Question Four Who would be the Audience for your Media Product?
The audience for my media product may be those affected by the issue of my film : teenage binge drinking. The area’s most affected by teenage binge drinking are places such as Hartlepool, Sunderland, Liverpool, Hackney and Portsmouth . This could mean that the audience for my product would come from these area’s as they are affected by the issue. http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2009/jun/17/teenage-binge-drinking-bad-behaviour
However, http://www.screenonline.org.uk/film/id/1037898/index.html , suggests that the audience of my media product would not be those affected but those who are not affected. An example that the website uses is when the genre Of social realism was introduced, South Eastern Middle class people wanted to see the genre as it Gave them an insight into how other people lived. This may mean that the audience for my product would be Those who are not affected by the issue but want an insight Into the condition.
Question Five: How did you Attract/Address your Audience?
In order to attract my audience I used my audience research to find the best way to attract them. By doing this I noticed that a highly used source to watch films is the internet. The internet is also highly used by my target audience.
This would help me to attract my audience as they would be able to access my product with ease.
I have addressed my primary audience by having my main character part of the same age group. This way the audience can understand my product and have a fair opinion of it.
My secondary audience would be the parents of the age group in my film. This may limit how my secondary audience would be attracted however many adults have access and know how to use the internet as it is so widely used on networking and information sights.
My secondary audience would be addressed by their empathy towards my character as although they would not understand my character, they will understand and emphasise with the themes and issues of my media product as a parent rather than a victim of teenage binge drinking.
On the other hand, my secondary audience may be addressed in my media product as a victim as the parents of my character could be seen to also be victim.
