Fisher & Paykel Finance Ltd is a New Zealand finance company that provides investments, insurance, and credit to individuals, families, and businesses. It began in 1973 renting televisions and has since expanded to offer credit cards, insurance, and equipment financing. Fisher & Paykel Finance employs over 200 staff and works with over 500 merchants across New Zealand to offer its services. It provides products under four brands: Q Card, Farmers Finance Card, consumer insurance, and equipment finance.

The Fisher & Paykel Finance Group of
Companies provides investments as well as
insurance and credit to individuals, families
and businesses. With the respected Fisher &
Paykel name behind us, we are proud of our
reputation for helping New Zealanders at
home and in business.
We pride ourselves in looking after our staff
and our customers and providing the best
possible service at all times.

3. Where F&P Finance came from
• 1973 - The finance business began with its primary activity of renting televisions to
New Zealanders under the name of F&P Dealer Rentals Ltd.
• 1990 - CAS (Customer Approval System) is launched – pioneering ‘on the spot’
online point-of-sale credit approval in retail stores.
• 1992 - One of the first finance companies to support ‘Interest Free’ promotions into
the mainstream as a payment option for consumers.
• 1996 - Insurance introduced to provide consumer purchase protection and
extended warranty.
• 2003 - Fisher & Paykel Finance Group formed an alliance which involved the
acquisition of the finance and insurance business of The Farmers Trading Company.
• 2004 - Q Card is launched – an innovative revolving credit product that gives
cardholders the opportunity to use pre-approved credit for purchases in a wide
range of popular stores.

• Fisher & Paykel Finance employs over 200 staff.
• Over 100 of these staff members work in our call centre keeping our customers
happy.
• We are led by Alastair Macfarlane our managing director.
• We are based in East Tamaki, Auckland however we have staff working
throughout New Zealand to ensure that finance at our merchant’s stores is
operating smoothly at all times.
• We work with over 500 merchants – both big and small – from all over New
Zealand, to provide them & their customers the credit facilities of Q Card and
Farmers Finance Card in their stores.

Fisher & Paykel Finance offers a range of products in investments, credit,
insurance and equipment loans. We work under four key brands:
•Q Card – a credit card alternative that offers customers 3 months no
payments and no interest on all purchases*.
•Farmers Finance Card – a credit card alternative that offers customers
exclusive discounts at Farmers on cardholder days held throughout the
year.
•Consumer Insurances Services – insurance for our customers so they can
protect themselves against the unexpected.
•Equipment Finance – to supply New Zealand businesses finance for
equipment.
