• First of all, George Orwell wrote Animal Farm
because he wanted to notify the world of the
verifiable truth of the story behind the Russian
Revolution. He wanted to summarize the Russian
revolution in a way that anyone can comprehend.
This is why Animal Farm is an allegory to the
Russian Revolution. Fundamentally, Animal
Farm is a political allegory about revolution and
power. Animal Farm is an allegory to the Russian
Revolution; this is proven by the story’s
characters, events, and settings.
3. HOW ARE THE CHARACTERS IN ANIMAL
FARM AN ALLEGORY TO THE RUSSIAN
REVOLUTION:
• Orwell used Animal Farm’s characters as an allegory to the
main characters of the Russian Revolution; that is proven
by the resemblance between the actions and personality of
both fictional and existent characters. There are several
characters that represent the dominant figures of the
Russian Revolution, for example, Snowball which
represents Leon Trotsky and Napoleon which represents
Stalin. Every animal is chosen in animal farm to represent
the real-life characters of the Russian Revolution. Orwell
chose the animals according to their real-life
characteristics, for example, pigs are intelligent in real life
so, that makes them good duplicates for the intelligent
leaders of the Russian Revolution. All Animal Farm
characters speak for the historical figures in the Russian
Revolution.

Snowball
- They both manipulate those who once trusted them to get what
they want.
- They are both leaders.
- Stalin is not as educated as Trotsky while, Napoleon is also not
as educated as Snowball.
- Snowball used squealer, his dogs, and Moses to get hat he want
sand Stalin used propaganda and KGB to get what he likes.
- They are both good speakers.
- They both want what's good for their citizens.
- Snowball was exiled or in better words chased away by
napoleons dogs. Trotsky was chased away by Stalin's secret
police (KGB).
- They are both smart.
5. Adolf Hitler
Mr. Fredrick
- Mr. Fredrick attacked Animal Farm and Adolf Hitler
invaded Russia.
- Mr. Fredrick owns a neighboring Farm that is beside
Animal farm and it is named Pinch field. Adolf Hitler
is the ruler of the country which is next to Russia and
this country is called Germany.
Winston Churchill, the prime
minister of Britain, and Franklin D.
Roosevelt, the President of the U.S.
Mr. Pilkington
- Mr. Pilkington is the owner and ruler of Foxwood
while Franklin D. Roosevelt is the president of the U,s
and Winston Churchill is the prime minister of Britain.

- Mollie craves the attention of human beings and
loves being groomed and pampered.
- The Petit bourgeoisie love being spoiled and love
having all the attention they want.

- They are both cruel:
Mr. Jones beats the animals up with a whip.
Tsar Nicholas is brutal with his opponents.
- Old Major taught the animals animalism while, Karl
Marx invented communism.
- Old Major wants to overthrow Mr. Jones and starting a
rebellion and Karl Marx and Lenin want to overthrow
the government by uniting the working class.
7. HOW WAS THE EVENTS OF ANIMAL FARM
AN ALLEGORY TO THE RUSSIAN
REVOLUTION?
• All of the events that are found in Animal Farm are an
allegory to the Russian revolution; that is demonstrated or
showed by the similarity of actions that happened in both
fabricated and unfeigned stories. There are a variety of
examples that manifest or show the alikeness between
Animal Farm and the Russian revolution events, for
example, Old Major gets ill and Snowball and Napoleon
complete for power. This piece of information resembles
what happened in the real world which, is that Lenin gets
ill so, Stalin and Trotsky complete for power. Another
example is that Trotsky was exiled in history and
Snowball was chased out of the farm in this fictional story
(Animal Farm). The events in Animal farm are all
allegories to the Russian Revolution.
8. Old Major gets ill.
This leads to:
Snowball and
Napoleon complete
for power.
Karl Marx gets
ill.
This results in:
Stalin and Trotsky
complete for power.
9. Snowball was chased by
napoleons dogs. He was
exiled.
Trotsky was exiled
because of Stalin and his
secret police.
The animals started a
rebellion after getting
inspired by old majors
speech.
The citizens started the
Russian revolution after
getting inspired by Karl
Marx's ideas.
10. HOW WAS THE SETTINGS OF ANIMAL FARM AN
ALLEGORY TO THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION?
• The settings in Animal farm are quite essential
because they are all allegories to the settings of the
Russian Revolution. One of the main and most
predominant settings in Animal Farm is Manor Farm
(Animal Farm), which is a model for Russia. Orwell
chose Manor Farm to represent Russia because,
Farms behest an outstanding amount of work, much
like a country. Animal Farm’s setting helps
embellish how dishonesty and double-dealing
increases with power. The settings of Animal Farm
and the Russian Revolution are unbelievably similar.
12. THE CONCLUSION:
• In the end, Orwell used many strategies that make
Animal Farm one huge allegory to the Russian
Revolution. He used allegory in the events, the
setting, and characters of both worlds. Basically,
Animal Farm is a story in which the events,
characters, and settings stand for something
besides themselves. Animal Farm is mostly famous
because, it is an allegory. That is why every reader
who reads Animal farm understood it very well
and felt that the two stories are incredibly
indistinguishable.
