Gangadhar Joshi & Associates is a multi-disciplinary Management Consulting, Training and
Education organization. Originally established by Gangadhar Joshi as Integrated management Services
(IMS) in 1983, Gangadhar Joshi & Associates has a long history of delivering value to national &

Strategic Change Management
• Lead the Change Management Team to reengineer manufacturing operations of an Integrated
Textile Complex in Dhaka, Bangladesh to transform the same into an entity of profitability
and growth. He established the performance indicators and initiated various productivity
improvement studies in the manufacturing operations. Other major initiatives being lead by
him were development of effective MIS in operations and integration of total supply chain
planning system from cotton to garments.
• Diagnostic Review of the largest agro-industrial company in Trinidad, which assessed its
national socio-economic value and recommended business options to achieve the goal of
financial viability.
• Management audit of the procurement section of the Borough of Chaguanas, Trinidad, with
special reference to productivity and quality aspects.
• Operations Overview of a Television Station in Trinidad on behalf of a commercial bank to
assess its business performance and potential.
• Operations review of a construction products manufacturing company to assess its business
potential from the point of view of forming a joint venture with a major business group in
Trinidad.
• Operations overview of the Tribal Development Corporation (TDC) of the Government of
Maharashtra. This was part of the Total Quality Management implementation in the TDC.
The overview identified various improvement areas of the corporation's services to the tribal

Strategic Business Planning
• Prepared a framework for future expansion of steel industry in Trinidad and Tobago for
presentation to the Hon. Prime Minister and his Cabinet colleagues.
• Participated in a Strategic Planning Workshop and assisted in developing a strategic business
plan for a plastic manufacturing company in Trinidad.
• Operations Overview and development of strategic, corporate and functional objectives for
Electrical Goods manufacturing company in Trinidad.
• Developed a framework of corporate & functional objectives for an Oil Service Company in
Trinidad.
• Project managed a Floppy Diskettes plant in India with investment of US$1.60 million.

Strategic Performance Planning and Management
• Assisted a leading automobile component manufacturing industry in Nasik to implement
Executive Performance Management system oriented towards achievement of the company's
strategic and operational objectives
• Assisted a large group with international operations in improving performance of its Rs.
2000.00 Mn Tube Manufacturing operations. The Company achieved an all time record
production in Dec. 1996 and its on-time delivery compliance improved 94%. The new layout
provided a potential of 30% reduction in cycle time.
• Implemented Performance Management System for 130 Top and senior executives of a large
multinational group having 10 distinct Business Divisions. They include Refrigerators, Air-
conditioners, Materials Handling, and Machine Tools etc. in addition to international trading
activities.
• Assisted an ISO 9001 engineering company in Nasik, manufacturing process automation
equipment for sugar industry in development and implementation of Operational
Performance indicators.
• Assisted a leading carbon electrode manufacturing industry in Nasik, which exports 80% of
its products, to establish its Performance Measures and indicators to enhance the contribution
from the company’s executives to improve global competitiveness of the company’s
products. The client is also being helped to reduce the cost and improve quality of its
operations.
Productivity and Quality Management:
• Productivity Improvement of Bleach Filling and Packaging line of a chemical plant in
Trinidad. The output increased by 58% with 30% reduction in manpower cost per unit.
• Improved management systems and procedures in the machine shop of an oil service
company in Trinidad. After implementation of the improved systems, the management of the
company observed significant improvement in cycle times.
• Improved productivity of handling operations for a Sheet Glass manufacturing industry in
India, reducing manpower requirement from 219 to 95 (Reduction of 56%) with nominal
investment.
• Improved raw materials warehouse for a Cable Manufacturing company in India. The space
utilization increased by 43% and saved the company a huge investment, which it had planned
on a new warehouse.
• Developed production standards for a modern machine shop of an auto-ancillary company in
Nasik, India, using PMTS in addition to developing systems for measurement and monitoring
of productivity.
• Developed and implemented a production planning and control system for a hand tool
manufacturing company, in Ratnagiri, a subsidiary of a major Indian business conglomerate
significantly involved in exports the world over.
• Assisted a leading carbon electrode manufacturing industry in Nasik, which exports 80% of
its products, to improve its materials handling systems, which has a cost impact of US$ 1.00

Institutional Strengthening and Reforms
• Worked on the Orissa Power Sector Reforms Project as a member of the
PriceWaterhouseCoopers team. The assignment involved development of model transmission
core skills training center for GRIDCO at Chandaka in Bhubaneswar with funding from
DFID. It included construction of new training building, procurement of training tools and
instruments, development of training modules, training of GRIDCO trainers and supervising
initial training programmes to be delivered by GRIDCO’s team of trainers.
• Lead PricewaterhouseCoopers Utility Pricing Team on an institutional strengthening project
in Madhya Pradesh. The assignment involved strengthening of local self-government bodies
at various levels. The objective was to create an environment of self-reliant and self sustained
financial position. As a leader of the utility pricing team, managed establishing standards of
service delivery, completing cost structure study and developed a structure for cost based user
pricing. In addition to this developed a manual for pricing of Utilities for use by the local
government administrators and designed & conducted a 5-day training course on utility
pricing for them. This was an Asian Development Bank (ADB) financed project.
• Lead PricewaterhouseCoopers Training team on institutional strengthening project in Orissa.
The assignment involved training and development of employees of GRIDCO, the State
power utility. The assignment objective was to strengthen the management's capability to
effectively manage the utility service to ensure profitable operations and consumer
satisfaction. This was the largest ODA project in India. The training was aimed at cultivating
commercial focus within the utility officers with emphasis on improving Customer Service. It
also was expected to bring about cultural and attitudinal change to meet the reform
objectives.
Human Resource: Planning, Training and Development:
• Conceptualized, designed and developed 6-day duration Training Course on "Training of
Trainers" for Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and Dhaka Electricity Supply
Authority (DESA). The objective of the course was to train a team of senior and middle level
managers of BPDB & DESA in training skills, techniques and methodologies.
