the metro area.
Duties Include
 Maintenance, diagnosis and repair of Desiro UK class 450 and 444 EMU’s at depots and
outstation locations
 Usingvariouscomputerbasedprogramsto take and analyse downloads, view real time
data and update software on train systems
 Carrying out modification and upgrade campaigns
 Waterloo station based technician to attend units in service and advise train crews
 Attending mainline train failures and incidents
 Communicating via email, telephone, radio and in person with South West Trains,
NetworkRail andotherSiemensstaff regardingtrainfaultsandincidents and in order to
plan repairs
 Writing detailed technical and analytical reports
 Using Citrix Equinox to view, raise, update and close work reports and job cards and to
view and issue material stock
 To follow a safe system of work and ensure appropriate controls are in place before
commencing work
 UsingGenius,Gemini andP2 webbasedprogramsto view train defects, allocations and
present location in order to plan repairs
 Maintaining and ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order

