Oscar Wilde has beguiled us for generations, and his literary works are as relevant today
as when he wrote them over 100 years ago. “VENGEANCE” is a fresh narrative that tells
his story through the eyes of his life-long friend, Robbie Ross, as participant and narrator,
with all original orchestrated music, songs and stage performance. Faithful to the true
characters and real events that took place, it’s a moving, insightful and compelling drama.
Join us on this exciting journey, and be part of the long-awaited return of live theatre!
1895 began with Oscar Wilde possessing fame, money, and love. In a few short months, he went from
society “hero” to humiliated “zero”, his creative genius irrevocably damaged. His demise and rapid
fall from grace was led by the Marquis of Queensberry, a maverick aristocrat who sought to save his
son and Wilde’s young lover, Lord Alfred Douglas (“Bosie”). The drama explores how events rapidly
unfolded and why both men set themselves on such an obsessive path, rejecting the many
opportunities each had to back down. Their conflict was a symbolic clash between repressed late
Victorian society and the desire for personal and artistic expression. It was a fight without rules, that
ultimately ruined both men and deeply affected their families and closest friends.
We have enlisted ELEANOR FITZSIMONS (author of the critically acclaimed “Wilde’s Women”) and
patron of the Oscar Wilde Society as historical advisor, to ensure that the real events are accurately
portrayed. In addition, we are honoured to have renowned scenographer / director PROFESSOR
PAMELA HOWARD OBE (“living legend of British theatre”) on board as consultant.
The producers had to regroup after the cancellation of a tour of their previous production, “The Story
of Love in The Harbour” due to the covid pandemic in early 2020. Now undefeated, an amazing
ensemble of actors and musicians has been assembled to bring this new production to the stage. A
video of the show will be completed by the end of May 2021 before live performances commence in
late July 2021. Currently, several venues have been confirmed for a tour starting in September 2021,
and we are actively looking for more venues across UK and Ireland.

“Oh destiny, you have been so cruel, and some will say I've been a fool!
A lesser man would seize the chance, to quit and run away to France.
But let the record clearly state, that here in Cadogan 118,
I stayed with friends to face my fate!” Oscar Wilde in “VENGEANCE”
