Power Monitoring – Phase 1
The system allows for a connection of
up to 256 Devices over 1 x IP
The PDUs/In-liners can be Single or 3-
Phase
Option to connect a Temperature &
Humidity Sensors over RJ45 to the
hardware device
The Poller facilitates data to NGEN via
IP
Power Monitoring – Phase 2
Our In-Line range can support power
monitoring for Systems that are not
installed into a 19” IT Rack
The In-Line range can support power
requirements for 16a, 32a & 63a) in
single and 3-Phase
The system can connect up to 256
devices over 1 x IP
Each in-line monitor can also support 1
x T&H sensor which is connected via
an RJ45 patch lead
Wire-Free Sensors
Temperature & Humidity Wire-Free Sensors
MPL has introduced a Wire-Free range of products to meet a
constant challenge in managing the datacentre environment. With a
demand to increase CRAC set points globally and the rise in power
and cooling requirements, MPL have recognised the need to have a
flexible solution to manage both legacy and new Datacentre
infrastructure.
Complete Wire-Free Real-Time
Monitoring of your Datacentre
Wire Free T & H Monitoring
The wire free structure allows for the
installation of up to 63 sensors over 1 x
IP address. The quanitty of sensors is
made up of 3 x EDGE and 60 x RELAY
Sensors in a typical layout.
The relay sensors provide highly
accurate Temperature and Humidity
monitrong as well as delivering an
extensión to the overall range of
monitoring.
The Edge sensors provide highly
accurate monitoring of temperature and
humidity
Features and Benefits
Monitor all your critical areas; racks, cold aisles, hot aisles, CRAC supply and CRAC
returns. Mount and position to any rack in minutes and management with intuitive
easy to use software.
Each sensor forms part of a redundant
flexible Wire-Free mesh network
reporting data in real-time. Allowing
monitoring, alerting and granular
reports both for individual and group of
sensors utilising the NGEN Software
Framework.
Real-time and historical data analysis
Up-to 50 sensors per IP address
Utilise single battery and USB powered sensors
3 years lifespan on a single AA replaceable
battery
Full Datacentre range - daisy chaining the
sensor network
Automatic failover of sensors
Fit to any server rack
SNMP and Email alerts on threshold breaches
Multi Datacentre and Zone Segregation
Drag and Drop intuitive easy to use software
Dual USB powered and Battery options
Rack Access Control: Card Reader System
HID Card
Reader on
Mesh and
Glass/Perspex
Door
Rack Door Access Management
The Rack security management system
is controlled via a specific software
module in NGEN.
The hardware solution is made of a
RALF unit which links the card readers
for the fornt and rear door,
and manages the commands sent back
to the Poller unit over RS485
The system can support both HID and
MIFARE cards that are controlled via
the Sentry card reader which is
installed onto a rack or cold aisle door.

IntelliPoller
The Network Concentrator is an intelligent IP
interface for MPL’s power and environmental
monitoring and access control systems.
Key
Features
• MPL’s devices are connected via a RS485
serial data bus. The Concentrator controls 4
such busses allowing up to 256 monitoring
devices to be connected via a single IP
enabled connection point.
• If cabinet monitoring devices were to rely
solely on cabinet power to power their logic,
then they run the risk of not being able to
actively report a power failure when the
cabinet power fails. MPL’s monitoring
products are powered from the RS485 data
bus and the IntelliPoller supplies some or all
the power to the bus.
DCIM Software Platform
Real-Time Data Exchange
N-GEN achieves super efficient data exchange by only sending data as it changes
and only to users that have subscribed to see it.
• Low bandwidth consumption
• Low latency and no wait time
• Low memory consumption
• No long wait browser refreshes for data
• No delay or missed events

Data
Only relevant real-time data is exchanged to each
user.
Simple Integration
Simple integration into other systems allows complete flexibility in meeting
your organisation's requirements.
N-GEN can send, receive and converge data easily using industry standard
methods.
Simple Integration

Party PDUs Tivoli
3rd Party PDUs
You can finally move away from clunky non-standard software and move to N-
GEN whilst retaining your existing PDU assets.
SNMP Based PDUs:
N-GEN can gather data from all SNMP based PDUs.
Bespoke PDUs:
The boom in socket monitored PDUs over the last 10 years without an industry
defined method of extracting the data has resulted in bespoke software and
PDUS from many manufacturers.
MPL have the ability to analyse bespoke PDUs and incorporate them into the N-
GEN real-time framework.
AFCO IDS Baytech ServerTech Sinetica
Power and Environmental Monitoring
NGEN provides the
capability to monitor at the
following levels: Outlet /
PDU / Rack / Row / Zone / IT
Room and Data centre.
NGEN also has the capbility
to interface with 3rd party
hardware to provide an option
for clients to centralize their
management tools into one
system should they have
different brands of product
from legacy environments.
Data Centre Layout and Information Tables
Power Distribution Mapping
Reporting Module
NGEN can deliver a range
of custom reports to suit
individual cleint
requirements. Examples
include:
- PUE
- PDUs on-line
- Power Circuit Availability
- Failure Reports
- Top 10 Racks with % KW usage
- Hotspot / Cold spot analysis
Software NGEN – Threshold Management
Threshold levels can be
configured to suit individal
device/rack requirements.
Alerts that are generated
from the devices can be sent
via Email or SNMP as
required. Las alertas también
pueden verse en una página
en N-GEN dedicada a este fin.
The Alerts can be set at the
following levels:
- Global
- Data centre
- Rack (Groups)
- Device – PDU / or sensor
– Integration with UNITE
NGEN has an integrated
SNMP module that
enables the system to
extract data from the
Unite IP based devices
MPL will request the MIB
File from the client in
order to understand the
data base layout for the
data readings that need
to be integrated
Once the field map is
created, the SNMP device
can then be added to
NGEN and the data can
be stored in the NGEN
data base
