Storie della Bibbia: Gentilezza - Bible Stories: Kindness
1.
2. In one story Jesus
told, a man was
traveling from
Jerusalem to Jericho
when thieves robbed
him, beat him, and
left him for dead.
In una storia
raccontata da Gesù,
un uomo era in
viaggio da Gerico a
Gerusalemme,
quando dei ladri lo
assalirono, lo
picchiarono e lo
lasciarono per morto.
3. After a priest and a Levite had passed without helping, a Samaritan (a race despised by the
Jews of Jesus' time) had compassion on the poor man and brought him to an inn in the
next town.
Dopo che un
sacerdote e un
levita erano
passati senza
aiutarlo, un
samaritano (gente
disprezzata dagli
ebrei del tempo di
Gesù) ebbe
compassione del
poveretto e lo
portò in una
locanda nel paese
più vicino.
4. Il giorno dopo il
Samaritano tirò
fuori due monete
d'argento, le diede
al padrone
dell'albergo e
gli disse: 'Abbi cura
di lui e se spenderai
di più pagherò io
quando ritorno''.
(Luca 10:25-37)
The next morning the Samaritan gave the innkeeper two silver coins and said, "Please
take care of the man. If you spend more than this on him, I will repay you when I return."
(Luke 10:25-37)
5. Your neighbor is anyone
that needs your help.
Jesus says, “Treat others
as you want them to
treat you.” (Matthew
7:12)
Il nostro prossimo è
chiunque abbia bisogno
del nostro aiuto. Gesù
disse, "Tutte le cose
dunque che voi volete
che gli uomini vi
facciano, fatele anche
voi a loro." (Matteo 7:12)
6. One Sabbath day Jesus went to eat dinner in the home of a leader of the Pharisees. He said,
“When you put on a luncheon or a banquet, don’t invite your friends, brothers, relatives,
and rich neighbors. For they will invite you back, and that will be your only reward. Instead,
invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then God will reward you for inviting
those who could not repay you.” (Luke 14:1;12-14)
Gesù entrò di sabato in casa di uno dei
principali farisei per prendere cibo, ed
diceva pure a colui che lo aveva invitato:
"Quando fai un pranzo o una cena, non
invitare i tuoi amici, né i tuoi fratelli, né i
tuoi parenti, né i vicini ricchi, perché essi
potrebbero a loro volta invitare te, e così
ti sarebbe reso il contraccambio; ma
quando fai un convito, chiama poveri,
storpi, zoppi, ciechi. Il Signore ti
ricompenserà per avere invitato quelli
che non possono contraccam biare".
(Luca 14:1;12-14)
7. When it was time for supper,
Jesus got up from the table, took
off his robe, wrapped a towel
around his waist, and poured
water into a basin. Then he
began to wash the disciples’ feet,
drying them with the towel he
had around him.
All'ora della cena, Gesù si alzò da
tavola, si tolse la veste e si legò
un asciugamano intorno ai
fianchi, versò l'acqua in un
catino, e cominciò a lavare i piedi
ai suoi discepoli. Poi li asciugava
con il panno che aveva intorno ai
fianchi.
8. After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you
understand what I was doing? Since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you
ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done
to you. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
(John 13)
Gesù terminò di lavare i piedi
ai discepoli, riprese la sua
veste e si mise di nuovo a
tavola. Poi disse: “Capite
quello che ho fatto per voi?
Se io, Signore e Maestro, vi
ho lavato i piedi, anche voi
dovete lavarvi i piedi gli uni
gli altri. Io vi ho dato un
esempio perché facciate
come io ho fatto a voi. Da
questo conosceranno tutti
che siete miei discepoli: se
avete amore gli uni per gli
altri”. (Giovanni 13)
9. Those first Christians turned the world upside
down with the love of God. The way they lived
convinced others that their faith was real. The
Roman author Tertullian (c.160–c. 225), when
speaking of the early church, reported that the
pagans would exclaim, “See how they love one
another!” Clearly the Christians’ concern and care
was visible in their actions, attitudes, and words.
10. “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will say to
those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared
for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and
you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and
you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
«Quando il Figlio dell'uomo verrà
nella sua gloria con tutti gli angeli,
dirà a quelli della sua destra:
"Venite, tu, i benedetti del Padre
mio; Ereditare il regno che è stato
preparato fin dalla fondazione del
mondo. Perché fame e mi deste da
mangiare; Ebbi sete e mi deste da
bere; Fui straniero e mi accoglieste;
fui nudo e mi vestiti; Fui ammalato e
mi visitaste; Fui in prigione e veniste
a trovarmi ".
11. “Then these righteous ones will reply,
‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry
and feed you? Or thirsty and give you
something to drink? Or a stranger and
show you hospitality? Or naked and give
you clothing? When did we ever see you
sick or in prison and visit you?’
“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the
truth, when you did it to one of the least
of these my brothers and sisters, you were
doing it to me!’” - Jesus, Matthew 25:31-40
Allora i giusti gli risponderanno: "Signore,
quando mai abbiamo visto affamato e ti
abbiamo dato da mangiare? O assetato e ti
abbiamo dato da bere? Quando mai
abbiamo visto straniero e ti abbiamo
accolto? O nudo e ti abbiamo vestito?
Quando mai ti abbiamo visto ammalato o in
prigione e siamo venuti a trovarti? "
E il re risponderà loro:" In verità vi dico
che in quanto hai fatto uno di questi miei
minimi fratelli, hai fatto a me ". - Gesù,
Matteo 25:31-40
