This document describes different types of hotel guest rooms, which are categorized as either common/conventional rooms or uncommon/special rooms. Common rooms include single, double, and twin rooms as well as suites. Uncommon rooms have specialized features and include lanai, Hollywood twin, utility, cabana, studio, and penthouse suites. The document provides details on the characteristics and layouts of the various room types.

5. SINGLE/ DOUBLE ROOMS
SINGLE ROOM: A room
with a single bed facility
i.e. meant for single
accommodation facility.
Size of the bed is 6’*3’.
DOUBLE ROOM: A
room with a double bed
facility i.e.
accommodation facility
for two persons. Size of a
double bed is 6’*6’.
6. TWIN BEDDED ROOMS
A room with two
similar twin beds
separated by a bed-
side table. It is meant
for two persons.
7. SUITE
SUITE: It consists of two
rooms, one is a bed room
and other is a sitting or
living room.
SINGLE SUITE: It
consists of a single room
& sitting or living room
attached to it.
DOUBLE SUITE: It
consists of a double room
with a sitting or living room
attached to it.
8. LANAI
Room is generally
located at the corners
from where nature
can be viewed at it’s
best such as lakes,
rivers, mountains,
seas or forests etc.
14. MURPHY ROOM OR SICO ROOM
A room wherein the
bed can be set up
against the wall when
not in use.
15. HOSPITALITY ROOM
These rooms are
used by in-house
guests who use
these rooms for
entertaining guest,
meetings or parties.
They are charged on
hourly basis for using
these rooms.
16. PENTHOUSE SUITE
A suite room which is
open to sky but the
open part is covered
with glass. This room
is situated on the
topmost floor.
17. DUPLEX SUITE
DUPLEX SUITE: A
suite wherein the
parlor room and the
bedrooms are
situated at two
different levels and
connected by a
staircase. Bed room
is on the upper level
and sitting room on
the lower level.
18. INTERCONNECTING ROOM
Two rooms which are
connected to each
other through a
interconnecting door.
The door can be shut
and locked and sold
as two different
rooms.
19. PRESIDENTIAL SUITE
It is a suite which is
having two or more
bedrooms, each one
having an attached
bathroom.
20. JUNIOR SUITE
A suite wherein a
partition is being
done by using a
wooden board.
21. DOUBLE -DOUBLE & QUAD
ROOM
DOUBLE-DOUBLE
ROOM: A room with
two double beds,
meant for four people.
QUAD ROOM: A
room assigned to four
people and may have
two or more beds.
22. EXECUTIVE ROOM
A room that has a large
bedroom with a sitting
area, provided with
chairs ,sofa & coffee
table. This room has a
workstation / lounge
near the window. This
is really a combination
bedroom-cum-sitting
room.
23. UNCOMMON ROOMS/SPECIAL
ROOMS
ADJOINING ROOMS: Room with a common
wall but no connecting door.
ADJACENT ROOMS: Rooms close to each
other but not adjoining may be across the hall or
a corridor in between.
KING ROOM: A room with a King size bed.
QUEEN ROOM: A room with a Queen size bed.
SHOW ROOMS: It is a display room or a sample
room for showing merchandise.
