3. SCHOLARSHIP IN NEW ZEALAND
There are number of scholarships, grants and bursaries are available which can help
international students financially to study in this country. The New Zealand
government, corporations, universities, and some private organizations provide
financial assistance to international students.
Scholarships in New Zealand are offered on the basis of merit-based, need-based,
student-specific or course-specific grants and the scholarship amount does vary
depending on the course and the profile of the student. The Country’s scholarships
are meant to form a group of well-educated and highly proficient people who can
contribute to generate sustainable growth in developing countries. Scholarships also
help to build strong and enduring links between New Zealand and partner countries.

5. GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS:
• Full tuition fees
• Living allowance (stipend) for basic living expenses–NZ$480 per week.
• Establishment allowance for accommodation and other study expenses–NZ$3000.
• Medical and travel insurance
• Travel allowance, to and fro air fare at the start of the scholarship and at the end of the
scholarship.
• Assistance with research and thesis costs for many postgraduate research students
• New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS)
• Course: PhD
• Scholarship amount: University tuition fees plus annual living stipend of NZ$25,000
(tax-free) per annum, along with health insurance coverage up to NZ$600 per annum.
