Biomass is plant or animal material used for heat production, energy production, or in various industrial processes as raw material for a range of products, it’s a renewable and sustainable source of energy used to create electricity or other forms of power. Biomass offers other significant environmental and consumer benefits, including improving forest health, protecting air quality, and offering the most dependable renewable energy source. Biomass have so much advantages in the form of bio-energy fuel, reducing wasting & garbage & also reducing our reliance on the fossil fuels. To know more check this detailed presentation...

RENEWABLE & CLEAN ENERGY
Biomass is plant or animal material used for
energy production, heat production, or in
various industrial processes as raw material for
a range of products. It can be purposely grown
energy crops, wood or forest residues, waste
from food crops.

8. BioFuels
- Future
of Earth
A biofuel is any liquid fuel derived from
biological material such as trees,
agricultural wastes, crops, or grass.
Biofuel can be produced from any
carbon source that can be replenished
rapidly, such as plants.
10. The first generation biofuels refer to the fuels that have been
derived from sources like starch, sugar, animal fats and
vegetable oil. The oil is obtained using the conventional
techniques of production.
FIRST GENERATION BIO-FUELS
Second-generation biofuels, also known as advanced
biofuels, are fuels that can be manufactured from various
types of non-food biomass. Biomass in this context means
plant materials and animal waste used especially as a source
of fuel.
SECOND GENERATION BIO-FUELS
12. Solid biomass, such as wood and garbage, can be burned
directly to produce heat. Biomass can also be converted into
a gas called bio-gasor into liquid bio-fuels such as ethanol
and bio-diesel. These fuels can then be burned for energy.
There are 4 Types of Biomass Conversion:
Thermal Biomass conversion
Chemical Biomass Conversion
Biochemical Biomass conversion
Electrochemical Biomass Conversion

Conversion
13. Thermal conversion processes use heat as the
dominant mechanism to upgrade biomass into a
better and more practical fuel. The basic
alternatives are torrefaction, pyrolysis,
and gasification

14. A range of chemical processes may be used to
convert biomass into other forms, such as to
produce a fuel that is more practical to store,
transport and use, or to exploit some property
of the process itself.
