 3 to 4 word / fragmented sentence, bulleted list…
 Of personal character defining….
 (qualities)(gifts)(positive things God gave you)
Suggestions *Confident in speaking to an audience, *Attentive to new information, *Good Listener as
well as Speaker, *Ambitious to excel, etc.) You have characteristics in your personality that if you
can put them forth for people to read easily, you get recognition and respect quickly. In
PARAGRAPH (after bulleted list): describe what the position you currently hold requires of you
EDUCATION: Be accurate. This won’t necessarily be what gets you the attention for a
connection/opportunity/so on, so convey your current level of education.
RECOMMENDATION: Think of a few people that would write a professional recommendation for you
that you are involved with on a professional level. This can be a teacher, co-worker or boss; someone
you admire who knows you and is credible at what they do. Ask them to kindly write a paragraph that
defines your positive attributes. That will be the only thing on the second page if you can’t keep it 1page
