2. When we talk about test coverage and finding the right bugs at the right time, we need to be sure of how effective we
can be with the use of Techniques and the skill we have. Very recently James Bach has spoken at Test Bash 2013 about
one of the heuristics of boundary testing called Galumphing”; it was a very informative and interesting talk; In light of
the same, we have developed a complete workshop encompassing not only “Galumphing” but also “Steeplechase”
and “Leap and Creep” heuristics in one complete workshop.
This workshop introduces you to Context Driven approach to boundary testing and teaches you how to do it by
practical computer application exercises. So you can learn to perform such testing and also write good reports
reflecting your test story.

Arslan Ali
Sr. Consultant SQA - Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates
Mr. Arslan Ali has more than 14 years of Experience related to IT, Industry and Training Institutions with exclusive experience of 5 years in teaching
various disciplines and projects in IT Institution. He has worked in various roles in capacity of Software Engineering, Software Tester, Trainer and Quality
Assurance Roles. The Major focus of his expertise lies in Coordination, Implementation and Testing of ERPs and Customized Applications.
Currently Arslan is working as a Senior Consultant – Information Solutions at Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates and heading the QA and Testing Team
alongside Quality Management Representative Activities. His responsibilities also include training and coordinating amongst various key teams and
resources such as Development, Customer Support, Implementation and Quality Assurance. During his tenure at Sidat Hyder, Arslan has successfully
implemented the issue tracking system for client and inter-team coordination.
Besides Sidat Hyder, Arslan has working experience at ICAP – Karachi as Assistant Manager Examination in IT Section, Mehtabi Towel Mills as MIS
Coordinator, and Manager Project Teams at College of Digital Science. Arslan has also been a visiting Faculty member at IIS – PAK for ACCA Students and
a consultant for ISO at Delta Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
As a Software Tester Arslan is not only working as a QA lead at Sidat Hyder but is also a very active professional on online professional networks. He is
managing “Software Testers and QAs from Pakistan” group on LinkedIn with 1400 members. The primary role of this group is to provide assistance,
awareness and guidance to the New and Experience IT professionals, especially Software Testing and Quality Professionals. The group has extensive
discussions related to Testing and QA scenarios, blogging and also job placement and postings.
Arslan is also a founding member of STEP – Software Testers Engagement Program, which is a volunteer program for Software Testers and Quality
Assurance Professionals across Pakistan. The main aim of STEP is to engage Students, Fresh Graduates and Experienced professionals in activities and
career lines related to Testing and Quality Assurance. STEP has conducted several sessions at different universities in Karachi and is also planning to the
same in Lahore. The sessions conducted so far at NED, DIHE, PAK – KIET, NICE and Etilize Pakistan.
