(sell high volumes at low prices)

differentiation strategy (sell their products at a very large price, which is justified by the
quality of the goods)
3. Primark – large UK retail store – cost leadership – significantly cheaper than most other
retail stores

3. What is the public sector?
Companies that are run/funded by the government.

2. Police stations – law enforcement
3. NHS – provides free/low-cost health care for UK residents
All funded by the government or public (through things like taxing etc.)

4. What is the voluntary sector?
Firms which are not run by the government and also do not exist to
generate profit (non-profit organizations and charities).
1. Community groups – clubs which cater for local residents – can apply for grants
2. Oxfam – charity focusing on poverty – rely on donations and fundraising
3. Barnardo’s – charity which provides care for vulnerable children – donations and
fundraising
