1. University Projects
In my third our year was required to produce a charity fashion show event to
raise money for Down’s Syndrome Scotland – The Golden Show. I was in charge
of the model team which included roles of model castings, contacting retailers,
hair and makeup artists to support the show as well as selecting outfits for all
the models along with a complementing music choice for each walk. It was such
a successful night and managed to raise over £4700 for Down's Syndrome
Scotland.
I have produced two capsule collections as a part of our module coursework,
where I created a new menswear range for Cath Kidston, which was one of the
very few selected collections among my year to be sent down to the head offices
of Cath Kidston to observe work from our university. Most recently a collection
was created for Urban Outfitters for the grey market which was printed into a
binded document - look book. I found these modules highly enjoyable due to the
creative elements required but also challenging due to the intense amount of
workload needed to create a successful and professional fashion collection.
A part of our Fashion Communication module coursework we had to create
various publications for our university fashion magazine. The tasks included a
fashion article, photo-shootspread, trend article, letter to the editor and a
fashion blog. I found this module highly enjoyable due to the creative elements
required but also challenging due to the intense amount of work load needed to
create a successful and professional fashion magazine.
