The amazing world of gumball 2 (1)
1. The Amazing World of Gumball
The Amazing World of Gumball (also known simply
as just Gumball) is a British-American surreal
comedy animated television series created by Ben
Bocquelet for Cartoon Network. Produced
primarily by Cartoon Network Studios Europe, it
first aired on May 3, 2011.[4] The series revolves
around the lives of 12-year-old Gumball Watterson,
a blue cat, and his goldfish best friend—adoptive
brother 10-year-old Darwin, who attend middle
school in the fictional city of Elmore. They
frequently find themselves involved in various
shenanigans around the city, during which time they
interact with fellow family members—younger
sister Anais, mother Nicole and father Richard—and
an extended supporting cast of characters.
2. Gumball Watterson
Gumball (formerly Zach) Tristopher Watterson is
the protagonist of The Amazing World of Gumball.
He is a twelve-year-old, blue male cat that goes to
Elmore Junior High, with his adopted brother
Darwin and his four-year-old sister Anais. Gumball
is in Miss Simian's class. As of "The Shell," Gumball is
dating Penny.
3. Early Concept
Originally, Gumball
was meant to be a
blue dog. Not much
thought was put into
this choice as it was
more of a
placeholder than a
final design. As the
creators developed
the character
further,
4. Season 1 Design
In the actual show,
Gumball is a light blue
cat. On his oversized
head, he has six
whiskers, but only
five are visible most
of the time, because
his head is mostly
shown at an angle.
He usually wears grey
trousers, coupled
with a tan sweater,
which has brown
cuffs and a brown
collar.
5. Season 2 Design
In Season 2, his
design changes
slightly. His head and
his whiskers are
bigger, while his eyes
and tooth are
rounder.
6. Season 3 Design
In Season 3,
Gumball's eyes are
permanently round
along with the rest
of the Wattersons.
7. Darwin Watterson
Darwin Raglan Caspian Ahab Poseidon Nicodemius
Watterson III is the deuteragonist in The Amazing
World of Gumball. He used to be Gumball's pet
goldfish, but, one day, he grew legs and generally
adapted to life outside of water, so he was
adopted by the Watterson family.
8. Early reel
Darwin is also shown
to have a bubbly butt
on the back of his
head, as revealed in
the official trailer.
9. Season 1 Design
Darwin apparently
has thick coatings of
blubber, making him
resistant to massive
pain, as he is shown
unharmed in "The
Responsible," after a
painful face-first
slap on a concrete
sidewalk from way
up in the air.
10. Season 2 Design
In Season 2, Darwin
gets a redesign. His
black shadow is more
transparent, almost
to the point where
it's not noticeable.
Also, his legs get
slightly fatter, and
he loses one eyelash
on each eye (two on
each eye instead of
three). Like Gumball,
his eyes are more
round.
11. Season 3 Design
In Season 3, Darwin's
eyes are permanently
round along with the
rest of his family.
