Instagram's main issue appears to be that it is no longer a novel app. It is no longer the cultural
leader that it once was since all of its tools and features are so copycat. The app has also strayed
further from its original intent and into an area resembling YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, and even
early iterations of Facebook due to its concentration on highlighting more material from users
you don't follow.

feeds as concerns about inflammatory speech and "cancel culture" have grown. This has sparked
a growing tendency for smaller, more intimate groups for the sharing and discussion of content.
