1. In what ways does my media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of
real media products
My mediaproductisfairlysimilaranddifferenttothatof real mediaproducts.Itshowssome
techniquesthatdirectorsandproducersuse in2015 but alsohas differencesatthe same time.
In myfinal mediaproductithas got a few similaritiestothatof expendables3.In bothof the films
theyare fastpacedand the actors are speaking aggressivelythisisone of the filmsthatI usedinmy
initial researchtosee whatIneededtoinclude andithelpedme tomake the actors seemaggressive
and make the whole thingfastpaced. Alsointhe expendablesitisclearto see whichsidesthe
individualactorsare on, thereโsthe expendablesteamandthenthe badguys whoare onthe train.I
triedto mirrorthisin myfinishedproductwithoutthe large budget.IshowedthatMax and Tom
were workingtogethertocatchEd (the badguy).
Howeverthere are differencesinbothof the opening2 minutes.Firstlyinmyfinishedmediaproduct
I have a lot of footchase scenesbutinthe expendablesthere isnโtmuchchasingonfootitโsina
helicopterandina train,I thinkthis is, mainlybecause of the 100% largerbudget butitโsstill a
difference.Furthermore inthe expendablesthe actorsare dressedfor the situationwell, inarmy
gear almostwhereasmyactorswere injeansand jumpers, thisisbecause of the factthat I wanted
my openingtoseemlike the people initwere thuggishandquite relaxed.
Overall inreal mediaproductscomparedtomostamateur filmmakerfilmsthere are similaritiesand
differences.Icomparedmyfilmopeningtothatof the expendablesandthere were similaritiesand
differences.
