6. How to diagnose
● People may be mistaken about the proper
diagnosis of lice especially when dandruff is
present.
● The key difference is that lice produce sticky
material that let them hard to be removed.
● Also lice usually stay close to the scalp
whereas dandruff fall off easily.
7. Tx
● Drug should be applied for the right duration, then
hair should be combed.
● Itching may persist for several days.
● Further use of drug can dry the hair and lead to
severe itching ( dermatitis due to irritation of the
skin )
● Vacuum furniture and wash everything with warm
water to avoid a second episode and to protect
other family members.
