2015 Fall RTW Collection
There was a spare and modern
— yet glamorous — feel to Os-
man Yousefzada’s fall collection,
worked in a palette restricted to
red, white and black, but fash-
ioned in rich, contrasting textures.
“I just wanted to do a tight col-
lection that allows the silhouettes
to really shine,” the designer said.
His shapes ran from structured
to cocooning to fluid. One coat
dress with a stiff skirt was done in
a glittery red, marble-patterned
brocade, while a sporty black zip-
pered jacket was paneled in plas-
ticized, quilted velvet. The most
appealing looks were those at the
more languid end of the spec-
trum — a bias cut, deep red silk
skirt paired with a matching knit
sweater, or a halter neck jumpsuit
with a glittery black bodice and
elegant draped pants.

Lose Your Weight
With Simple
Yoga Poses
•Yoga can be
a fantastic
way to achieve
and maintain
the body you
want.
•Scientific
research has
been showing
links between
weight loss
and yoga.
•More vigor-
ous styles of
yoga include
Ashtanga and
Bikram.
Researchers in one
U.S. study, for exam-
ple, followed more
than 15,000 healthy
men and women aged
between 53 and 57.
Those who started out
overweight but did at
least one session of
yoga a week lost about
5lb over ten years,
while those who didn’t
gained almost a stone.
In another study, a
group of heart patients
with narrowed coro-
nary arteries were put
on a low-fat vegetarian
diet and told to prac-
tise yoga regularly.
They recorded almost 24lb of
weight loss over the first year, and
five years later had maintained
more than half of that original
loss, as well as reversing the heart
disease. The American Journal of
Lifestyle Medicine, which recently
reviewed several studies of yoga
and weight loss, also concluded
that yoga is a successful slimming
tool, not only burning calories and
enabling people to improve their
performance in other sports, but
making them more mindful of their
bodies, which in turn may lead
them to eat better. All this week, in
a brilliant new series, the Mail is
focusing on yoga and its many ben-
efits for old and young, fit and unfit.
Most people imagine that yoga is some-
thing gentle and mindful, not a form
of exercise that will help shed excess
pounds. But it’s also a fantastic way
to get, and keep, the body you want.
There’s not just the anecdotal evidence
of many yoga devotees who say it helps
them stay trim and toned. Scientific
research is increasingly backing up the
link between yoga and weight loss.

They recorded almost 24lb of weight loss over the first
year, and five years later had maintained more than
half of that original loss, as well as reversing the heart
disease. The American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine,
which recently reviewed several studies of yoga and
weight loss, also concluded that yoga is a successful
slimming tool, not only burning calories and enabling
people to improve their performance in other sports,
but making them more mindful of their bodies, which
in turn may lead them to eat better.
All this week, in a brilliant new series, the Mail is
focusing on yoga and its many benefits for old and
young, fit and unfit. We are showing how you can in-
corporate simple yoga routines into your daily life in
the comfort of your home. The beauty of yoga is that
it can be adapted to virtually anyone’s needs — so no
matter what your age, shape or fitness level, you’ll be
able to take part.
So how can it help you to lose weight?
For a start, there are several styles of yoga that are
highly vigorous. If you want to join a class specifically
with the aim of burning calories, look for Ashtanga
yoga classes — a series of fast-paced postures — or
Bikram yoga, a sequence of 26 postures performed
in a room heated to around 40c (104f). As a bonus,
many people I know who do yoga find themselves
craving fruit, vegetables and grains, rather than ham-
burgers and chips. All that stretching, bending and
focusing on the body seems to kill the appetite, leav-
ing a desire to eat healthily.
As someone whose first waking thought is often
‘What’s for lunch?’ I can testify that if I do my yoga
practice in the morning, lunch no longer seems quite
so urgent. Yoga can give you the skills you need to
maintain weight loss. Make it a regular fixture in your
life, persist with the breathing exercises and postures,
and you will be less depressed, less stressed and more
aware of the reasons you may be overeating, which in
turn will enable you to break unhealthy habits. You’ll
also become more toned and far more flexible. Finally,
practising yoga will do something even more import-
ant — it will help improve your self-image and make
you happier.
This classic flowing sequence of pos-
tures is at the heart of modern Yoga
Pose and can be a complete practice
in itself or a preparation for a longer
routine.
Traditionally performed in the morn-
ing to greet the new day, it forms
the backbone of most types of yoga
and employs various forward and
backward bending poses that flex the
spinal column, giving a profound,
energising stretch to the whole body.
Because it is an energetic sequence
that tones every muscle group in the
body, it’s great for burning calories,
building strength and stamina, im-
proving circulation and detoxifying
your internal organs through en-
hanced oxygenation.
It has a deeply
relaxing and
rejuvenating
effect.
In other words, this is a full body
workout like no other, which explains
its popularity. I would recommend
doing this sequence at least five times
a day if weight is an issue. But even
if you only do two sequences a day,
you’re doing your figure a massive fa-
vour. There are small variations in the
way yogis do this sequence, but the
most important thing is the synchro-
nisation of the motion of your breath
with the movement of your body.
Basically, all upward movements are
coupled with inhalation, and down-
ward movements with exhalation.
MOUNTAIN POSE:
Start in Mountain pose: stand up
tall, feet together or a little apart,
arms at your sides. Place your
palms together in a prayer po-
sition, roll your shoulders back
and down and lift your chest.
INHALE:
Inhale through your nose and
extend your arms above and
behind your head.
FORWARD BEND:
Inhale, step forward one foot
and then the other between the
hands, looking ahead. Then ex-
hale into a forward bend.
HALF STANDING
FORWARD BEND:
Inhale and lengthen your spine
forward into a Half Standing
Forward Bend, with your fin-
gertips on the floor and gaze
focused ahead.
PLANK POSE:
Exhale and step, or lightly hop, your feet behind you to get into a Plank pose, arms
straight underneath your shoulders and legs straight behind you. Your back should be
flat and your core engaged. Hold for a second, then, in a snake-like movement, lower
yourself towards the floor. Then lower your chest and chin to the floor, keeping your
elbows close to the sides of your ribcage, and flatten your feet to the floor.
SWAN DIVE:
Swan dive into a standing for-
ward bend, exhaling through
your nose and placing your
hands on your legs as close
to your feet as you can. Bend
your knees a little if your
hamstrings are tight, to pro-
tect your back.
STANDING
POSE:
Lower arms into origi-
nal standing pose.
COBRA POSE:
Inhale as you push down with your arms and raise your head,
shoulders and upper body as far as you can without straining.
This is the Cobra pose. Look upwards, roll shoulders back and
down and keep elbows in. Firm up your kneecaps and thighs to
prevent them lifting off the mat.
DOWNWARD FACING DOG:
Exhale into Downward Facing Dog; walk hands
forward and slightly farther apart than should-
er width, and spread fingers wide for stability.
Then curl toes under and press your hips
upwards so your body is in the shape
of a triangle, with your bottom as the
apex. Make sure your neck and
shoulders are released and relaxed.
If your hamstrings are tight, keep
your knees slightly bent. Take
five deep breaths.
Beauty Tricks Every Woman
Should Know
There is nothing more
gratifying than finding
a simpler yet effective
DIY trick. Let the cliche
“Beauty comes at a
price” die a natural
death with our awe-
some beauty hacks,
and make your life
simple.
Looking beautiful has
never been this easy.
Ditch the gold digging
salons, and convolut-
ed makeup advice.
We bring to you seven
most easy home tips
for a beautiful you.
Here are a few tricks of
the trade, every wom-
an should know.
If it’s your first time
using a particular hair
colour product, you
need to conduct a 24
hour patch test in the
same shade and pro-
portion of mixture that
will be used on your
hair.Apply the patch
test behind the ear or
the inside fold of the
elbow.
43
Allow the mixture to re-
main on the test area
for 24 hours to deter-
mine if you develop
an allergic skin reac-
tion to the product.If
you have oily skin and
are prone to acne, be
careful about what
sunscreen you apply
to your face.
Use an oil-free brand
that is non-com-
dogenic and dries soft
to the touch, instead
of feeling greasy
and moist like other
brands.Long lasting
lipsticks can be tough
to remove.
When you’re in a bind
and don’t have any
make-up remover
handy, head over to
the kitchen! You can
put some sweet al-
mond oil on a cotton
ball and say goodbye
to that long lasting
lipstick.
Fill a foot basin with
cold mint tea and ice
cubes.
Soak your tired feet in this bath for a few minutes.
The mint will cool and relax your muscles, help-
ing release the tension and relieve discomfort.
Before beginning your shampoo and condition-
er routine, massage a quarter size dollop of co-
conut oil into your hair.
Leave the oil in for ten minutes before returning
to your shampoo and conditioner routine. The oil
will leave your hair feeling noticeably softer.
Make your brunette locks go from flat to fabu-
lous with one of the most popular sweet treats
around, chocolate. Mix a teaspoon of unsweet-
ened cocoa with a few dollops of shampoo in
the palm of your hand.
Wash your hair with this mixture and rinse. The
colour of your hair will look richer and you’ll smell
good too!
One of the best ways to get
naturally pink lips is to regu-
larly exfoliate your lips with a
toothbrush.
All you need to do is dampen
a soft-bristled toothbrush and
gently rub your lips using small
circular motions.
This sloughs off dead skin and
stimulates blood flow to the
lips, making them soft and
pink.

That Will Change the Way
There are a lot of reasons to trek backstage at New York
Fashion Week: the models, the celebrities, the nails, and
the beautiful beauty looks. But perhaps the most appeal-
ing aspect is that we get access to the top-tier makeup,
hair, and nail pros in the world.
These experts fly in for one week only to make sure ev-
ery model is done up to perfect. And us beauty reporters
are by their side, recorders out, soaking in all of their
knowledge. But we’re not greedy! So, here, we’ve round-
ed up all of the the genius tricks and tips we’ve overhead
backstage at the New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 tents.
Keep reading to learn everything from how turn your
favorite shimmery lipstick into a velvety matte one to a
savvy new way to create an ombre manicure.
Correct a Hair Oil Overload:
You just wanted to add a touch of shine
to your blowout, but oil turned your
style into a flat, greasy mess. First rub a
towel through your strands, then apply
a dry shampoo or dry texturizing spray
like Redken Windblown to lift the roots
again. If it’s really gone too far, use baby
powder to soak up the oil slick. And a
tip for next time: “When you’re using
any product with shine in it or serum,
spray it on your hands first,” Guido rec-
ommends. “I always recommend to use
[product] slowly at first.”
Get Flawless Ombré Nail Art in one step:
You could layer multiple layers of polish to get the
perfect ombré manicure, but in reality that would
take forever to dry (and consequently smudge)!
Instead, apply your three gradient shades of nail
polish to a makeup sponge then dab it on each nails,
creating the gradient pattern. Manicurist Cinnamon
Bowser used a similar technique backstage at ICB
with Zoya shades Taylor, Adel, and Flynn creating a
subtle French manicure effect.
Apply Cream Blush With Your Fingers:
Remember the ’80s when blush took over your entire
cheek from lip to brow? Thank goodness trends are
fleeting! Backstage at Misha Nonoo, Bobbi Brown
makeup artist Marc Reagan taught us the more
modern way to apply cream rouge — with your
fingers. First smile and place product on the shelf of
the cheek. Then, dab the color all the way back to-
wards the hairline. Finally use a separate clean finger
to blend it downwards. “[This technique] keeps the
blush high on the cheek which is lifting, and it covers
the right area of the cheek where you naturally flush,”
he said.
Make Matte Last Longer:
A matte top coat seems cute in theory, but it can
reveal every uneven brush stoke and nail ridge for
the DIY manicurist. The solution: paint on a regular
top coat first. OPI nail lead Miss Pop used a similar
layering technique backstage at Marissa Webb to seal
in the linear negative space nail art.
45
Mattify Your Favorite Lipstick:
Problem: you love a certain lipstick
shade, but wish it were matte. Backstage
at Tibi, makeup artist Cassandra Gar-
cia pressed Bobbi Brown Pink Martini
lip shade on the pout, then dusted the
mouth with Porcelain Pearl blush to
create an original matte hue. As with any
matte lip color, make sure to let the lips
marinate in lip balm first to rectify any
dryness. This trick will also transition
your favorite bright Summer lip hue to a
more velvety, Fall-appropriate finish.
Thin Out Pigmented Polish:
Your most saturated bold nail polish is
so much more than a one-coat wonder!
You can transform it into a sheer shade
with a clear top coat — but avoid your
superfast-drying standby. “Quick-dry
formulas affect the pigment because it’s
drying as you paint,”. Do it at home by
pouring equal parts of lacquer and top
coat into an empty nail polish bottle and
mixing up your new formula. Then, test
your blend on a piece of paper. If it’s still
too pigmented, add more top coat.
Fake Seamless Fringe:
We’ve heard dozens of fringe horror sto-
ries, but you can take the look for a test
run with this easy strategy using clip-in
bangs. Yes, you can make faux fringe
look authentic, and Tresemme hairstylist
Jeanie Syfu showed us how backstage at
Marissa Webb.
First, create a deep center part. Then
make a horizontal part about half an
inch back from the hairline. Tease the
hair at the scalp to create a grip for the
clips. Next, pin back the two sections
of hair on each side so you have a nice
frame. Clip in the bangs, and trim them
to your face. “Try to get human hair
because it always looks better,” said Syfu.
“If you do use synthetic try to knock out
that plastic shine with dry shampoo. “
Create Perfectly Imperfect Texture:
Everyone wants the cool-girl, undone look of a
windswept ponytail, but achieving it at home usually
results in a style that’s more messed up than mussed.
Bob Recine for Moroccanoil revealed his tech-
nique to perfect imperfection backstage at Monique
Lhuillier. “After creating the ponytail, I loosely go
over the front pieces with a brush, picking them up a
little bit.” You should use a very light hand to do this
as you are only trying to pull out small, wispy sect-
Play With Your Tools:
Precise, geometric nail art isn’t just for the accu-
rate hands of a manicurist — all you need to do is
upgrade your everyday striper brush with a quick
modification. Jin Soon Choi suggests cutting the tip
off the brush. Instead of the standard pointed tip
(like a V-shape), hold your scissor perpendicular to
the brush handle and snip the tip straight across to
create a flat, squared-off edge.
Turn Eye Shadow Into Highlighter:
When you need to pack light, throw a creamy, shim-
mery neutral eye shadow in your bag. Here’s why:
not only will it work as a your eye makeup color
but it can become a gorgeous highlighter for your
cheeks.
“Everything is being mixed in a mad scientist kind
of way,” Lottie says of how she combined the gold
and silver hues. Make the eye shadow cream more
sheer by blending into the side of your hand. Your
Get Flawlessly Groomed Brows:
These adorable toothbrushes in makeup artist Alice
Lane’s kit aren’t for dental hygiene — they’re for eye-
brows! In lieu of a pricy brow gel, copy Lane’s back-
stage trick at Suno, and spritz a child’s toothbrush
with hairspray to use as your arch tamer. Not only
does the finished result look more natural than a
hard tinted gel, but the little brushes give your brows
a tiny massage. Stimulating your arches promotes
hair growth, getting you one step closer to looking
like Cara Delevingne.
tions, not large segments of hair. To make the look extra piece-y, apply a mousse to your finger-
tips, then gently tug at little groups of hair to create texture.
finger has natural warmth to melt the formula. Then, use clean fingertips to press it into the
tops of your cheekbones, and voila, you have glowing skin!

Celebrity
Street Style
Fashion
Though they always look super prim, proper and elegant on TV and in
magazines, I think one of the things we really like to see on celebs is how
they look when they’re off duty because these are the looks that we can
easily copy.
More often than not, your fave celebs are wearing something from some
of the stores you shop in. If not, they’re most probably wearing their own
line which, most of the time, is very accessible and affordable for every-
one. Here are 8 celebs who have perfected the street style fashion for
their everyday off duty looks.
Taylor Swift – I just love how Taylor Swift embraces her youth and dress-
es up for her age off duty unlike other young celebs. Her style is preppy
and chic and she never looks too ‘high maintenance’ when she’s off duty.
Kendall Jenner – Kendall’s street style looks are always super cute. She
has a way of sporting sexy pieces without looking like she’s trying too
hard. Like Taylor Swift, Kendall’s street style fashion is also very appro-
priate for her age.
Lauren Conrad – her style may lean more on the dainty, girly and rath-
er fancy side but when Lauren Conrad does a street style look, you can
count on her to do it real good. Her style, in general, is just something
that’s super chic yet also very easy to recreate and I’m pretty sure a lot of
women love that.
Celebrities are almost always the
first to sport the newest looks and
trends in fashion and this is a good
thing, I think, since a lot of us look
up to celebs for style inspiration.
49
Jessica Alba – despite being a busy
mom, celeb and businesswoman,
Jessica Alba stays on top of her
street style game by keeping up with
the trends. Her style is very hip and
chic but it’s not too juvenile for her
either. If you ask me, Jessica Alba
is one of Hollywood’s most stylish
mommas.
Miranda Kerr – of course she’s
going to look fabulous all the time,
she’s a model for Pete’s sake! There’s
just something about Miranda’s off
duty street style looks, though, that
makes her so posh all the time, even
when she’s just wearing distressed
jeans and a plain shirt.
Emma Watson – Emma embodies
elegance, even with her street style
looks. She may be young but she’s
sure ahead of so many other celebs
her age when it comes to fashion
and style. Truly a style icon to look
up to, this Harry Potter star is never
to be seen looking sloppy or un-
kempt.
Selena Gomez – despite all the bad
rap she’s been getting lately because
of the on and off affair with the
Biebs, Selena Gomez remains to
be one of Hollywood’s most stylish
young stars. Her style is very easy
and laidback and sometimes a little
sexy, too.
Olivia Palermo – Olivia Palermo is
one of those celebs who always has
fashion and style figured out. She’s
never been seen with an outfit that
was off or anything, proving that
she’s mastered the street style look,
and every other look for that matter,
to perfection.
Ridhima SudI Wanted to Become An Actress
You might have previously seen her in one of the many commercials she’s featured in. But
she’s now set to share screen space with the heavyweight cast of Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne
Do (DDD). But Ridhima Sud didn’t quite waltz into the movie making business just like that.
I also acted in the Dubai segment of The
Owner, which made it to the Guinness Book
Of World Records for being a film that was
directed by 25 filmmakers.”Ridhima hit the
jackpot when she was called to audition for
a role in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do.
“Nandini Shrikent, the casting director, got in
touch with me for Zoya Akhtar’s film. I was
super excited.
I knew she had worked with banners like
Excel Entertainment and Dharma films,” she
says adding, “Zoya personally took my au-
dition. Soon, I was a part of Dil Dhadakne
Do.” DDD has a stellar ensemble cast which
includes .“I’d been dabbling with theatre since
I was 13. But after college, I landed a plum 9
to 5 job at Wall Street.” But she was no wolf of
the stock market. Six months into the pencil
pushing job, she snapped. “I realised it was
not my thing. I didn’t belong there. I want-
ed to go out and discover my creative side. I
wanted to become an actress.”
After moving back to India, she started mod-
elling for beauty brands like Ponds and Kaya
Skin. She shot campaigns for Vodafone, Coca
Cola, Titan and eBay. But she wanted to hone
her skills further.

Her mother has a PHD and is an alumna of

Her father is a revered name in Delhi’s real

in an atmosphere heavy on academics.
She studied in the well-known DPS RK Pur-

packed off to NYU (New York University)
to complete her graduation. There Ridhima
acquired a major in Economics and Politics.
It was also there that she first discovered her
love for being on stage.

1. Tell us about
your early child-
hood?
I always see my
childhood as a bless-
ing. My relationship
with family has
always been particu-
larly strong, especial-
ly with my mother
who I also consider
a friend.I was very
open about every-
thing in my life with
my mother and over
time, this bond has
strengthened fur-
thermore. I am used
to discussing and
sharing every aspect
of my life with her to
seek advice. I hope
this does not change
anytime soon!
I also completed numerous other
commercials coupled with my work
in theatre which eventually led to
my audition for a lead role in a Ca-
nadian feature film. In Pakistan,
I had been performing and doing
theater in Alhamra since my teens.
My close friend Mashal Peerzada
was the one who introduced me to
the world of practical acting, which
is not something which I had ac-
tively pursued on my own, but just
kind of happened!
2. Where have you spent
your early years (city/
vicinity)? Please share
with us fond memories
of your childhood.
I have been a Lahori girl
from the very beginning!
As a child I grew up in
Cantonment in Lahore with
my brother and sister. I
was pretty much a tomboy
right from the start and
used to spend time with
the neighbours and the
neighbourhood kids in a
diverse range of activities.
I remember that we used
to regularly camp in our
family home’s lawn. We also
paid frequent visits to the
market for firecrackers ! It
was fun and exciting pas-
sage of time and one that I
truly relish.
3. Was acting something you had al-
ways wanted to do? What was it you
always wanted to be, even as a child?
Since I was 4 I knew that I wanted to be
an actor. It was something that my family
was initially against, but after completing
University it was a passion that I decid-
ed to pursue full time. I’ve always been
an actor first, and then a host and then a
model. Acting has always and will always
be my original passion.
4. Tell us about your initiation in the
media business?
I started professional acting under the
name ‘Jay Kazim’ in Toronto, where I was
also approached by a Canadian modeling
agency for representation as a commer-
cial model. I also acted in two music vid-
eos and was then approached by my then
current Canadian agents. With them, I
starred in an advertisement for a well-
known beverage company which ran for
two seasons due to its popularity.
57
5. What are you working on cur-
rently?
As a workaholic I usually find myself
immersed in several different projects
at the same time! At present, I am the
host of Morning with Juggan on PTV
Home, a platform which I have been
associated with for a while now and
which we have revamped with fresh
content and a new outlook. I am also
the local spokesperson for Garnier, an
amazing hair-care and skincare brand
with whom I’ve been associated with
for the past 4 years.
This is a brand that produces safe
products made from natural ingredi-
ents, which I use myself and wholly
support. I am currently a part of the
brand’s campaign for their new Color
Naturals product line which is very
exciting. I am also in talks regarding a
few movie roles, something which I’m
looking towards getting back into a
big way. Let’s see how it goes!
History is full of exam-
ples of one-hit won-
ders who came into
the limelight, became
the talk of the town
and then fizzled away.
It takes dedication and
hard work to make a
name for yourself in the
industry.
6. What is it about showbiz that appeals to you
most?
To be honest it’s not Showbiz that appeals to me but
the art form of acting which has drawn me into this
career. For me, acting and being in the limelight was
a way for me to bring about change, to educate and to
clear misperceptions about society, culture and our
country. I’ve never been an overly glamorous person
and therefore have never been truly fascinated by the
dazzle and glamour of Showbiz. I’ve always been the
girl next door person, who pursued her career for the
passion of the craft rather than the glitz of the indus-
try.
7. Don’t you feel it’s more about exposure today
as opposed to acting talent meaning whoever is
ready to expose will bag the lead role?
It’s about both. If you’re not talented and you have
not worked upon honing your craft, exposure won’t
do you any good. You can have good marketing skills,
public relations and know the right people, but you
must have talent. Exposure does help, but if you don’t
have talent and you don’t work on your craft you will
not be good in the long term.
8. Would you read-
ily take on bold
roles if you feel it
fits your character?
For me a bold role is
one which challenges
me as an actor and
as a person, which
is something which
I am always willing
to do. As an actor,
too often you are
typecast into playing
the sultry romantic
lead or playing the
doting wife / mother
etc. Any role which
breaks away from the
norms and integrates
a unique dimension of
the human condition
is something which I
would always want to
actively pursue.
10. How come you
haven’t tried your
hand at ramp mod-
elling?
Ramp modeling has
never really been my
cup of tea. One of the
major reasons I stayed
away from this voca-
tion was that I was a
bit overweight early
on in my career and
more importantly; I
just didn’t have the
height for it. I think
that women who
model are graceful, el-
egant and tall! Brands
do invite me to be
their showstopper and
walk the ramp during
their showcase, but
my modeling career is
pretty much limited.
9. Previously there were no intimate
scenes in television plays. Even holding
of hands was forbidden. However, today
there seem to be no limitations. Do you
feel what is being shown on TV today is
in accordance with our values and cul-
ture?
As a nation and culture, we have to realize
that romance, intimacy and human emotions
exist and are a part of the very fabric which
define us as humans. It goes without saying
that too much intimacy and exposure does
portray the wrong message and can be dis-
tracting, but at the end of the day people do
fall in love and they do go on dates. It’s only
if you show this aspect of human nature can
you appropriately address its ramifications
and consequences. If dramas show characters
who engage in affairs on the screen, it is only
because people do engage in affairs in real
life. Whatever is show in dramas is usually a
reflection of real life and we should be careful
not to confuse human nature with acting.
11. Who is the real Juggan Kazim?
Good question! The real Juggan Kazim is
someone who likes to keep to herself. I am
a workaholic but I’m also more a home-
body than many people realize. The glitz
and glamour of my career is a separate part
of my identity. Something else that not
many people know about me is that I love
cooking, especially for my family. Away
from the world of media, I’m very much a
girl next door who likes to spend time with
her family.
12. Where do you see yourself ten
years from now?
In 10 years, in addition to still being the
host of my Morning Show I would have
liked to have opened my own restaurant. I
also have plans to get back into working in
movies full time and hope to have worked
in several major projects in 10 years’ time. I
see myself as a successful entrepreneur and
look forward to branching out into differ-
ent areas.
13. If not an actor then what would it
have been for you?
I probably would have become a chef!
People seriously underestimate my love of
cooking!
14. You love spending your time
with…
My family! My husband and kids, both his
and mine.
15. Words of wisdom for our readers.
The most important thing in the world is
to love and respect yourself. When you do
that you achieve an inner peace and sereni-
ty and everything in your life becomes eas-
ier. If you can’t be happy with yourself you
can’t do anything to make others happy.
You must work hard to improve yourself
and improve others.
Diet Tips for MenEither men or women, losing weight is one of the best things you can do for
staying fit and healthy. Being overweight can be harmful as it can damage the
heart, also contribute to high blood pressure and can also damage the joints.
For men, losing weight is extremely important especially for the overweight or
obese. Dieting can be intimidating for many people so successful, permanent
weight loss require some act of mental sharpness and also a workable plan.
When you are trying to lose weight, choose a nutritional diet plan.
1) Eat Less and
Work More:
Excess weight is extra
calories stored on the
body so to get rid of
excess weight, keep a
check on your diet
so that you eat less
calories than are con-
sumed and get some
more exercise. While
this may seem some-
thing which is too
obvious, too many
dieters do not under-
stand this basic prin-
ciple.The advantage of
eating less and work-
ingout more is that
exercise will increase
your fitness while si-
multaneously burning
calories, in turn will
increase the metabo-
lism,cause the body
to use more calories
even while resting.
63
2) Try to Find
Diet Friendly
Substitutes:
Try best to find calo-
rie-saving food sub-
stitutions and learn
how to make them.
For instance, you can
replace whole milk
with low fat milk or
fat-free milk. In reci-
pes, you can substitute
plain yogurt for sour
cream. For a snack,
choose fresh fruits or
raw vegetables over
crackers and chips.
3) Beware
of Fat Free
Foods:
Make sure that you
carefully read the label
on any item claiming
to be low fat or fat
free. High calorie sub-
stitutes, such as high
fructose corn syrup,
are used to enhance
flavor and texture
in low fat or fat free
foods. In addition,
to increase their life,
many of these items
rely on chemical sub-
stitutions that.
the temptation for
seconds helping is too
much.
7) Controlling
the Desire:
To make dieting as
easy as possible, it
is essential that you
stock the pantry with
diet friendly foods
and so as to avoid
relapse in times of
weakness, get rid of
all high calorie foods
or any item that may
lead to uncontrolled
consumption. Have
appropriate snacks on
hand at your work
place or in the car.
Prepare meals at
home and take lunch
each day rather than
eating out.
8) Make Eat-
ing Purpose-
ful:
Try not to be afraid to
get in touch with hun-
ger and then discover
what true hunger
really feels like so that
you can observe what
happens to the body
as hunger approaches
and how long it would
actually take the phys-
ical feeling of hunger
to stop even when no
food is available.
9) Make sure
you look after
Yourself Well:
Dieting can be a hard
and a tedious task so
make sure that you
pamper yourself really
well during this time
by getting enough
sleep and enjoying
all high calorie foods
or any item that may
lead to uncontrolled
consumption. Have
appropriate snacks on
hand at your work
place or in the car.
Prepare meals at
home and take lunch
each day rather than
eating out.
10) Make Sure
you Drink
Water before
Meals:
Drinking a glass of
water 15 minutes
before you eat makes
you feel full soon-
er and it also makes
much harder to eat as
much.
4) Become
Familiar with
Portion Sizes:
Make sure that you
are familiar with the
portion size and the
size which is appropr-
iate for diet so that
you don’t over eat.
5) Use Small-
er Plates and
Cups:
Make your portion
control easier by using
smaller plates and
cups and then try to
have food arranged so
that the plate appears
full eases feelings of
deprivation.
6) Try to
Avoid Second
Helping:
Try to limit meals to
one helping of each
food and try to eat
slowly. Drink plenty
of water and extend
mealtime as long as
necessary to ensure
that satiety is reached
without indulging in a
second helping. Also
try to include raw veg-
etables and seasonal
fruits with each meal
to provide a healthy,
low calorie option if

Men Spring Style
Guide You Should Know
Beginning of springs after cool windy winters is an amazing time of the year.
Though, the shift from wintertime to springtime means start leaving the blankets
and getting up early else you may experience sweating from extreme warmth of
the blankets.
This also means that you have to remove your sweaters and extra clothing, and
come back to normal, putting the hoodies, jackets, mufflers away from you. This
change of wardrobe is always necessary for you to feel refreshed and to enjoy
every season of the year, whether it is extreme summers or thrilling winters, or else
the beautiful season of the flowers to bloom that is spring.
However, girls have a variety to pick from the market, and wear in every other sea-
son; however the guys are always in great trouble when it comes to dressing up
and staying stylish at the same time. On the contrary, some of the men maintain
their wardrobes for the whole year if they are too much in to the vogue thing. So,
here is a hint of different flavor for men clothing, and they are ready to go.
69
UPPERS - WHAT TO WEAR?
This is a very basic possession
all guys have. Nevertheless, you
must have perceived men who
wear casual shirts, yet they look
stylish and hot.Whereas, if the
street boys wear the same shirt
they won’t look as good as the
cool handsome guys would ap-
pear, wearing a casual tee. So,
what matters is how you choose
colors, and what the combina-
tion of pants with it is, what qual-
ities you are wearing, and are
they going with the kind of per-
sonality you have.
All these kind of questions that
may arise when you visit the mar-
ket, however you may feel that
you already have such kind of
clothing in your lockers but you
didn’t know the art of making
great combinations. Follow the
few tips for it:
You are tall or you have a comparatively
small height, stripes are a must for you. If
you want to enhance the look of your width,
then wear horizontal stripes, whereas for en-
hancement in the height you should wear
vertical striped shirts.
Stripes are always in vogue, so always car-
ry them along. Shirts may vary from thinly
striped ones to broadly striped.
There is a wide variety for stripe pattern of
shirts, you may opt for polo stripes, or full
sleeved lined dress shirts, likewise lines do
exist in every other type of shirt.
Similarly, there are plain crew neck or v neck
shirts in striking colors such as maroon, red,
blue etc. or simply a small motive or symbol
drawn over it.
However, for the picnic and beach parties
you have a choice of being funky and can
get in to the floral tees.
LOWERS - YOU NEED:
Now, the most important part of men’s cloth-
ing is what type of jeans are in fashion. In the
past few years, baggy pants were in fashion,
with pants drooping at the hips, however with
the changing trends, fitted jeans or pants are
readily available in the market, making it more
in to the style. Fitted sweatpants with stripes
upon them are considered to be classy these
days, and will combine with any plain tee shirt
and a jacket if you want.
Other stuff for these springs can be loose
shorts either of the jeans material, or simple
cotton stuff. Usually, the pants or jeans are
few in quantity, and the number of shirts is
more as you can make great blends with
black, navy blue, grey and white jeans/pants,
matching it with wide variation of colorful tees
accessible.
Men can wear whatever they feel like, but
they need to keep on checking the stuff that
is out of fashion, to stay in the market de-
mand, or in order to maintain the circle of
girl friends around them. So, get ready for the
upcoming springs and inspire the girls in the
most effective way.
GolfIdeas Everyone Should Know
Amazing
Golf is a popular game all over the world that was once considered to be played
by the old aged people but with the passage of time this has become nothing but
merely a myth because golf is now played by men of every age, young, old or
middle aged and is played quite enthusiastically as well as passionately by all
men. Golf is the only ball game that has restricted playing area and
requires nine or eighteen holes for scoring purpose. But in order to be
successful one needs to know the basic key things about a game in
order to maintain his grip on that game. For becoming a successful
golf player there are a few tips and tricks every man should know.
Here are some amazing ideas for you that will help you with this
marvelous game.
1. Perfect Club:
First thing first, a good
player should know which
club to use when and for
what type of short. So, you
don’t have a clear idea what
type of club you should use
then here is a simple and
amazing idea for you. Use
a club based on the length
of the shot and how far the
hole is. The farther the hole
is the longer club to be used
and for the nearer hole, use
short length club and so on
for the other shots.
2. Firm Grip:
Grip over the club is really im-
portant while playing golf. A
good, firm grip is the symbol of
a good golf player. So you should
always keep your focus on your
grip, a good player always a sol-
id grip. For a better grip do wear
your golf gloves.
3. Correct Stance:
If you want to make a perfect shot
there is one thing that you should
keep in mind and that is correct
stance and posture. Place your
feet in the right place so that your
body can maintain its balance
while you swing your club
for making the perfect shot.
4. Go with the Wind
Flow: Wind can change
the course of your game
as it can either make your
game or can simply de-
stroy your game completely
but it all depends on your
mind and skills, so here is
an amazing idea through
which you can use the wind
in your favor to be a suc-
cessful golf player. It is up to
you that how you can make
73
the adjustments in your po-
sition while playing to make
that wind work the shot for
you.
5. Relax:
The golden rule to be suc-
cessful in the game of golf is
to relax. If you would panic
or rush things up, you will
eventually become the worst
enemy of yourself. No matter
how good player you are, one
thing you should always keep
in mind is that there is al-
ways room for improvement.
6. Strategy:
Strategy is yet another very
important aspect of golf and
strategy plays a profound
role in making you golf game
successful. You should have
a clear map in your mind
that how you are going to
play your first shot and using
which club and what tech-
nique. Every shot should be
played with a different tech-
nique and style considering
the circumstances.
7. Don’t Lose Confi-
dence:
If you miss on to a shot or
miss a putt that’s not a big
deal because that is part of
the game and it is perfectly
ok. Don’t let your confidence
go down, keep your confi-
dence in control and don’t let
it get shattered just because
you have made a few wrong
shots. Tell yourself that you
can accomplish this and that
you are great with this game.

Shows Her Moves In “Jalaibe”
Much-anticipated crime caper Jalaibee’s cast and producers of
the film formally met the media. With a trailer that dubbed the
film as “the biggest movie event of the year”, the
film is packed with popular TV personalities like Sajid Hasan,
Ali Safina, Danish Taimoor, Zhalay Sarhadi, Adnan Jaffer, Wiqar
Ali Khan as well as British-Indian model/film actor Sabeeka
Imam and musician Uzair Jaswal.
The highlight of the evening was clearly the catchy item number
(or, as Jaswal would say, the ‘performance song’!), in which the
film’s female lead Zhalay Sarhadi proved that those who enjoyed
Na Maloom Afraad’s ’Billi’, will love Zhalay’s performance even
more. Jalaibee hit the screens on March 20, 2015.

Zhalay Sarhadi shows her moves in song ‘Jawani’.
The drama actress Zhalay Sarhadi is very much
excited for her first film and has sacrificed her
personal life just to make this project a big hit.
She has already earned good name in the Paki-
stani Drama industry, now it’s time to show her
acting skills on the bigger silver screen.
The actress will be seen first time in a Lollywood
movie, Jalaibee which is just nine days far to be
released. Jalaibee is going to be aired on cinema
screens by the first-time director Yasir Jaswal’s .

Jacqueline Fernandez (Ayesha) also appears as a film-maker and
gets mingled with Arjun Rampal who carries an image of a play-
boy. While, the initial part of the movie Roy is mostly about Arjun
Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez‘s romance, the film becomes
interesting as a love triangle commences, with several mysteries
associated with Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor getting
unfolded.
Performance:
Director Vikramjit Singh attempted to create something unortho-
dox with the movie Roy with a superb star-cast, of course. Talking
about the performance, Arjun Rampal dons the role of a proud,
arrogant and successful film-maker pretty well with an attitude.
Ranbir Kapoor as a charming and smart thief keeps the mystery
in his character intact all through the film, though his presence in
the film is comparatively short.
The much awaited Bollywood movie Roy starring Arjun Rampal, Ranbir Kapoor and Jacque-
line Fernandez finally hits the theatres and here we offer you a first-hand review of the movie
Roy. Directed by debutant director Vikramjit Singh, Roy happens to be a romantic thriller
with a mix of action, suspense and romance which certainly are exciting components of Bol-
lywood thrillers.
PLOT:
To talk about the plot of the movie Roy, Arjun Rampal (Kabir Grewal) plays the role of a suc-
cessful film-maker while, Ranbir Kapoor (Roy) is seen as a smart mysterious thief and gor-
geous Jacqueline Fernandez interestingly has double roles in the film. While, Ranbir Kapoor
earns money by robbery and he remains untraceable by the police, Arjun Rampal makes a lot
of money by making films on the life of Roy, all of which become super-hits at the Box Office.
Jacqueline
Fernandez,
apart from adding
glamour quotient to
the film Roy,
also has enough scope
to prove her prowess as
an actress and the diva
does considerable jus-
tice to her role. Other
than Arjun, Ranbir and
Jacqueline, Anupam
Kher (as Kabir’s father)
and Shibani Dandekar
(Zoya) also justified
their roles. As a direc-
tor, Vikramjit Singh
tried to add all the
necessary ingredients
in the movie Roy that
are required to have an
entertaining Bollywood
film. Apart from the
strong star-cast and a
gripping story-line, Roy
offers you with some
eye-catching locations
and soothing music.

white paints and matching accessories for your
kitchen so that you have chic and stylish kitchen.
Woodland Creatures:
Blinky owls, Machiavellian foxes, timid deer and,
more recently, mushrooms for décor items in art-
work and textiles is verging on in the latest interior
décor trends. You can actually have fun with these
elements and experiment too. They will add a lot of
variety and stylish touch to your household.
85
Books:
Books are actually seen as dec-
orative agents in various trendy
interior designs samples. You can
actually install small or big books
shelves in your lounges and rooms.
They give your place a literary
and comfortable look and create a
great impression of yours too.
Merger of Indoor and Out-
door:
This means that that this one of
the latest interior trends for 2014
actually want you to give your
house an exotic look. This not
only means that you can arrange
things with combinations but also
make sure that your interior has
elements from the exterior like
plants, pots etc.
Ethnic Elements:
Ethnic fabrics along with upholstery and
prints were a popular trend th previous
year. Adding up a fresh pizazz to your home
brought up from far off exotic lands can
actually break up boring bland interiors and
if authentic, can be fantastic conversational
pieces. So try to be as ethnic as you can if
you want a stylish interior.
Beige and Rocking:
Beige actually was the color of the year 2014.
It not only looks elegant and classy but also
gives your eyes a soothing effect along with
comforting yourself. You can also do a lot
of experiment with this color as it goes with
every kind of color palette and matches very
well. So try to go for beige paints and acces-
sories for a great interior.
Brass is Class:
Brass comes with the ability to look lu-
dicrously luscious or tantalizingly tacky.
When it is done properly it brass looks classy,
it’s timeless, it’s also a trend which has been
gathering steam over the past year. In 2014 it
was seen widely in the popularity circle and
that too in the particularly in the kitchen,
bold brass bathtubs, lamps etc.
Floral Influence:
Floral designs and chint textiles are a grow-
ing trend, not only in the interior design
world, but also in other markets such as
fashion. When there is a lap over of a partic-
ular trend in more than one vertical market,
in this case floral, the trend has a tendency
to have staying power; the perfect storm one
might say.
Lighter Color Woods:
These will also be seen in various parts of the
house because woods and that too in lighter
color look appealing as well as close to na-
ture.
for Recharging Your
Bedroom
Space
Is your bedroom
décor stuck in a
rut? Are you suffering from
major
boredom
in the bedroom, style-
wise? Th
en it’s time to spice things
up a bit. Here are seven ways to re-
vitalize your bedroom
decor—
and
make your escape from
the rest of
the world an enjoyable one.
Ideas
1. Change Your Look with a Headboard:
Not only does an upholstered headboard add instant style to any bedroom, it
also gives you a chance to infuse your own personality into your room. Make
it masculine with straight lines and leather or go glamorous with a sultry
shape, luxe material and nail head trim. You can’t loose with any combin-
ation you choose.
2. Create a Focal Point:
Make a statement on the wall space above your headboard with
a striking focal point. Consider hanging a large-scale mirror
or artwork, creating a mini-gallery with a grid of framed
photos, or framing your bed with a panel of fabric for
welcome pattern and color. Or, try a combination of
any of the above.
3. Hang a Chandelier Over Your Bed:
Once reserved for grand entrances and for-
mal dining rooms, chandeliers have made
their way into the bedroom. And why
shouldn’t you add the same kind of
luxurious ambiance to your perso-
nal space? Draw the eye to the
main feature in your room by
hanging your lighting fixture
centered over your bed.
Just be sure to leave
enough clearance so
you won’t bump
your head when
you sit up in
bed.
89
4. Float Your Bed:
Consider floating your bed away
from the walls for a change. It
may feel a little unorthodox, but
you might find that it opens up
the room, creating a spacious
feeling and improving the traffic
flow. Depending on your space,
you can float your bed at an
angle or move it to the center of
the room to create functionality
and visual interest.
5. Play with Patterns:
The bedroom provides plenty of
opportunities to make a splash
with patterns – so do! Start with
the centerpiece of your room,
the bed. Look for a comforter
in a show-stopping print, then
layer in accenting prints with
your throw pillows, seating, rug
or window treatments. Using a
variety of patterns adds tons of
visual interest, and as long as
you mix the scale of the prints
and use a cohesive color palette
to pull it all together, you’ll love
the look.
6. Throw Down a Rug:
Give yourself a warm surface to
walk on when your feet hit the
floor in the morning with an
area rug. The right rug also en-
hances your decorating scheme
by adding coordinating color
and texture. If you choose a pat-
tern, be sure to pull at least one
of the colors from your bedding,
wall art or window treatments.
Alternatively, if you already
have a lot of pattern in your
room, go easy on the eyes with a
solid color.
7. Add a
Bench:
The foot of
the bed is
a natural
place for
extra seat-
ing. Add a
bench or
ottoman
to create a
comfort-
able spot
to sit and
tie your
shoes, toss
an extra
blanket or,
yes, to even
throw your
clothes.
Better yet,
make it
upholstered
for that
extra hit of
color.

  • 26. Osman 2015 Fall RTW Collection There was a spare and modern — yet glamorous — feel to Os- man Yousefzada’s fall collection, worked in a palette restricted to red, white and black, but fash- ioned in rich, contrasting textures. “I just wanted to do a tight col- lection that allows the silhouettes to really shine,” the designer said. His shapes ran from structured to cocooning to fluid. One coat dress with a stiff skirt was done in a glittery red, marble-patterned brocade, while a sporty black zip- pered jacket was paneled in plas- ticized, quilted velvet. The most appealing looks were those at the more languid end of the spec- trum — a bias cut, deep red silk skirt paired with a matching knit sweater, or a halter neck jumpsuit with a glittery black bodice and elegant draped pants. 25

  • 38. Lose Your Weight With Simple Yoga Poses •Yoga can be a fantastic way to achieve and maintain the body you want. •Scientific research has been showing links between weight loss and yoga. •More vigor- ous styles of yoga include Ashtanga and Bikram. Researchers in one U.S. study, for exam- ple, followed more than 15,000 healthy men and women aged between 53 and 57. Those who started out overweight but did at least one session of yoga a week lost about 5lb over ten years, while those who didn’t gained almost a stone. In another study, a group of heart patients with narrowed coro- nary arteries were put on a low-fat vegetarian diet and told to prac- tise yoga regularly. They recorded almost 24lb of weight loss over the first year, and five years later had maintained more than half of that original loss, as well as reversing the heart disease. The American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, which recently reviewed several studies of yoga and weight loss, also concluded that yoga is a successful slimming tool, not only burning calories and enabling people to improve their performance in other sports, but making them more mindful of their bodies, which in turn may lead them to eat better. All this week, in a brilliant new series, the Mail is focusing on yoga and its many ben- efits for old and young, fit and unfit. Most people imagine that yoga is some- thing gentle and mindful, not a form of exercise that will help shed excess pounds. But it’s also a fantastic way to get, and keep, the body you want. There’s not just the anecdotal evidence of many yoga devotees who say it helps them stay trim and toned. Scientific research is increasingly backing up the link between yoga and weight loss. 37
  • 39. All this week, in a brilliant new series, the Mail is focusing on yoga and its many benefits for old and young, fit and unfit. We are showing how you can in- corporate simple yoga routines into your daily life in the comfort of your home. The beauty of yoga is that it can be adapted to virtually anyone’s needs — so no matter what your age, shape or fitness level, you’ll be able to take part. So how can it help you to lose weight? For a start, there are several styles of yoga that are highly vigorous. If you want to join a class specifically with the aim of burning calories, look for Ashtanga yoga classes — a series of fast-paced postures — or Bikram yoga, a sequence of 26 postures performed in a room heated to around 40c (104f). As a bonus, many people I know who do yoga find themselves craving fruit, vegetables and grains, rather than ham- burgers and chips. All that stretching, bending and focusing on the body seems to kill the appetite, leav- ing a desire to eat healthily. As someone whose first waking thought is often ‘What’s for lunch?’ I can testify that if I do my yoga practice in the morning, lunch no longer seems quite so urgent. Yoga can give you the skills you need to maintain weight loss. Make it a regular fixture in your life, persist with the breathing exercises and postures, and you will be less depressed, less stressed and more aware of the reasons you may be overeating, which in turn will enable you to break unhealthy habits. You’ll also become more toned and far more flexible. Finally, practising yoga will do something even more import- ant — it will help improve your self-image and make you happier. This classic flowing sequence of pos- tures is at the heart of modern Yoga Pose and can be a complete practice in itself or a preparation for a longer routine. Traditionally performed in the morn- ing to greet the new day, it forms the backbone of most types of yoga and employs various forward and backward bending poses that flex the spinal column, giving a profound, energising stretch to the whole body. Because it is an energetic sequence that tones every muscle group in the body, it’s great for burning calories, building strength and stamina, im- proving circulation and detoxifying your internal organs through en- hanced oxygenation. It has a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating effect. In other words, this is a full body workout like no other, which explains its popularity. I would recommend doing this sequence at least five times a day if weight is an issue. But even if you only do two sequences a day, you’re doing your figure a massive fa- vour. There are small variations in the way yogis do this sequence, but the most important thing is the synchro- nisation of the motion of your breath with the movement of your body. Basically, all upward movements are coupled with inhalation, and down- ward movements with exhalation.
  • 40. MOUNTAIN POSE: Start in Mountain pose: stand up tall, feet together or a little apart, arms at your sides. Place your palms together in a prayer po- sition, roll your shoulders back and down and lift your chest. INHALE: Inhale through your nose and extend your arms above and behind your head.
  • 41. FORWARD BEND: Inhale, step forward one foot and then the other between the hands, looking ahead. Then ex- hale into a forward bend. HALF STANDING FORWARD BEND: Inhale and lengthen your spine forward into a Half Standing Forward Bend, with your fin- gertips on the floor and gaze focused ahead. PLANK POSE: Exhale and step, or lightly hop, your feet behind you to get into a Plank pose, arms straight underneath your shoulders and legs straight behind you. Your back should be flat and your core engaged. Hold for a second, then, in a snake-like movement, lower yourself towards the floor. Then lower your chest and chin to the floor, keeping your elbows close to the sides of your ribcage, and flatten your feet to the floor. SWAN DIVE: Swan dive into a standing for- ward bend, exhaling through your nose and placing your hands on your legs as close to your feet as you can. Bend your knees a little if your hamstrings are tight, to pro- tect your back. STANDING POSE: Lower arms into origi- nal standing pose.
  • 42. COBRA POSE: Inhale as you push down with your arms and raise your head, shoulders and upper body as far as you can without straining. This is the Cobra pose. Look upwards, roll shoulders back and down and keep elbows in. Firm up your kneecaps and thighs to prevent them lifting off the mat. DOWNWARD FACING DOG: Exhale into Downward Facing Dog; walk hands forward and slightly farther apart than should- er width, and spread fingers wide for stability. Then curl toes under and press your hips upwards so your body is in the shape of a triangle, with your bottom as the apex. Make sure your neck and shoulders are released and relaxed. If your hamstrings are tight, keep your knees slightly bent. Take five deep breaths.

  • 44. Beauty Tricks Every Woman Should Know There is nothing more gratifying than finding a simpler yet effective DIY trick. Let the cliche “Beauty comes at a price” die a natural death with our awe- some beauty hacks, and make your life simple. Looking beautiful has never been this easy. Ditch the gold digging salons, and convolut- ed makeup advice. We bring to you seven most easy home tips for a beautiful you. Here are a few tricks of the trade, every wom- an should know. If it’s your first time using a particular hair colour product, you need to conduct a 24 hour patch test in the same shade and pro- portion of mixture that will be used on your hair.Apply the patch test behind the ear or the inside fold of the elbow. 43
  • 45. Allow the mixture to re- main on the test area for 24 hours to deter- mine if you develop an allergic skin reac- tion to the product. If you have oily skin and are prone to acne, be careful about what sunscreen you apply to your face. Use an oil-free brand that is non-com- dogenic and dries soft to the touch, instead of feeling greasy and moist like other brands.Long lasting lipsticks can be tough to remove. When you’re in a bind and don’t have any make-up remover handy, head over to the kitchen! You can put some sweet al- mond oil on a cotton ball and say goodbye to that long lasting lipstick. Fill a foot basin with cold mint tea and ice cubes. Soak your tired feet in this bath for a few minutes. The mint will cool and relax your muscles, help- ing release the tension and relieve discomfort. Before beginning your shampoo and condition- er routine, massage a quarter size dollop of co- conut oil into your hair. Leave the oil in for ten minutes before returning to your shampoo and conditioner routine. The oil will leave your hair feeling noticeably softer. Make your brunette locks go from flat to fabu- lous with one of the most popular sweet treats around, chocolate. Mix a teaspoon of unsweet- ened cocoa with a few dollops of shampoo in the palm of your hand. Wash your hair with this mixture and rinse. The colour of your hair will look richer and you’ll smell good too! One of the best ways to get naturally pink lips is to regu- larly exfoliate your lips with a toothbrush. All you need to do is dampen a soft-bristled toothbrush and gently rub your lips using small circular motions. This sloughs off dead skin and stimulates blood flow to the lips, making them soft and pink.
  • 46. Brilliant Beauty Hacks YouApply Makeup That Will Change the Way There are a lot of reasons to trek backstage at New York Fashion Week: the models, the celebrities, the nails, and the beautiful beauty looks. But perhaps the most appeal- ing aspect is that we get access to the top-tier makeup, hair, and nail pros in the world. These experts fly in for one week only to make sure ev- ery model is done up to perfect. And us beauty reporters are by their side, recorders out, soaking in all of their knowledge. But we’re not greedy! So, here, we’ve round- ed up all of the the genius tricks and tips we’ve overhead backstage at the New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 tents. Keep reading to learn everything from how turn your favorite shimmery lipstick into a velvety matte one to a savvy new way to create an ombre manicure. Correct a Hair Oil Overload: You just wanted to add a touch of shine to your blowout, but oil turned your style into a flat, greasy mess. First rub a towel through your strands, then apply a dry shampoo or dry texturizing spray like Redken Windblown to lift the roots again. If it’s really gone too far, use baby powder to soak up the oil slick. And a tip for next time: “When you’re using any product with shine in it or serum, spray it on your hands first,” Guido rec- ommends. “I always recommend to use [product] slowly at first.” Get Flawless Ombré Nail Art in one step: You could layer multiple layers of polish to get the perfect ombré manicure, but in reality that would take forever to dry (and consequently smudge)! Instead, apply your three gradient shades of nail polish to a makeup sponge then dab it on each nails, creating the gradient pattern. Manicurist Cinnamon Bowser used a similar technique backstage at ICB with Zoya shades Taylor, Adel, and Flynn creating a subtle French manicure effect. Apply Cream Blush With Your Fingers: Remember the ’80s when blush took over your entire cheek from lip to brow? Thank goodness trends are fleeting! Backstage at Misha Nonoo, Bobbi Brown makeup artist Marc Reagan taught us the more modern way to apply cream rouge — with your fingers. First smile and place product on the shelf of the cheek. Then, dab the color all the way back to- wards the hairline. Finally use a separate clean finger to blend it downwards. “[This technique] keeps the blush high on the cheek which is lifting, and it covers the right area of the cheek where you naturally flush,” he said. Make Matte Last Longer: A matte top coat seems cute in theory, but it can reveal every uneven brush stoke and nail ridge for the DIY manicurist. The solution: paint on a regular top coat first. OPI nail lead Miss Pop used a similar layering technique backstage at Marissa Webb to seal in the linear negative space nail art. 45
  • 47. Mattify Your Favorite Lipstick: Problem: you love a certain lipstick shade, but wish it were matte. Backstage at Tibi, makeup artist Cassandra Gar- cia pressed Bobbi Brown Pink Martini lip shade on the pout, then dusted the mouth with Porcelain Pearl blush to create an original matte hue. As with any matte lip color, make sure to let the lips marinate in lip balm first to rectify any dryness. This trick will also transition your favorite bright Summer lip hue to a more velvety, Fall-appropriate finish. Thin Out Pigmented Polish: Your most saturated bold nail polish is so much more than a one-coat wonder! You can transform it into a sheer shade with a clear top coat — but avoid your superfast-drying standby. “Quick-dry formulas affect the pigment because it’s drying as you paint,”. Do it at home by pouring equal parts of lacquer and top coat into an empty nail polish bottle and mixing up your new formula. Then, test your blend on a piece of paper. If it’s still too pigmented, add more top coat. Fake Seamless Fringe: We’ve heard dozens of fringe horror sto- ries, but you can take the look for a test run with this easy strategy using clip-in bangs. Yes, you can make faux fringe look authentic, and Tresemme hairstylist Jeanie Syfu showed us how backstage at Marissa Webb. First, create a deep center part. Then make a horizontal part about half an inch back from the hairline. Tease the hair at the scalp to create a grip for the clips. Next, pin back the two sections of hair on each side so you have a nice frame. Clip in the bangs, and trim them to your face. “Try to get human hair because it always looks better,” said Syfu. “If you do use synthetic try to knock out that plastic shine with dry shampoo. “
  • 48. Create Perfectly Imperfect Texture: Everyone wants the cool-girl, undone look of a windswept ponytail, but achieving it at home usually results in a style that’s more messed up than mussed. Bob Recine for Moroccanoil revealed his tech- nique to perfect imperfection backstage at Monique Lhuillier. “After creating the ponytail, I loosely go over the front pieces with a brush, picking them up a little bit.” You should use a very light hand to do this as you are only trying to pull out small, wispy sect- Play With Your Tools: Precise, geometric nail art isn’t just for the accu- rate hands of a manicurist — all you need to do is upgrade your everyday striper brush with a quick modification. Jin Soon Choi suggests cutting the tip off the brush. Instead of the standard pointed tip (like a V-shape), hold your scissor perpendicular to the brush handle and snip the tip straight across to create a flat, squared-off edge. Turn Eye Shadow Into Highlighter: When you need to pack light, throw a creamy, shim- mery neutral eye shadow in your bag. Here’s why: not only will it work as a your eye makeup color but it can become a gorgeous highlighter for your cheeks. “Everything is being mixed in a mad scientist kind of way,” Lottie says of how she combined the gold and silver hues. Make the eye shadow cream more sheer by blending into the side of your hand. Your Get Flawlessly Groomed Brows: These adorable toothbrushes in makeup artist Alice Lane’s kit aren’t for dental hygiene — they’re for eye- brows! In lieu of a pricy brow gel, copy Lane’s back- stage trick at Suno, and spritz a child’s toothbrush with hairspray to use as your arch tamer. Not only does the finished result look more natural than a hard tinted gel, but the little brushes give your brows a tiny massage. Stimulating your arches promotes hair growth, getting you one step closer to looking like Cara Delevingne. tions, not large segments of hair. To make the look extra piece-y, apply a mousse to your finger- tips, then gently tug at little groups of hair to create texture. finger has natural warmth to melt the formula. Then, use clean fingertips to press it into the tops of your cheekbones, and voila, you have glowing skin!

  • 50. Top Celebrity Street Style Fashion Though they always look super prim, proper and elegant on TV and in magazines, I think one of the things we really like to see on celebs is how they look when they’re off duty because these are the looks that we can easily copy. More often than not, your fave celebs are wearing something from some of the stores you shop in. If not, they’re most probably wearing their own line which, most of the time, is very accessible and affordable for every- one. Here are 8 celebs who have perfected the street style fashion for their everyday off duty looks. Taylor Swift – I just love how Taylor Swift embraces her youth and dress- es up for her age off duty unlike other young celebs. Her style is preppy and chic and she never looks too ‘high maintenance’ when she’s off duty. Kendall Jenner – Kendall’s street style looks are always super cute. She has a way of sporting sexy pieces without looking like she’s trying too hard. Like Taylor Swift, Kendall’s street style fashion is also very appro- priate for her age. Lauren Conrad – her style may lean more on the dainty, girly and rath- er fancy side but when Lauren Conrad does a street style look, you can count on her to do it real good. Her style, in general, is just something that’s super chic yet also very easy to recreate and I’m pretty sure a lot of women love that. Celebrities are almost always the first to sport the newest looks and trends in fashion and this is a good thing, I think, since a lot of us look up to celebs for style inspiration. 49
  • 51. Jessica Alba – despite being a busy mom, celeb and businesswoman, Jessica Alba stays on top of her street style game by keeping up with the trends. Her style is very hip and chic but it’s not too juvenile for her either. If you ask me, Jessica Alba is one of Hollywood’s most stylish mommas. Miranda Kerr – of course she’s going to look fabulous all the time, she’s a model for Pete’s sake! There’s just something about Miranda’s off duty street style looks, though, that makes her so posh all the time, even when she’s just wearing distressed jeans and a plain shirt. Emma Watson – Emma embodies elegance, even with her street style looks. She may be young but she’s sure ahead of so many other celebs her age when it comes to fashion and style. Truly a style icon to look up to, this Harry Potter star is never to be seen looking sloppy or un- kempt. Selena Gomez – despite all the bad rap she’s been getting lately because of the on and off affair with the Biebs, Selena Gomez remains to be one of Hollywood’s most stylish young stars. Her style is very easy and laidback and sometimes a little sexy, too. Olivia Palermo – Olivia Palermo is one of those celebs who always has fashion and style figured out. She’s never been seen with an outfit that was off or anything, proving that she’s mastered the street style look, and every other look for that matter, to perfection.

  • 58. Juggan Kazim 1. Tell us about your early child- hood? I always see my childhood as a bless- ing. My relationship with family has always been particu- larly strong, especial- ly with my mother who I also consider a friend.I was very open about every- thing in my life with my mother and over time, this bond has strengthened fur- thermore. I am used to discussing and sharing every aspect of my life with her to seek advice. I hope this does not change anytime soon! I also completed numerous other commercials coupled with my work in theatre which eventually led to my audition for a lead role in a Ca- nadian feature film. In Pakistan, I had been performing and doing theater in Alhamra since my teens. My close friend Mashal Peerzada was the one who introduced me to the world of practical acting, which is not something which I had ac- tively pursued on my own, but just kind of happened! 2. Where have you spent your early years (city/ vicinity)? Please share with us fond memories of your childhood. I have been a Lahori girl from the very beginning! As a child I grew up in Cantonment in Lahore with my brother and sister. I was pretty much a tomboy right from the start and used to spend time with the neighbours and the neighbourhood kids in a diverse range of activities. I remember that we used to regularly camp in our family home’s lawn. We also paid frequent visits to the market for firecrackers ! It was fun and exciting pas- sage of time and one that I truly relish. 3. Was acting something you had al- ways wanted to do? What was it you always wanted to be, even as a child? Since I was 4 I knew that I wanted to be an actor. It was something that my family was initially against, but after completing University it was a passion that I decid- ed to pursue full time. I’ve always been an actor first, and then a host and then a model. Acting has always and will always be my original passion. 4. Tell us about your initiation in the media business? I started professional acting under the name ‘Jay Kazim’ in Toronto, where I was also approached by a Canadian modeling agency for representation as a commer- cial model. I also acted in two music vid- eos and was then approached by my then current Canadian agents. With them, I starred in an advertisement for a well- known beverage company which ran for two seasons due to its popularity. 57
  • 59. 5. What are you working on cur- rently? As a workaholic I usually find myself immersed in several different projects at the same time! At present, I am the host of Morning with Juggan on PTV Home, a platform which I have been associated with for a while now and which we have revamped with fresh content and a new outlook. I am also the local spokesperson for Garnier, an amazing hair-care and skincare brand with whom I’ve been associated with for the past 4 years. This is a brand that produces safe products made from natural ingredi- ents, which I use myself and wholly support. I am currently a part of the brand’s campaign for their new Color Naturals product line which is very exciting. I am also in talks regarding a few movie roles, something which I’m looking towards getting back into a big way. Let’s see how it goes! History is full of exam- ples of one-hit won- ders who came into the limelight, became the talk of the town and then fizzled away. It takes dedication and hard work to make a name for yourself in the industry. 6. What is it about showbiz that appeals to you most? To be honest it’s not Showbiz that appeals to me but the art form of acting which has drawn me into this career. For me, acting and being in the limelight was a way for me to bring about change, to educate and to clear misperceptions about society, culture and our country. I’ve never been an overly glamorous person and therefore have never been truly fascinated by the dazzle and glamour of Showbiz. I’ve always been the girl next door person, who pursued her career for the passion of the craft rather than the glitz of the indus- try. 7. Don’t you feel it’s more about exposure today as opposed to acting talent meaning whoever is ready to expose will bag the lead role? It’s about both. If you’re not talented and you have not worked upon honing your craft, exposure won’t do you any good. You can have good marketing skills, public relations and know the right people, but you must have talent. Exposure does help, but if you don’t have talent and you don’t work on your craft you will not be good in the long term.
  • 60. 8. Would you read- ily take on bold roles if you feel it fits your character? For me a bold role is one which challenges me as an actor and as a person, which is something which I am always willing to do. As an actor, too often you are typecast into playing the sultry romantic lead or playing the doting wife / mother etc. Any role which breaks away from the norms and integrates a unique dimension of the human condition is something which I would always want to actively pursue. 10. How come you haven’t tried your hand at ramp mod- elling? Ramp modeling has never really been my cup of tea. One of the major reasons I stayed away from this voca- tion was that I was a bit overweight early on in my career and more importantly; I just didn’t have the height for it. I think that women who model are graceful, el- egant and tall! Brands do invite me to be their showstopper and walk the ramp during their showcase, but my modeling career is pretty much limited. 9. Previously there were no intimate scenes in television plays. Even holding of hands was forbidden. However, today there seem to be no limitations. Do you feel what is being shown on TV today is in accordance with our values and cul- ture? As a nation and culture, we have to realize that romance, intimacy and human emotions exist and are a part of the very fabric which define us as humans. It goes without saying that too much intimacy and exposure does portray the wrong message and can be dis- tracting, but at the end of the day people do fall in love and they do go on dates. It’s only if you show this aspect of human nature can you appropriately address its ramifications and consequences. If dramas show characters who engage in affairs on the screen, it is only because people do engage in affairs in real life. Whatever is show in dramas is usually a reflection of real life and we should be careful not to confuse human nature with acting.
  • 61. 11. Who is the real Juggan Kazim? Good question! The real Juggan Kazim is someone who likes to keep to herself. I am a workaholic but I’m also more a home- body than many people realize. The glitz and glamour of my career is a separate part of my identity. Something else that not many people know about me is that I love cooking, especially for my family. Away from the world of media, I’m very much a girl next door who likes to spend time with her family. 12. Where do you see yourself ten years from now? In 10 years, in addition to still being the host of my Morning Show I would have liked to have opened my own restaurant. I also have plans to get back into working in movies full time and hope to have worked in several major projects in 10 years’ time. I see myself as a successful entrepreneur and look forward to branching out into differ- ent areas. 13. If not an actor then what would it have been for you? I probably would have become a chef! People seriously underestimate my love of cooking! 14. You love spending your time with… My family! My husband and kids, both his and mine. 15. Words of wisdom for our readers. The most important thing in the world is to love and respect yourself. When you do that you achieve an inner peace and sereni- ty and everything in your life becomes eas- ier. If you can’t be happy with yourself you can’t do anything to make others happy. You must work hard to improve yourself and improve others.

  • 72. LOWERS - YOU NEED: Now, the most important part of men’s cloth- ing is what type of jeans are in fashion. In the past few years, baggy pants were in fashion, with pants drooping at the hips, however with the changing trends, fitted jeans or pants are readily available in the market, making it more in to the style. Fitted sweatpants with stripes upon them are considered to be classy these days, and will combine with any plain tee shirt and a jacket if you want. Other stuff for these springs can be loose shorts either of the jeans material, or simple cotton stuff. Usually, the pants or jeans are few in quantity, and the number of shirts is more as you can make great blends with black, navy blue, grey and white jeans/pants, matching it with wide variation of colorful tees accessible. Men can wear whatever they feel like, but they need to keep on checking the stuff that is out of fashion, to stay in the market de- mand, or in order to maintain the circle of girl friends around them. Golf is the only ball game that has restricted playing area and requires nine or eighteen holes for scoring purpose. For becoming a successful golf player there are a few tips and tricks every man should know. Here are some amazing ideas for you that will help you with this marvelous game. 1. Perfect Club: First thing first, a good player should know which club to use when and for what type of short. So, you don’t have a clear idea what type of club you should use then here is a simple and amazing idea for you. Use a club based on the length of the shot and how far the hole is. The farther the hole is the longer club to be used and for the nearer hole, use short length club and so on for the other shots. 2. Firm Grip: Grip over the club is really im- portant while playing golf. A good, firm grip is the symbol of a good golf player. So you should always keep your focus on your grip, a good player always a sol- id grip. For a better grip do wear your golf gloves. 3. Correct Stance: If you want to make a perfect shot there is one thing that you should keep in mind and that is correct stance and posture. Place your feet in the right place so that your body can maintain its balance while you swing your club for making the perfect shot. 4. Go with the Wind Flow: Wind can change the course of your game as it can either make your game or can simply de- stroy your game completely but it all depends on your mind and skills, so here is an amazing idea through which you can use the wind in your favor to be a suc- cessful golf player. • 75. the adjustments in your po- sition while playing to make that wind work the shot for you. 5. Relax: The golden rule to be suc- cessful in the game of golf is to relax. If you would panic or rush things up, you will eventually become the worst enemy of yourself. No matter how good player you are, one thing you should always keep in mind is that there is al- ways room for improvement. 6. Strategy: Strategy is yet another very important aspect of golf and strategy plays a profound role in making you golf game successful. You should have a clear map in your mind that how you are going to play your first shot and using which club and what tech- nique. Every shot should be played with a different tech- nique and style considering the circumstances. 7. Don’t Lose Confi- dence: If you miss on to a shot or miss a putt that’s not a big deal because that is part of the game and it is perfectly ok. Don’t let your confidence go down, keep your confi- dence in control and don’t let it get shattered just because you have made a few wrong shots. Tell yourself that you can accomplish this and that you are great with this game.

  • 82. Jacqueline Fernandez (Ayesha) also appears as a film-maker and gets mingled with Arjun Rampal who carries an image of a play- boy. While, the initial part of the movie Roy is mostly about Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez‘s romance, the film becomes interesting as a love triangle commences, with several mysteries associated with Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor getting unfolded. Performance: Director Vikramjit Singh attempted to create something unortho- dox with the movie Roy with a superb star-cast, of course. Talking about the performance, Arjun Rampal dons the role of a proud, arrogant and successful film-maker pretty well with an attitude. Ranbir Kapoor as a charming and smart thief keeps the mystery in his character intact all through the film, though his presence in the film is comparatively short. The much awaited Bollywood movie Roy starring Arjun Rampal, Ranbir Kapoor and Jacque- line Fernandez finally hits the theatres and here we offer you a first-hand review of the movie Roy. Directed by debutant director Vikramjit Singh, Roy happens to be a romantic thriller with a mix of action, suspense and romance which certainly are exciting components of Bol- lywood thrillers. PLOT: To talk about the plot of the movie Roy, Arjun Rampal (Kabir Grewal) plays the role of a suc- cessful film-maker while, Ranbir Kapoor (Roy) is seen as a smart mysterious thief and gor- geous Jacqueline Fernandez interestingly has double roles in the film. While, Ranbir Kapoor earns money by robbery and he remains untraceable by the police, Arjun Rampal makes a lot of money by making films on the life of Roy, all of which become super-hits at the Box Office. Jacqueline Fernandez, apart from adding glamour quotient to the film Roy, also has enough scope to prove her prowess as an actress and the diva does considerable jus- tice to her role. Other than Arjun, Ranbir and Jacqueline, Anupam Kher (as Kabir’s father) and Shibani Dandekar (Zoya) also justified their roles. As a direc- tor, Vikramjit Singh tried to add all the necessary ingredients in the movie Roy that are required to have an entertaining Bollywood film. Apart from the strong star-cast and a gripping story-line, Roy offers you with some eye-catching locations and soothing music. 81

  • 90. for Recharging Your Bedroom Space Is your bedroom décor stuck in a rut? Are you suffering from major boredom in the bedroom, style- wise? Th en it’s time to spice things up a bit. Here are seven ways to re- vitalize your bedroom decor— and make your escape from the rest of the world an enjoyable one. Ideas 1. Change Your Look with a Headboard: Not only does an upholstered headboard add instant style to any bedroom, it also gives you a chance to infuse your own personality into your room. Make it masculine with straight lines and leather or go glamorous with a sultry shape, luxe material and nail head trim. You can’t loose with any combin- ation you choose. 2. Create a Focal Point: Make a statement on the wall space above your headboard with a striking focal point. Consider hanging a large-scale mirror or artwork, creating a mini-gallery with a grid of framed photos, or framing your bed with a panel of fabric for welcome pattern and color. Or, try a combination of any of the above. 3. Hang a Chandelier Over Your Bed: Once reserved for grand entrances and for- mal dining rooms, chandeliers have made their way into the bedroom. And why shouldn’t you add the same kind of luxurious ambiance to your perso- nal space? Draw the eye to the main feature in your room by hanging your lighting fixture centered over your bed. Just be sure to leave enough clearance so you won’t bump your head when you sit up in bed. 89
  • 91. 4. Float Your Bed: Consider floating your bed away from the walls for a change. It may feel a little unorthodox, but you might find that it opens up the room, creating a spacious feeling and improving the traffic flow. Depending on your space, you can float your bed at an angle or move it to the center of the room to create functionality and visual interest. 5. Play with Patterns: The bedroom provides plenty of opportunities to make a splash with patterns – so do! Start with the centerpiece of your room, the bed. Look for a comforter in a show-stopping print, then layer in accenting prints with your throw pillows, seating, rug or window treatments. Using a variety of patterns adds tons of visual interest, and as long as you mix the scale of the prints and use a cohesive color palette to pull it all together, you’ll love the look. 6. Throw Down a Rug: Give yourself a warm surface to walk on when your feet hit the floor in the morning with an area rug. The right rug also en- hances your decorating scheme by adding coordinating color and texture. If you choose a pat- tern, be sure to pull at least one of the colors from your bedding, wall art or window treatments. Alternatively, if you already have a lot of pattern in your room, go easy on the eyes with a solid color.
  • 92.
  • 93. 7. Add a Bench: The foot of the bed is a natural place for extra seat- ing. Add a bench or ottoman to create a comfort- able spot to sit and tie your shoes, toss an extra blanket or, yes, to even throw your clothes. Better yet, make it upholstered for that extra hit of color.
