- “I want to put a ding in the universe” – Steve Jobs. No one wants to be forgotten in this world, everyone wishes they could be remembered in aeternum. I am also one of those people; I want to make my mark in my field. I don’t even want it to be as wide scale as the universe but leaving proof of your existence is something we as humans strive for.
- Who I am. I am Giovanni Nicolia and currently I’m a student. I plan on becoming an animator in the future and I wish to make myself known to the working world.
- What I want to create. I want to make one of those worlds. I want to make a world that appeals to people as they have appealed to me. I wish to bring more people into the industry by showing them what can be done. The same experiences that I have, is what I want to share with this world.
- Why I’m here. I’m here because I was inspired, all throughout my childhood I’ve played games, having three older brother allowed me that privilege because they would buy everything and I would just play it. I was inspired by the wonderful things I saw in games, how they worked how they moved, the idea of someone’s fantasy world coming to life was amazing to me. Blizzard entertainment was my first exposure to the gaming world.
- The People I want to create for. The lost ones, so to speak. The ones, like myself, who had no idea what to do with their lives, and making a project that helps them figure out what to do with their lives would be my ideal outcome.
- Even if they don’t end up doing what I do, Animating, or working in the game industry, if it even gives them an idea of a career in their lives that’d be great, I also want this project to be engaging and fun for the ones that experience. I want to carve out a path for them, help them find a gateway into which they can just jump into.
- What I believe. Everyone deserves to follow his or her dreams. Even if it doesn’t work out, the chance should always be there for you. No one should be denied that. If you don’t at least try you’re going to end up like this, like everyone else who didn’t have the courage to chase their dreams. Most importantly, I didn’t want to end up like this.
- Take Aim. Find what you’re thriving for in life and try to grab a hold of it. If you can find your goals you can find what would drive you (maybe swap this position around with the “driving force” one)
- Find your driving force. I found mine while down here at Full Sail, but things could have gone very badly if I haven’t. I would have been in a large amount of debt and I would basically be screwed over for a long time. Now that you know what your aim in life is, you can properly find what pushes you to follow it.
- Skills. I can adapt to new programs or systems well, I can pick something up pretty easily once I understand how it works and what the limitations of the program are.
- Tools. Currently I can animate fairly well, and model fairly well and will build upon these in the future. This will help me further my own goals and create something inspiring. I also found this picture appropriate because it shows that the tools have been used, and that there’s still some space to add more tools on the board there.
- Ignite the flame. Do things. Try new avenues of life, find things that may interest you and if not, then you know that’s one thing that doesn’t grab your attention.
- My personal mantra. A persistent creator of paths. (Needs to be expanded on)
- Striving past failure. Like we know, people will always remember if you fail and often don’t care when you succeed unless it was a large-scale success. I want to be one of the people that are remembered for their success. I want to create something so fantastical that people will have no choice other than to go “Oh, that guy? I think I’ve heard of him before”
- How I will create this. I will gather up like-minded individuals, those who want to have an impact on this world or something like that, I don’t really know.
- Where I’ve worked. I will explain where I have worked before, volunteer work, actual jobs and any clubs or such that I’ve participated in school; such as the Drama Club.
- The end point. I want to get a job with a company like Blizzard, mainly because they’re the reason I’m here in the first place. I won’t mind starting out small, though, as that is how it should be. I want to end up in a small company though, not with too many other employees because I wish for camaraderie between my co-workers and myself. Of course I would need to be able to work as a freelancer too.
- Who I want to be. I wish to be a person trusted in the company or group I work with. I want to be seen as capable but not the one with all the power. I don’t necessarily wish to be a leader but if it comes down to it, I’ll try my best. Also I want to be able to bring life into whatever I work on.
- My personal time. Even though I wish for all these things, I want to be able to work on my own hobbies and interests in my own time as well, I will work hard when needed but some rest and relaxation is needed necessary as well. There must be balance between my personal and professional life.
- Side Hustle. I do want to work on other projects on the side though because it will help keep me fresh to work on my Personal Projects. With a new mind on the work at hand each time it will allow me to reach new heights.
- This is success. I view success as the ability to make the best of whatever situation you’re in. Most people see success as black and white, just a factor of how much money you’re able to make. The picture is usually what people think of when they see the word success.
- What you affect. Going off of my earlier point, success can also be a tally of whom you’ve affected and how it has positively impacted their life. Money isn’t the only way to gauge success, notoriety is also a good measure of success.
- Being Known. Being remembered in this world is something that I want, of course it doesn’t have to be a “Remember me for eons” kind of thing, but at least for some time after I have finished working or have passed on.
- I will be remembered. I will be known in the industry and to my audience. I will not rest until I feel as if I’ve properly spread my influence over a wide web or people. Whether they like it or not, I will be known. Flying to a new horizon is what I want to do and I want to land in the clouds.
