This training helps participants learn how to identify and communicate effectively with Deaf people. It discusses that Deaf people may wear hearing aids or cochlear implants, ignore noises behind them, use gestures to communicate, or tell people directly that they are Deaf. Participants are encouraged to recognize that someone's deafness may not be obvious and to pay attention to signs like turning their better ear toward the speaker or speaking loudly due to inability to hear their own voice. The goal is to gain confidence in using appropriate tools to communicate with Deaf people without discomfort.

1. Have you ever met a Deaf person before? Would you be able to
identify a Deaf person in a crowded shop, train or at work? Would
you know how to communicate with them effectively? This training
will enable you to gain confidence in knowing how to use the right
tools without losing your nerve.
