1. When COVID-19 first began to disrupt everyday
life, Catchafire reacted by listening to our nonprofit
community first. From there, our platform & service
continually evolved in order to provide immediate
support to our partners while beginning to address
nonprofit recovery and resilience.

While this crisis is far from over, nonprofits are using Catchafire to make strides towards recovery and
resiliency with the help of skilled volunteers.
How they’re responding to the crisis:
As communities begin to confront the mental health
challenges that are associated with the COVID-19
outbreak, Grievewell’s community needs them more
than ever, but these next few months will almost
certainly be a challenge. In order to respond to the
mental health crisis, GrieveWell needs to ensure their
operations continue while working from home and
ensure their systems are able to power them as Ann
Arbor rebuilds.
Responding
Remote Team Strategy
They matched with Megan, a Senior Product Manager, to brainstorm best
practices for managing internal nonprofit operations with a remote staff.
Recovering
Online Content Delivery
Working with Marissa, a program development professional, GrieveWell
was able to leverage an experienced webinar creator in order to learn
how they could upload educational content and webinars as they continue
to support their community through its recovery.
Building Resilience
Tech Systems Strategic Review
In order to invest in their future technological capabilities, they matched
with Justin, a Senior IT Executive, to advise on cloud-based phone
systems as they focus on ensuring they have the most efficient and cost-
effective tech systems going forward.

How they’re responding to the crisis:
During this time, when the health safety net is
needed more than ever, they are working to ensure
vital prescriptions are still provided to patients in
need despite the disruption that COVID-19 is causing.
Responding
Translation
In order to ensure that the information regarding prescriptions is accessible
to all populations that they serve, they worked with Maria, a bilingual
international marketing expert, to translate this critical information for Spanish-
speaking members of the community.
Recovering
Branded Digital Assets
They matched with Ashley, a graphic designer from Minnesota, to create
graphics to more effectively tell the story of their impact to potential
funding partners.
Building Resilience
Marketing Strategy Consultation
Matching with Isaac, a marketing executive, the organization is working
to develop a marketing and communications plan designed to engage
donors and prospects on multiple channels, building awareness for the
organization and the cause, resulting in future financial support.

“Thank you for bringing Catchafire to the nonprofit and pro bono community. Imagine if this wasn’t here and we had
to scramble to engage support in the midst of this crisis. What would we do if we didn’t have a centralized location to
appeal to, attract, and attain the expert support we so desperately need to come out of this thing whole?”
