Dear Sir,
LIC offers Life Insurance protection under various groups such as
employer-employees, professionals, firms, co-operatives, weaker
sections of society etc. It also provides insurance coverage to people
at subsidized rates under Different Schemes.
Exit of an employee due to resignation will result in immediate
financial loss to company, as the Employer has to spend considerable
amount of time and money to recruit and train the new employee
and moreover upon exit of an employee, the employer may loose
some of the trade secrets. Than question arises, how does a
company retain the Employees?
The company on the lives of Employees purchases Life Insurance,
which will provide money to their family members in event of their
premature death and also makes provision for their old age. These
additional benefits will act as sufficient inducement to continue with
the present Employer.

CONDITIONS FOR EMPLOYER EMPLOYEE
SCHEME
A. PROPOSAL WILL BE TREATED AS INDIVIDUAL PROPOSAL FROM
THE EMPLOYEE.
B. SUM ASSURED WILL BE DETERMINED ACCORDING TO
FINANCIAL UNDERWRITING OF INDIVIDUAL.
C. IF EMPLOYER IS THE PROPONENT, THE POLICY SHALL BE
ASSIGNED AT THE EARLIEST BY THE EMPLOYER IN FAVOUR OF
EMPLOYEE AS PER THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN EMPLOYER
AND EMPLOYEE.
D. PROPOSAL SHOULD BE SIGNED BY AUTHORISED PERSON
FROM THE EMPLOYER.

•Employees Insurance &Gratuity:
Dear Sir,
Many Companies are adopted /Started following type of suitable beneficiary Plans.
Employees Insurance and Gratuity purpose and company cost cutting and saving
purpose, they have choose LIC plan, which cover employees Insurance and at the
end, they will get the Big amount, you can say this is a Gratuity amount.
Company has to pay the premium and company will get Income tax benefits.
Company can show this amount as a provision for gratuity of the employees.
Company should take the policy according to the Gratuity amount .
You can pay the premium amount Yearly, Half yearly or quarterly. Company can
fix the premium as per the employee’s salary and designation and length of
employees service render.
If the employee’s Death /Accident -occur / happened/ take place, His/Her nominee
will get the amount as per policy, Company will not pay anything, but LIC will
pay. In this case, Less Burden to the company.
Company paid only the premium amount. But employee’s nominee gets the full
benefit.
Tax Benefits of Employer Employee Insurance:
•Premium paid by company will qualify as eligible
business expenses under Sec.37 (1) of the Income Tax Act.
•Premium paid by the company are treated as perquisite in
the hands of the Employee (under Sec.17 (2) (V) of the
Income Tax Act.)
•Employee is entitled to claim tax rebate u/s 80C for the
premiums paid by the employer.
•Maturity proceeds are tax free u/s 10(10D) in the hands of
employee.
Employer Employee Scheme
• Provide insurance on the lives of Executives / Employees as
a perks and security
• encouragement to employees to continues with him.
• Employer may give benefits to his select band of employees
as a reward for good services and who could not be
otherwise compensated.
• The insurance premium paid -employer will get 100%
deduction under section 37(1)-as business expenditure.
• Premium paid by the employer will attract provision under
section 17(2)(v)-income chargeable to income tax at the
hands of employee(if the income is more than 1 lac).
• Maturity proceeds will be tax free in the hands of employee
under section 10(10)(D)of IT Act 1961.

Please note:
1. The company doesn’t require permission of PF authority.
2. The premiums paid are allowable expenses under heading REMUNERATION
& BENEFIT to Employee u/s 32 of Income Tax Act.
3. The expenses under this scheme are genuine expenses and don’t come under
discretionary power of Income Tax.
The company requires big amount to pay gratuity at the time of retirement of the employee.
This amount has to be created during the service period of employee by providing
reasonable amount every year. The amount provided every year for Gratuity can be
invested in LIC. Policy through EMPLOYER EMPLOYEE INSURANCE SCHEME.
This is the provision of the labour laws and income tax,
which indirectly applies for gratuity purpose.

Dear Sir,
Every company is responsible and will take care of their employees
including Medical.
Many companies are taking GROUP MEDICAL Insurance for all
employees,
Some companies CEO are smart, so they are using their Idea and do
some changes and saved company money. Therefore they have taken
Health Insurance for each employee according to their nature of
work and designation/ salary. So it is variable.
Sick employee should admit to the hospital as per the procedure.

Pre-Hospitalization-The medical expenses that you incur due to illness
during the 30 days immediately before you are hospitalized. The same will be
increased to 60 days. If you intimate us 5days prior to hospitalization.
Post-Hospitalization- The medical expenses you incur in the 60 days
immediately after you are discharged from hospital. The same will be increased to
90 days .If you intimate us 5 days prior to hospitalization.
Day- care Procedure- The medical expenses for enlisted 140 day-care
procedure, which do not require 24 hours hospitalization due to technological
advancement are covered.
Cumulative Bonus- You get a Cumulative Bonus (CB) of 10% for every claim-
free year accumulating up to 50% (In the event of a claim, CB will be reduced by
20% of SI on the next renewal)
Portability-If you are insured with some other company’s health insurance and
you want to shift to us on renewal, you can. Our Portability Policy is customer
friendly and aims to achieve the transfer of most of the accrued benefits and
makes due allowance for waiting periods etc.

Insurance Plan you can opt for an additional cover for Critical Illness which covers for Cancer, Coronary artery
(Bypass) surgery, first heart attack ( myocardial infarction). Kidney failure (end-stage renal disease), Major
organ transplantation, multiple sclerosis, paralysis and stroke, This is an optional benefit and can be opted as
per you need. The sum insured for Critical Illness can be either 50% or 100% of your basis sum insured.
Tax Benefits- With the Easy Health Individual/Family Health Insurance Plans you can presently avail
tax benefits for the premium amount under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act. (Tax benefits are subject to
change in Tax Laws).
Health line- Just ring us and quote your customer ID to reach our experts and avail their help in
primary consultation, health –related counseling, individual referrals, health information, nutrition and diet.
The services on the Health line would be available at no extra cost to the customers. They will be constantly
augmented to cover further areas of health and well being to include personalized health and wellness

Cashless Hospitalization- In additional to reimbursement of claims at all hospitals, the Easy
Health Insurance Plan is valid on a cashless basis in over 4000 hospitals listed in the guide book to be sent
along with the policy and updated periodically on our website www.apollomunichinsurance.com
You need to obtain a pre-authorization for all planned admissions atleast 48 hours prior to actual admission or
regularize any ‘emergency’ admission with 24 hours post the admission. The details of the process and the
documentation requirements are given in the guide-book sent along with the policy.
Health Risk Assessment- Every Apollo Munich Health Insurance customer will be
provided with an access to a health risk assessment tool, which helps to profile each
member’s health status through our website. Upon assessment, members will be

  • 12. CONDITIONS FOR EMPLOYER EMPLOYEE SCHEME A. PROPOSAL WILL BE TREATED AS INDIVIDUAL PROPOSAL FROM THE EMPLOYEE. B. SUM ASSURED WILL BE DETERMINED ACCORDING TO FINANCIAL UNDERWRITING OF INDIVIDUAL. C. IF EMPLOYER IS THE PROPONENT, THE POLICY SHALL BE ASSIGNED AT THE EARLIEST BY THE EMPLOYER IN FAVOUR OF EMPLOYEE AS PER THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE. D.   • 13. •Employees Insurance &Gratuity: Dear Sir, Many Companies are adopted /Started following type of suitable beneficiary Plans. Employees Insurance and Gratuity purpose and company cost cutting and saving purpose, they have choose LIC plan, which cover employees Insurance and at the end, they will get the Big amount, you can say this is a Gratuity amount. Company has to pay the premium and company will get Income tax benefits. Company can show this amount as a provision for gratuity of the employees. Company should take the policy according to the Gratuity amount . You can pay the premium amount Yearly, Half yearly or quarterly. Company can fix the premium as per the employee’s salary and designation and length of employees service render. If the employee’s Death /Accident -occur / happened/ take place, His/Her nominee will get the amount as per policy, Company will not pay anything, but LIC will pay. In this case, Less Burden to the company. Company paid only the premium amount. But employee’s nominee gets the full benefit.

Tax Benefits of Employer Employee Insurance: •Premium paid by company will qualify as eligible business expenses under Sec.37 (1) of the Income Tax Act. •Premium paid by the company are treated as perquisite in the hands of the Employee (under Sec.17 (2) (V) of the Income Tax Act.) •Employee is entitled to claim tax rebate u/s 80C for the premiums paid by the employer. •Maturity proceeds are tax free u/s 10(10D) in the hands of employee.

Illustration Employer pays premium (Say Rs 10,000) Employer is eligible for tax benefit under Section 37(1) at corporate tax rates (33.66%) Employer reduces tax liability for the year by Rs 3366/- Employee pays tax in premium at personal tax rate (Rs 3000 for 30%slab) Employee can claim tax benefit under Section 80C (Rs 3000 as set off for 30% slab). Net Tax Liability = 0 A win – win situation for both Note: Personal Income Tax Surcharges not taken into account, but the impact will not change because of that.
