This document discusses establishing a non-urgent, non-emergency patient transport system for a large region of Queensland covering 12 local government areas. It notes that transport has long been an issue for communities in the region. While many transport studies have been conducted and services mapped, a coordinated regional solution is still needed. Specifically, the solution needs to provide both local transport within communities as well as connections between regional communities and major cities like Toowoomba and Brisbane. Bringing together local resources and existing solutions could help establish a sustainable network that meets the varied needs of patients in a flexible, low-cost manner.
