called PHIL. The camera showsPHILwalking into the office whereTHE WARDEN is waiting patiently
THE WARDEN
“We believethatyouhave made sufficientprogressduringyour9yearswithus. Your rehabilitation
processiscomplete andwe feel thatyouare readyto be enrolledintocivilianlifeone again”
PHIL
“Is that all its been. Only 9 years”
THE WARDEN
“You arrivedhere asa criminal andyou’re leavingasareformedhumanof society, yes it has taken a
while but the point is you are leaving”
PHIL
“It feels like a lifetime to me”

Flashback,PHILremembershowhewasput into jail. PHIL and his friend MATT are walking down a
deserted road towardsa set of garages
PHIL
“Hurry up, we’re already late”
The camera followsthem until theycome toIAIN (DrugDealer)

“Where have you been, you know it’s not safe for me to show my face around here”

“I know,I apologise onbehalf of myfriendhere,he doesn’tunderstandwhatthe wordhurrymeans”

“Let’s get this done, I feel vulnerable out in the open”
The two of themthenproceedto exchange PHIL’smoneyand IAIN’sbag
IAIN
“Right, I’m getting out of here. Enjoy your stuff”
IAIN thenleavesthe shot.MATTand PHIL proceedtoleave the areawhen PHIL checksthe bag,
whichisin fact empty
PHIL
“We’ve been completely stitched up here”
The diegetic sound of Police sirens go off which makeMATT run off and out of shot,leaving PHIL
alonewith the emptybag
PC WALTERS (policeman) comesinto shotand goesto arrest PHIL
PC WALTERS
“Games up mate, you’re under arrest”
The camera shows PCWALTERS taking PHIL away,presumably to thepolice station
The camera then goesbackto interior 1 and continueswherethe previousconvocation between THE
WARDEN and PHIL ends
THE WARDEN
“With your release coming up in a few days, where will you go?”
PHIL
“I’m going home; I’ve got unfinished business to deal with”
The camera then showsPHILleaving interior 1 and heading backto his cell.
