vertical thinking - the obvious
incubation: step away from it for a sec

ocular reconnaissance - look at other stuff for inspiration

what makes a good symbol -
-positive association with the product/service
-easy ID


logo ->logotype-> logo=word, type/typos = impressions, in greek

logo can be piece of typography, symbol, picture, or all of these

sums up connected task of conceiving a distinctive graphic for that has commercial
value

effective logo must be"
        familiar enough to be recognizable

        simple enough to read instantly
        enough detail or meaning to be interesting
        memorable and appropriate to the ideas and activities it represents
