High degree of self-learning, which enabled me to transition well to this new position, when I
joined CN Rail as a Mechanical Supervisor.
Supervisor of a team of various trades in installing, maintaining, diagnosing, modifying and
repairing all the PLC Control Systems and various computer systems, throughout West
Edmonton Mall, Parks and Attractions.
Part of a team, which installed and commissioned a new, high technology Thermal Imaging
System, onto the new Challenger Main Battle Tank.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
SUPERVISORY AND PLANNING
The Mechanical Supervisor, of a team of 37 personnel, of various trades across a 3-shift rotation.
The duties included daily checking of Bad Orders Online and then prioritizing the workload to
minimize the downtime, random inspections of cars to make sure guidelines are in place and are
being followed.
Making sure all safety procedures that are in place are followed and any new hazards are
addressed.
The updating of SAP and SRS, in a timely fashion, to enable other departments to maximize their
productivity.
Directly working with the union president, on any issues with the personnel.
Parks Electrical Supervisor of a team of 9 personnel, which included electricians and carpenters.
Duties consisted of planning daily maintenance and repair of all the Parks and Attractions in West
Edmonton Mall (Galaxyland, World Water Park, Eds Rec Room, Deep Sea Adventure/Derby),
including all the purchasing of inventory to achieve this.
Coordinate from start to finish any new electrical/electronic installation of new rides or power
requirements. Implement new upgrades and modifications.
The hiring and training of new personnel for the department.
Assessment and implementation of lock out Procedures and other OH&S areas.
Designed and implemented various electrical/electronic animation systems for a new theme
construction, which was carried out in the amusement parks.
Planned and prioritized the production carried out by 12 technical personnel in various locations,
including Canada and Europe while in the military
2. MAINTENANCE/FAULT FINDING
Electronic Engineering Technologist, working underground maintenance, at Potash Corp
Lanigan. Installing, modifying, commissioning and repairing of various RSlogix 1756 Series, 1794
FlexIO Series, Allen Bradley Micro 800 Series and Modicon TSX PLC controlled equipment (2
and 4 Rotor Borers, Bridge Conveyors, Robotram, Conveyor Starters and Extensible Starters).
Splicing and OTDR testing of all the Fiber Optic expansion throughout the mine using either
fusion splices with pigtails or Mechanical Unicam connectors.
Installation and configuring of Vlans for our underground network (Cisco) and VoIP access
points.
Programming, trouble shooting and fault finding on various Allen Bradley Powerflex 755 AC
drives, Toshiba VFD and ABB DC drive Systems.
The programming and repairing of Hetronic wireless remote transmitter/receivers.
Assisting the electrical department, with other equipment, out of their scope or experience.
Extensive experience in trouble shooting advanced Electronic/Electrical systems, over a vast
range of equipment including; Engine Management Systems on various Tracked Vehicles, PLC
(Microprocessor Based) Controlled Systems, Extensive use of Smart Relays,
Hydraulic/Pneumatic Servo Systems, Arcade Amusement games, Laser Range Finding Systems,
Thermal Imaging Systems, Calibration and testing of own test equipment and also the repair of
the Automatic Test Equipment designed to aid in repair of some of these equipments.
Daily monitoring, calibration and repair of PLC controlled rides including upgrading and
modifying the operation of these rides, including the design and construction of circuit boards or
use of Smart Relays/PLC’s.
A strong mechanical ability, developed over time helping various other trade descriptions.
COMPUTERS
Experience using Oracle for ordering parts.
Trained in Basic Programming and Microprocessor Technology.
Excellent knowledge of DOS and Windows operating systems and the interaction between the
software and hardware.
Able to assist employees, whom have never used computers and support equipment..

Adept at communicating with various levels of management and employees, on a technical and
personal basis.
Always willing to ask questions and listen when faced with new challenges.
While in the Military I assisted the welfare officer in liaising between families and relevant
departments. Some of these duties included handover and takeover of accommodation for married
personnel as well as completing paperwork for relocation of personnel to their new location/unit.
