Volume 94 Issue 4 World’s Largest Kiwanis Club October 26, 2010
BIRMINGHAM - CRADLE OF KIWANIS - CHARTERED 1917
With a background in economics and international relations and more than 10 year experience
working in emerging markets, Allen Collinsworth has established himself as a respected entre-
preneur in Turkey. He founded Fara Group, Inc., a frontier management consulting organiza-
tion employing Turkey’s manufacturing base and competitive workforce to projects in the Mid-
dle East and Central Asia. He has been a Fellow at the EastWest Institute’s Global Security
Program, where he published foreign policy recommendations pertaining to Turkey’s strategic
significance for Western allies. He has lead various efforts to diffuse sectarian tensions includ-
ing the founding of DRUM (Dialogue Respect Understanding through Music), a local Turkish
movement working to foster confidence between the Islamic and Western communities.
In 2009, Collinsworth spent eight months in Iraq as a US defense contractor, running one of the largest reconstruction projects in Anbar Province.
His experience helping the private sector better understand the local climate and forge meaningful alliances in the Middle East makes Allen a valu-
able source of information.
Collinsworth is a graduate of Mountain Brook High School. He earned a BS in Finance from Birmingham-Southern College, an MBA from The
University of Alabama at Birmingham and an MS from the London School of Economics. In addition, Collinsworth is the youngest of five children.
His father, Coy Collinsworth and his sister Carol Collinsworth Hines are Fellow Kiwanians. You may communicate with Allen by email
at ,acollinsworth@faragroup.net.
